This place is a gem! First of all, the pies are amazing! The crusts are flaky, they are fresh, and they are so delicious. I took a road trip (almost 2 hours) just to try this pie and it was worth every mile. We split 3 different pieces of pie (butterscotch, lemon meringue, and coconut cream). The meringue was at least 4 inches tall and was perfect. The pies weren’t overly sweet and did I mention delicious? It’s a charming little pie shop with 3 large family-style tables. The owner is super friendly and happy to serve. The shop has limited hours so look it up before you make the drive. I highly recommend making this a destination if you’re craving some homemade pie that tastes like grandma used to make (if your grandma was a great baker).

Driving by on 80? Stop in. Driving through Princeton? Go ahead and check it out. Are you at least within a surrounding county because that's worth the drive as well. Had a slice of lemon meringue pie and it was great. It had several inches of meringue, properly cooked and mixed. Very light and airy. The lemon was amazing as well. Tart and not overly sweet, just the right balance. I still have a few things to go through to eat though. Will update

Oh my!!! This was my first trip to this local treasure. I LOVE PIE! I am always on the hunt for good pie. Ever since our local Baker's Square went under, I have had a tough time finding a place that made great fruit pies. THIS IS THAT PLACE!!I got a slice of apple, cherry and peach pies. I am going to try to restrain myself and eat only one piece every other day. I had a small sliver of each to taste and they were all delicious!!There was an option for everyone. Cream pies, fruit pies, seasonal pie and even had several options of fresh baked cookies. Everything looked so good.There are a few tables in the bakery and they have assorted hot and cold beverages to accompany their sweet treats. Next time I drive out, I am getting a piece to eat at the location to enjoy with a cup of coffee.I love the town of Princeton. Cute stores, antiques, restaurants AND the best pie shop ever!!

Every day is Pie Day at Myrtle’s. My visit took place on both 3/14 (Pi Day) and a Monday, and despite indicating they had a huge weekend of sales, their selection was varied and outstanding. There were countless available flavors available by the slice, some available both baked and whole, and a freezer full of “take and bake” pies and quiches equal in variety. For those dining in, there was hot coffee and hot chocolate available.My visit included two slices of pie at the restaurant with a cup of coffee, as well as a whole quiche and two slices of pie for friends. The French Silk pie was rich and decadent, and the strawberry rhubarb was the perfect mix of sweet and tart.After hearing about the restaurant from a friend, I drove just over an hour to try it, and was not disappointed. The cashier told me that they regularly see people stretching from Peoria to Chicago visiting regularly, some arriving with “grocery lists” to take home for friends and coworkers. So if you plan a visit, check their menu for what’s available and consider phoning ahead for a frozen pie or quiche, flavor of your choosing, to take home.

Was on a road trip and stopped in. Loved the decor when we finally decided on what to order which was the Coconut Cream and the Monster Peanut Butter Cream (we eat there), but to make our decision easier we got the Chocolate cream, Tiramisu cream, Keylime cream (they call it Key something I can't remember), Raspberry Lemon cheesecake, Cherry cheesecake and for the last one Blueberry cheesecake. So my peanut butter cream that I had was so light, and the flavor had just enough of everything to complete each other. The peanut butter had just the right amount so that it wasn't overpowering BIG plus for most thats all you taste and the pie crust was the best (better than my Grandma's (sorry, Grandma, please don't haunt me.) The Coconut Cream was I think the best I've ever had light, fluffy, silky and then you get the Coconut flavor. Husband had the Keylime today and said one of the best his had if not the best. As for the others we haven't had yet, but if there anything like what we've had so far, we will not be disappointed. So if you can do stop in. I think we'll make some more trips just for pie, but next time we'll bring a cooler. Thankfully we had something we made work for the drive back. So thank you Myrtle's for being one of the best pie places around.

Great pie! We loved it and came back a day later. They do have inside and outside dining available. Plenty of parking. Neat little shops nearby to explore if you want to try and walk off some of it afterwards. We have a vacation property about 40 minutes away and will definitely make it a regular stop.

The guy who took care of us so down to earth and laid back funny and very helpful.. The pies, omg amazing and you get nice size piece and the taste of it is amazing.. I will definitely be back, the crust is so good and homemade..

We had been told if we were ever in Princeton to try the pie at Myrtles so we decided to take a little roadtrip to try it and boy it did not disappoint. Myrtles Cafe and Pies is a quaint little place with a homey vibe. We tried 4 different types of pie a 3 different types of tea. The pie pieces were large and very good. They have a very large assortment of homemade pies they said they make fresh daily and change out often. We asked if they made pies to order and was handed a very extensive list and told just give them an advance notice of what was wanted.

Myrtle's Pie is hands down the best. They have traditional pies, seasonal pies, and specialty pies. You have to bring Myrtle's to your next holiday or any special occasion. Or stop in and pick up single pieces from different pies to decide which one you like best. Treat yourself it will be worth it!

Oh my goodness! So very much worth the drive. Extra friendly service, delicious coffee with fresh cream, and an unbelievable selection of pies. Plenty of fresh whole pies, frozen take-and-bake pies, and pie by the slice.

Myrtle's had a great selection of pies and the two employees working today were extremely helpful. The atmosphere was great for catching up with old friends, as the table next to me laughed and shared pictures. Great location, parking available, a must try if you're near the area.... I would recommend stopping by!

The storefront is very unique. Inside are more pies than I've seen before in one place. The staff was friendly and helpful in helping us choose. We had the strawberry rhubarb and a coffee one that had a very long name. Both were good. Their cinnamon rolls were also very good. I would stop here again when we are in the area.

This is the place of my DREAMS. I love pie and they have endless options to choose from along with some other sweet treats and food. Everything I’ve tried has been DELICIOUS. The service is great too! You can call ahead and ask the flavors of discounted pies for the day and they do a great job at keeping their facebook pages up to date. Please check it out! You won’t regret it.

They have pies like my mother used to make. The crust is made with lard and is the best crust you will ever eat. There are slices or whole you can buy. Some of the whole pies you can take home and bake. The variety of flavors is long and unusual. Place is worth the stop.

It's like walking into your own family's home to enjoy a sweet treat. The pie case is always inviting and interesting due to the seasonal offerings. The employees are always kind. To sit and relax with my husband as he eats his tried and true favorites while I adventure to a new flavor is always a fun afternoon activity. Nothing better than a beautiful day, a great piece of pie and a cup of good coffee.

Great slice of pie and in a nice seating area or take out a whole pie. If I were traveling in a RV; it would be worth a stop. Your night's camping site would have delicious pie to accompany the scenery. There is a small park by the Amtrak station within walking distance of Myrtle's. A nice area if looking for outdoor seating to enjoy a pie from Myrtle's. They mostly have pie but we also bought a cinnamon roll and banana bread. It will enhance your I 80 drive or your tour of Princeton.

If you haven't already eaten the pie here, WHY?! It doesn't matter if you live 5 minutes away or 50 minutes away. Get in the car, drive here, and try all the pies. My faves are banana cream pie and strawberry rhubarb. Go visit, and be sure to take a pie or two to go. Or get 6 slices of 6 different types!

Tried Raspberry, Brownie Mocha Cream and the Bourban Raisin. All of them were excellent. The cream is so light and delicious. Can’t wait to try more flavors.

We were just walking by and saw this cute pie shop! I'm not even a big fan of pies, but I thought something must be good in order to have a store dedicated to selling pies. I have to say that this was absolutely the best tasting pie I've ever had in my life! My family and I will be returning frequently and definitely ordering for the holidays!
