I needed to take the time to do this a long time ago, but no time like now. I wanted to THANK from the bottom of my heart Countryside Kennel and Resorts namely Rondell and Denise Chenoweth for saving one of my dogs lives without their knowledge and experience I would have never known everything I was doing for one of my dogs was the direct opposite of what he needed and I have no doubt in my mind that he was dying.I had expressed my concern for Walter many times to Denise and Rondell and finally in one particular conversation they asked me if I’d ever heard of Dr. Fairbrother in Alpha, IL. They suggested that I go see him and have an allergy test taken with bloodwork. I resisted at first because of the cost of the test but now I Thank God & Rondell & Denise every day that I spent that money on saving his life for example every time he was vomiting and sick I was giving him white rice and boiled chicken and everybody all the other vets said that was the thing to do even when I Googled it. When his stomach was upset and he was continually vomiting he was miserable and he would look at me through mere slits in his eyes because he was so sick. I remember feeling so helpless and wanting to help him so badly but I was just spinning my wheels and getting nowhere. This went on for years he would be well for two or three days and then he’d be sick the rest of the week. I tried changing foods I tried reading everything I could find on stomach issues and nothing worked I took him two different times to two different vets and spent $250 on bloodwork and all they would tell me was oh he is doing really well for a dog his age. And as I left those vets offices I was just heartsick because I knew that he was NOT fine, FAR FROM IT.After taking Rondell and Denise‘s advice I took him to Dr. Fairbrother and I had the allergy test done he was allergic to just about everything except air and water. The rice I was giving him every time his stomach was upset was one of the things he was allergic to was WHITE rice and that’s exactly what I was giving him with the boiled chicken sometimes for days because his stomach was so upset. So, I was just adding fuel to the fire as I was thought I was doing the right thing for him. I took the list of things he was allergic to to Pet Supplies Plus and we went through the ingredients and decided on a certain dog food. One of the main ingredients that he was allergic to was wheat flour and I don’t know if you’ve ever taken the time to look but just about every dog food every dog treat has wheat flour in it. Also Denise and Rondell suggested to feed him off of the ground to put his food up at shoulder height so he had to reach down in the bowl and get it because if it was on the floor he was gulping it and getting air in his stomach when he was eating, then he would immediately go over and vomit.Since then he is doing fabulous and looks like a whole different dog. I just had him and one of my other dogs up there at the kennels for a little over a week and when I’m away from them I know that Rondell and Denise and Irene will take excellent care of them & all the other help. Denise even got them out and took them for walks that she didn’t have time to do but she did it anyway because she loves the dogs & the work that Rondell & Denise have done to put this Kennel together.I recommend this Kennel not only for the beautiful facility, but also & most importantly for the hands-on care that each and EVERY dog receives. When I went to pick them up also they both had received a bath just because, with no cost to me. They are the most knowledgeable dog people I have ever met. If you need a place to keep your dog or cat don’t hesitate to gave this Kennel a call. Also, I am on Facebook if anybody wants to speak to me personally about my recommendation.

We brought our vizsla home in March of 2020 and he is the best vizsla we have ever had! Ron, Denise, and Irene know vizsla's better than anyone else in the world! We would rate them 10 out of 5 stars if we could. Our vizsla was an 8 energy level and they were 100% right. He is loving, curious, and runs 10 miles for our 3 miles!

Place was sold. New ownership cannot provide AKC papers to our dog. This is our second Vizsla. Experience 6 yrs ago was great. Thats why we went back. New ownership are crooks- avoid at all cost

We are in the process of getting our fist pup from Countryside Kennels. We have had two Vizslas previously and while we loved them dearly each had their issues. For those unfamiliar with Vizslas they can be timid and nervous if not properly bred and most important socialized! We have visited the kennel 3 times in three weeks to look at our litter and texted a couple of times....Denise and everyone has been very accommodating and welcoming! We are so excited to bring home our pup and I will add to this review as we get to know our new girl.
