We couldn’t be happier with Hornbakers! They have done extensive work with us including making a very large berm! Dave designed it, implemented it, enlarged our waterfall, and it turned out fabulous! They planted 6 pine trees in another part of our yard. We have purchased an extensive amount of plants and flowers and we just couldn’t be happier!!! Each year they add mulch around our yard and do it beautifully!! Everyone who works for them are knowledgeable and so kind and hard working! We love them and HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to everyone. I have many friends from the Chicago area that now consistently purchase their plantings from Hornbaker’s! They are good honest, kind, and creative people! Enjoy!

Hornbaker’s is an amazing place to buy perennials, annuals, shrubs and art for your garden. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The grounds with various varieties of plants in their natural settings are absolutely beautiful. We’ve been there several times over the past few years and are never disappointed with their stock or help in picking out plants. While it is a little drive for us (coming from Channahon, IL), it is well worth the trip. Every person we’ve referred to go to Hornbaker’s have raved about their plant purchases, the grounds, and the helpful people there.The pictures show some of the amazing perennials we’ve purchased from Hornbaker’s.And while you’re in Princeton, you might as well make a stop at Myrtle’s Pies for their phenomenal pies.

I can’t say how much I enjoy going to Hornbaker’s. I always leave with more ideas and inspiration, plus a few more plants. The staff is great and always helpful. The variety of perennials is huge and if you are looking for hostas there are endless possibilities. Check it out. If you enjoying gardening you will certainly find something to catch your eye.

It's Beautiful !!! We went the day after Easter, so not everything was ready, but we got a tree & some nice plants. They have Gorgeous pottery & a great gift shop....even an old dog roaming around to add to the charm 😀

Honestly, our first time here and it was simply incredible! Planned for a outdoor wedding but weather didn’t cooperate, without hassle their team rearranged the inside decor and brought our service inside and with seemly flawless transition, then in no time at all setup our wedding reception.. food was amazing, wait staff was great and left us with a lifetime of memories!!

Amazing hosta fountain garden and largest selection of hostas I've seen with probably a couple hundred varieties. This would be the place to go to see labeled mature hostas if you are like me and can't decide which kinds to buy.

I worked in the garden center business for 20 years, and this is the best I've seen! The grounds are immaculate. The selection and quality is outstanding. The staff are attentive and friendly while still working. The landscaping around the property is stunning and well-maintained. It feels like a garden center nestled in botanical garden/arboretum. Kudos to the staff and owners!

We love this place! If you need any kind of garden plants or flowers, this is the place to go. They had a hosta sale that we went to. I have never seen so many different kinds before. Of course we had to buy some. If you have never been here before I suggest you go!

What a wonderful place!! Drove over 3 hours to get here and it did not disappoint. We met family and had a picnic lunch. Beautiful ravine with tons of well labeled plants. Lots of gorgeous hostas. I didn't get in all the plant houses.Pathways are mostly gravel. Can be difficult to push wheelchairs and wheeled walkers through in the thicker gravel areas, but not impossible.

Great place for photography. Excellent place to bring kids. They teach kids all about nature. About tadpoles, frogpoles, dragonflies and other creatures around a pond. There was a tour guide that read to the kids. She answered their questions. Encouraged them. The kids got to use nets and scoop up living creatures and then the kids put them in plastic containers with magnifying glass lids so you can see the creatures closer. Very cool. All kinds of wildlife around to see. Well maintained grounds. Well taken care of area. Beautiful to see.

I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and have ordered hostas and day lilies. All arrived well packaged and are thriving. 3 hostas from last year did not make it and where replaced this spring. Hornbaker gardens is the premiere outlet for most of your garden needs. We have been there many times.

It's always a wonderful experience! I just recently moved to Paris, Tennessee and I am getting a lot of ideas from their placement of plants! I can't wait to get back next year to purchase my plants to put at my new home from Hornbaker's. They do an incredible job. And the artesian market is always a nice place to spend a couple hours looking thru crafters booths..An absolute asset to the area!

Always enjoy a day strolling around the gardens and shopping at Hornbaker Gardens. Well worth the drive, especially if you love Hostas and want a wide selection to choose from. I’ve also had plants shipped and were very healthy and well packed.

This is an interesting place to visit and, obviously, a lot of work has gone into running, expanding, and maintaining the business. Employees were helpful. Unfortunately, some perennials listed on their website and/or displayed on the grounds were not available. Availability and prices of some items were better back at home in local nurseries and at least one big box store. Many hostas, which Hornbaker had an abundance of, appeared to be affected by weather and/or insects. Especially if you plan to make a long drive there, as we did, perhaps May would be a better time for selection, fewer biting bugs, and more comfortable temperatures for walking the grounds.
