Of all the pet supply stores we have been to, Pets Etc. is the best! Always the most pleasant experience. Extremely friendly/knowledgeable and caring staff. We make the trip from Yorkville passing several other options along the way. It’s refreshing to find businesses that are doing it right.

My baby has been groomed by several of the groomers at Pets Etc. He's ederly and losing his vision, they handle him with loving care and he's beautiful every time! I highly recommend them.

Great/helpful workers, really cool pet store, great pricing for great quality products. My cat goes nuts everytime he hears the bag move even the SLIGHTEST! 😅 I usually get him the wild product cat food. It is a tad bit more then just the basic food but ur cat will love u more with this product I was recommended.

We have been bringing our lab to see Laura for the last two years and absolutely love her! He always comes home smelling great and looking extra dapper! She takes great care of all the animals she grooms. She loves on your pets just like she does her own! Highly recommend Pets Etc. AND Laura!!!

If I could give 0 stars to this place, I would. We went to the groomer because of its reviews. The groomer had done an awful job on my Morkie. Upon calling them to ask if someone can fix his haircut because it’s his birthday - the manager refused to help and was extremely rude/unprofessional. We paid $70 and she refused to give partial refund as well. I would NOT recommend bringing in your pups at this place for grooming. It’s a rip off.

I brought my shaggy unkept 6 month old labradoodle for her first hair cut expecting the worse since I was horrible at keeping this active adorable troublesome pup brushed cuz she’s into everything, but holy cow they did a fantastic job! I’m sure betweeen her being scared and squirming because it was her first cut and she was terribly matted, it had to be hard job .Super..super impressed, I absolutely recommend!See before and after photos!Incredible!!!

Tanya did a fantastic job grooming my 4 mo labradoodle. I could not have been happier. It was our puppy's first cut and being a puppy, I am sure the job wasn't an easy one yet head to toe, I mean tail, our dog couldn't have looked better. The store staff was equally as great (and kind and friendly) to me and our dog during drop off and pick up as well. Thanks Tanya and Pets Etc.... We will be back and I will most certainly refer otherhs to you.

I go to this particular location for my dogs nails to be trimmed. The techs working in grooming go above and beyond to make the pups feel comfortable. They speak so sweetly to them and always are smiling!!!! They not only make the pets feel safe, they make the puppy parents feels safe and happy also!!! I HIGHLY recommend them!!!!

We needed more customer service than a Chewy order for our rescues. Pets Etc has been just incredible to work with. Our pups are now spoiled (as they should) and their food is quality and catered to each furry baby. The moment you walk into the door you are greeted and assisted. I’ve brought my puggle specifically to Laura. My fur baby is completely blind and I am very particular with who grooms him. He loves Laura and always comes out looking so handsome and smelling so good! She does a great job cleaning out his ears and smoothing out his nails since my pup isn’t able to get them filed down with our walks anymore. Laura is the best!

BEWARE!! PLEASE READ MY FULL STORY! I Took my dog here over a year ago and got a horrible haircut (picture below) my dog is now almost three and has been going to his regular groomer without any issues. Today I thought I’d give this place a second chance because his groomer can’t get him in until next week, and boy I’m sorry I did. After my dog was there for about a half hour they called me and said my dog (6 lbs Shih Tzu) was completely uncontrollable and it was unsafe for the groomer to continue. I was totally confused as he has been groomed his whole life without any issues. They suggested my dog be fully sedated to be groomed. (He’s never needed any kind of sedatives for grooming nor shots) I immediately picked up my dog and while I went to the back 4-5 lady’s were standing around my dog recording him as they proceeded to touch him with the clippers in various spots as if to show my dog was being aggressive. (The video shows my dog turning his head in the direction of the clippers still fully muzzled)and they said that was enough to stop the grooming process. I asked them if maybe one of the lady’s standing there doing nothing could possibly help if they felt my dog was unruly and she said “nope only one groomer per dog” this place is horrible and the groomers are definitely under qualified. Please save your dog the trauma and go somewhere else.UPDATE: let’s analyze everything the “owner” said. 1) my dog needs to be held down which would cause ptsd. Then how was the grooming done the first time by these people. Maybe that’s why my dog was terrified of this place. 2)this mike person claims to have been there but there was only women in there that day. Unless mike identifies as a women then no mike was not there. 3)this person claims to have talked to other groomers in the area that also Denied my dog. Impossible and an out right lie because my dog has only had one groomer and she has and will continue to groom him. Next grooming is actually on the 16th. 4) I would like to point out similar reviews on this place via their yelp page. Last but not least I’m going to post another picture of how my dog looks after being groomed by his very professional and very qualified groomer. :) you be the judge of the pictures! The orange bow is what pets etc. did. The other is my dogs regular groomer.

I usually come here for food and I’ve always like that it was a local shop. I had two appointments scheduled for my dogs nails to be trimmed on the same day (just so it was easier to manage)I took my first dog and was up charged bc it took two people to hold him, which is fine but no one notified me that this was a thing. Also, I would’ve appreciated being told before hand so I as the owner could make the judgment not to continue the nail trim if it was making my dog genuinely upset and uncomfortable. They muzzled him, which is also fine and I said was okay if they needed to, but one lady put her face in my dogs face with the muzzle which I find to be dangerous. At any point the muzzle failed, anyone could’ve gotten hurt. I do my best to keep my dogs relaxed but this was a very new environment for him. Dogs will get anxious with that type of commotion (other dogs barking, new people around them, being restrained)I asked about the up charge and immediately heard the groomers complaining about why I questioned it. I spoke with demry (who is a very nice lady and comped the up charge after I explained that no one told me) and she asked me what was wrong and I told her that I could hear them complaining about why I was confused or not told this was a thing.I left with my dog and my partner and I decided not to bring my second dog. I called to cancel the appointment but it was already canceled and no one cared to tell me either. Mind you, I called the same morning and confirmed both appointments with jacob and spoke with the groomers themselves about my second dog. So if I had decided to bring my second dog, I would’ve been there unknowingly with a canceled appointment. When I made the appointments, I did it in person and gave them my information and watched them write it down, so there’s no way that the appointment was never made.I understand that having a dog like mine is difficult (he is a German shepherd and husky mix). I understand that it can take extra help to get the job done. I was there the whole time, there was opportunity to consult me about if this was something I was willing to continue and to let me know that if they involved another groomer it would be extra.Obviously I’m not a groomer. Every situation is different ofc and I whole heartedly believe that the groomers were trying to do what they thought was best with the circumstances. I just don’t appreciate the lack of communication and then being upset when I voice my confusion.It’s very unfortunate since I love this place as a pet store. Hopefully other owners don’t have this experience.EDIT:It’s the day after my appointment.Mike the new owner reached out to me today regarding my experience.Firstly, I would like to thank him for taking the initiative to reach out and to also personally investigate my experience. He worked along side Demry (who I mentioned before as a very nice lady) to fully grasp essentially everything that had happened. I would also like to point out that I asked the groomer yesterday if they would be able to trim my dogs paw pad as well, which she did and ofc I expected a charge for that. I am appreciative that she did and I don’t want to discredit that at all.Secondly, Mike assured me that from my experience moving forward, they are implementing a more informative system for owners to let them know of any potential charges in regards to managing your dog and their temperaments. Like I said before, it’s not the charge itself that was an issue, it was not being notified before hand, primarily because myself and I’m sure other owners as well are splitting the bill between their partners or family. I whole heartedly would’ve been fine paying it if I knew before hand. I’m glad to hear that they are immediately making an effort to change and be more open-minded to the customers experiences.I am changing the rating from 1 star to 3 star, primarily because I will have to wait and see these changes myself. I’m increasing it because of Mike’s outstanding professionalism and drive to help and resolve customer concerns.
