The Manager is very rude at the Pontiac Illinois location. She hollered at me because I asked her if she could throw a drink away. She told me not to throw it away outside either. So do you tell every customer they can't throw drinks away in the outside garbage can while your back is turned? I will never return to that store again.

The staff was very friendly and helpfully. I searched all over town for disinfectant wipes. Finally found them here. Only to realize i forgot my wallet. The man at the counter held on to my things so i could run home and get it.

Every time I've been in here, the staff is super friendly and helpful! The store is clean too. Just a little tight when it's busy. I've been to some dirty rude DGs.. this place is awesome! Wish customers would treat them better.

The store is a nice size but it is very cluttered and close quarters. It has a lot of selection. But the employees are lacking in any type of social skills, very rude to customers. It was my first time at this location and I encountered and employee being rude to an older lady who asked a question. Not my type of place.

Although crowded and a little dark. D.G. has upped its game and is an easy and convenient place to run in and get out quickly. 2 litres of soda are frequently on sale and the grocery side is full of name brands as well as some brands you've never heard of. Campbell's soup for instance, though a little limited in selection is well priced, often beating out the other competitors in town. Possibly the best place for OTC medication in price. Small craft section has good prices on basics as well.

I am real burned with Dollar General! The one in Minonk, Illinois consistently has breakdowns so that you can't use the coupons electronically. The one in Pontiac, Illinois is always filthy, their people are snotty and they won't help you. The bathroom is horrible. The one in Altamont, Illinois, is clean and friendly however, DG lied to their customer! They offered $15 off a $50 purchase. I get to the counter with my 50 something dollars+ and there's a small piece of paper taped on the side of the pole where one generally can't see it, saying they have retracted the offer! So what am I supposed to do, put everything back? Especially when I have four grandchildren in tow with me! Bad for you DG, I'm done. I'm going to Dollar Tree from now on.

This Dollar general is on par with most of them. Very full and cluttered With your standard layout easy to find things if you're familiar with the Dollar general. Helpful and friendly staff.

Compared to other DG stores in the area which are bigger and newer, the Pontiac store is older and has a tight, smaller feeling. The times I visited the sales staff was not particularly friendly.

It was the one in Pontiac IL. I defiantly reminded me of the original Dollar General stores. It was a cramped store with not a lot of choices. It worked in a pinch but I much prefer the store in Chatsworth, IL.
