One of the workers was very rude about my Mother talking on speaker phone. She has a hard time hearing using the phone the regular way, and the employee was very rude and disrespectful. Mind you my Mother is in her 70s and was not yelling, cussing, or using any bad language. She was also not at the check out either. We will never spend money there again! A employee should never talk bad about a customer especially when they don't know the circumstances!

This particular Dollar General always has someone at the register, always knows where to find things, always has boxes put away so you dont trip on them, and most of all always seems to have a very friendly staff. I would say this store is very well run. There is another Dollar General literally next door to the office where I work and I will always wait until I am close to home and patronize the Port Byron store.

Came to buy some chips just before they closed, about 5-6 minutes to clarify, not 30 seconds after 9. lady inside locked the door on me before I could get in, like she watched me pull up and start to get out, and ran over to lock the door before I could come in. It wasn’t 9 yet, and I had to drive to Silvas for a bag of chips. Normally the staff is nice and friendly, but not this time. It sucks that they are the only store in town, because any time the staff don’t feel like staying open until the posted time, I have to drive 10-15 minutes away if whatever I need isn’t at Casey’s.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. You would be hopeful to believe that this particular DG would be fantastic because port byron is a nice town and because this is THE only location for most staples and limited groceries, diapers, otc meds etc , but you would have your hopes dashed almost immediately. There are only 1-2 employees that are not only grateful to have employment, but also aren't miserable. Everyone else gives off a strong impression that their lives are miserable and checking you out is making g it worse. And then the one employee who made the mistake of being extremely rude to my mother. Long story shooort ish ... take the time to go to the DG in Hampton IL.... now that's a nice place with great employees

One of the managers can be difficult at times but other than that it is a decent store. It has a low selection tho. Also they don't get their trucks done very quickly so it is often full of boxes n hard to walk through.

I recently returned two items I purchased-with a receipt- for our high school's student council that they did not open or use it. The employee that did the return clearly was not happy about assisting me and she let me know it! I was not greeted and she barely spoke a word to me. Clearly, I was an imposition! I was really taken aback at how I was treated since I knew this person for quite some time. I left feeling quite upset at how she handled the situation. It is quite unfortunate as this is the only store in our area and I shop there frequently.

An older store but seems to have a little bit of everything in stock and nowhere else local to shop. The employee that was working 3/12/19 around 420 pm was working hard to serve everyone in a timely manner but they could've used more staffing.

A nice zoo - kept clean and orderly and followed social distancing. Only issue is was on the small side- and vending machines did not work on a hot day.

The dollar General in Port Byron is awesome. Clean store. People are friendly and greet you when you walk through the door. I drive from Fulton Illinios to this store.

The staff at the Dollar General I frequently stop at, Port Byron Illinois are always helpful and friendly. Great place to pick up the things run out of and then some.

Store is kind of dark and somewhat cluttered. Some items needed restocked, as there seemed to be quite a few shelves empty of whatever inventory belonged in those spaces.
