If I could leave zero stars I would! I used to work in a pharmacy so I know the rush and the demand and what to expect, but the lack of care and compassion at this store is beyond measure! I went to urgent care at 7 PM in Ottawa and my local pharmacy was already closed so they had to send my scripts to the store. I called ahead of time before making the drive to make sure they got my three scripts and they would be filled and the man that answered the phone. I’m assuming the pharmacist said they came in and that they would be filled. It would take 30 to 40 minutes. So I arrive and I go in and give my name and birthday and the girl proceeds to tell me I don’t have any scripts there. She cannot find anything she talk to the pharmacist they go back-and-forth they finally find my scripts. Then the girl tells me they will be ready in 15 to 20 minutes because they are clearly just now filling them. So the pharmacist calls my name over the loudspeaker to come pick up my scripts and they only have 2 ready and the third one, the pain reliever, the one I really need had an error code and they tried to call my doctors office, but they were already closed so they can’t fill it. This is exactly why I called 45 minutes ago before I wasted my time and gas driving clear to Peru then to be told my script can’t be filled with no apology, no sense of compassion, nothing! These people have no idea that I took a bad fall the night before and have been walking around in pain all day working through it waiting to get off work to go to the doctor so that I could get something for pain! So here I am going on 10 o’clock at night just getting home in tears with no pain relief thanks for nothing Walgreens!!! You need to get it together!!

They are very fast, courteous and efficient! When I get notification that my prescription is ready, I am in and out like a flash so long as the line isn’t very long. Staff are knowledgeable and helpful, even going out of their way to ask how you are doing and make you feel welcomed, even when there are often many rude and ignorant customers in store and in line. The only reason I gave four instead of five stars is that they are woefully understaffed like every other healthcare facility in the country sadly, it’s not really that store or management’s fault really, I would blame the corporation and the overall economy and the working public really, but it can be a frustratingly long wait in line when busy simply because they lack enough staff to handle very large rushes, it’s not their fault though.

This pharmacy is probably the worst I have ever been to. You can never speak to anyone there when you call. The calls always go to a call center. The prescriptions are never filled in a timely manner and they always just seem to be so unorganized. They seem like they don’t care whether you need your medication in a timely manner. I called today multiple times. I was put on hold each time forever and one time the phone just rang and then I was hung up on. Place is just a mess!

Tim in the pharmacy is why I am transferring all my families scripts. Tried to pick up my med and he told me he didn't have anything. I tried for several minutes to get it straightened out, I was completely out and it's extremely important that I take it. He refused to help me. I kept trying to give him more info because I knew that I had refills and that I was notified it would be ready on that day and time. Tim just kept saying he couldn't help me and then would say "bye, have a nice day" just being ignorant and refusing to listen to me or even try to get my meds. I called the store 5 minutes after this and an amazing lady answered , i wish i remembered her name, and as soon as I said I was just there trying to get my meds, she apologized and said it was a computer glitch and that she had my meds ready. If you don't know how to do your job, ask for help! Don't treat customers who are trying to help you figure out your mistakes like their garbage. People need their medications to stay alive and this guy does not care at all. He didn't even apologize when I came back to get my meds. This guy is complete trash.

First time in the store! I ordered a book I had created. The lady was alright and quickly checked me out before I roamed the store. I LOVE that every beauty & skincare product is labeled at the top! It makes it so much easier when finding items. The store isn’t crowded either as most are. Shelves seemed well stocked. There were a few empty spaces in the Halloween isle as you would expect 2 days beforehand. I didn’t get a moment to glance at the cashier’s name I had, but she was sweet! I spoke to her about how clean the aisles looked. She recommended a review😊 She was paged up front for help so, I assume she’s a manager and it showed! I currently work with the public and I truly understand the frustration that comes with it, but both of the woman I spoke to were kind or at least eager to get me through the line which is a win in my book. Their ice cream section is a must look spot! So many different kinds also friendly for non dairy eaters! Ice cream is cheaper here than at the grocery store I work! The ONE DOWNFALL is trying to get into contact with any department. I shouldn’t have to wait on the phone for over 15 minutes to reach the photo development department AND after 15 minutes I just hung up. That’s ridiculous. You’re better off going into the store if possible. All around, not a terrible experience by any means. Shoutout to the cashier, your kindness was appreciated.

If you want to wait 30 plus minutes in the pharmacy drive thru no matter the time of day or day of the week this is place to go. CVS in Peru and Hyvee in Peru - you’re in and out in 10 minutes in their drive thru. This place has been a disaster for years and it gets worse by the month.

Workers are extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. The beauty counter woman is sweet, but many of the other workers are disgustingly rude. Snobby and refuse to help anyone with anything, especially the short girl with long brown hair. She walks around like it’s the worst thing in the world to be at work. The manager is terrible at her job and deserves to be fired. This place has gone down and it’s apparent. Take your business elsewhere, it’ll save you time and energy.

Tried calling to straighten out an insurance issue waited two hours and five attempts to talk to someone without any luck I did leave a voicemail but no return on that either if I ever manage to get my prescription filled it will be the last time I ever use this pharmacy

Had a perfectly valid receipt for a return and was denied and was told an item had already been return off of the receipt which was completely untrue I was returning some makeup for my daughter one item the other was a bag of Doritos she ate when we got home nothing else on the receipt I'll probably take my prescriptions and other business matters across the street to cvs

Atrocious. The cashier Mary threw a hissy because I asked if there was anyone that could check out in cosmetics, instead of saying yes or no, she called the manager, and said, "Check her out first because she is in a big hurry." and gave me the dirtiest look. The manager said nothing, and let the cashier continue to berate and humiliate me in line. I know that times are tough, but when did that become acceptable? It is sad that people are so vile and hateful. Now I know why I avoid this Walgreens and go to CVS across the street. At least they don't act like you committed a crime when you ask a question. Get a grip. Unbelievable. So sorry that I spent part of my paycheck in your store. And you wonder why brick and mortars are disappearing and everyone is shopping online.

Called simply trying to figure out the process of getting a CGM and the lady was super annoyed the whole time I was talking because she wasn’t understanding my question/situation. Kinda glad my work insurance forces me to go thru CVS.

My husband's prescription was called in around 10am, he showed up around 3pm to pick it up and was told it wasn't ready. I called at 3:30pm to see if they could tell us when it would be ready and I was told I could pick it up at 5:30pm that same day. I got to the drive thru at 5:40pm and was told that it still wasn't ready. I mentioned the conversation I had earlier with one of the employees and was provided with a rude comment about how they don't know what goes on in the back (which is literally 5-10 feet away from them). Then they proceeded to tell me that they have no idea when it would be done and that I have to leave because it's their busiest time of the day. (There was only one other car in the drive thru and I saw no one at the counter through the large window).

Seems like there's always a long line at the pharmacy. More times than not the prescription is not ready when they say it will be. I really don't know why I go there anymore. There are other pharmacies in town that are better staffed. CVS, Hy-Vee, and others have better prices and service.

This review is for the store side only as I have never used the pharmacy. Kalem went above and beyond to locate a product for me. Cindy Lou behind the counter is the sweetest. Every one of the employees I have had interaction with have been beyond pleasant.

Absolutely horrible service from pharmacy, lady was rude and wouldn’t listen to anything I said. She asked my name and said she couldn’t hear or understand it after me saying it three times so I spoke louder and she then got mad and said “there’s no need to yell at me like that” then said she’d get someone else to help me cause she didn’t want to deal with my “attitude” for yelling, she came back instead of getting someone else and told me I needed to leave and refused to give my prescription.

If I could leave zero stars I would. Utterly rude staff in the pharmacy department. Was on hold for 15 minutes, was hung up on and when I called back I was on hold for another 15 minutes only to be greeted by a completely rude staff member. I will be taking my prescriptions elsewhere. I understand you're busy, but come on now.

Picking up a single prescription? Be prepared to WAIT and I mean WAIT! If your in a hurry... FORGET ABOUT IT! This place is the absolute WORST! Some of the techs are rude and clueless, some techs like to carry on conversations with a customer and it won't even be pertaining to their medicine, while others wait in line at the drive thru and inside lines to pick up their prescriptions. It's like Walmart having all those lines but only two open! You have four techs working and only one working the inside and one working the drive thru. What's the other ones doing? Or their understaffed. What's the point of having two lanes if you only do one customer at a time!? Also makes sure to check any gel tablets that you get from there, because I have received my medicine with white powder substance all over it when their should have not been! Your better off going to CVS or Walmart honestly! Also good luck with them letting you know your prescription is ready as well.

Had a Rapid COVID Test done and they lost my test swab! Also after I swabbed my nares, the woman at the window had the gall to ask me if I had swabbed already when I put the swab back in the bin. Unbelievably poor customer service and very unprofessional. Will never go back.

While the makeup counter people are sweet and helpful, the pharmacy is poorly managed, understaffed, undertrained, which becomes obvious as you are left waiting ages for prescriptions (and watching the poor, sick souls waiting next to you suffer for hours before they are granted their antibiotic or other medication). Routinely at this store, I've had a pharmacist or tech forget to order a high dollar, relatively rare medication prescribed by my board certified pain specialist. Few pharmacies stock this medication, but I've been taking it for years, with my doctor often required to prove I still need it every three to four months. This pharmacy imposed an arbitrary store rule that they won't fill pain scrips until you're three days from being out of medication (most insurance would pay for fills a week earlier than the store allows). Then, the store orders appears to order medication just twice a week, so if they don't stock your pain medication, inevitably, they force a patient to do without medication. This happens to me on a regular basis, but rarely does the pharmacist own up that they simply forgot to order the medication when they said they would. Last few times, the pharmacist told me that they had tried their best to order my medication but the medicine was discontinued by the manufacturer (or the sku number changed, or the strength of the medicine changed....I've heard every made up excuse you can imagine from these "professionals"). Within ten minutes, I was able to personally speak to the manufacturer's pharmacy department who connected me with their regional distributor of the medication who assured me that not only was the drug still being manufactured, but that other Walgreens in IL were ordering it every day, and that there was absolutely nothing amiss in the supply chain- it was clearly a store issue. If CVS or HyVee, or any other pharmacy in my area stocked my medicine, I'd take my business anywhere but this Walgreens. I feel so bad for the kind new hire techs and loyal old guard employees who take abuse from the customers because of the management and a few bad pharmacist's dedication to mediocrity.Special mention for the late night pharmacists, who are usually very quick and helpful. Generally though, this is not the place to entrust with your healthcare needs.

Lisa, a cashier, is absolutely horrible. No manners what so ever, acts like she owns the place. Will never be returning as long as she works there. Can’t believe the way she talked to me, even in front of a manager. I left the store In tears after the way she talked to me.

I travel all over the country and deal with Walgreens in all different states all I can say is the pharmacist on nights Michelle is the best pharmacist I have dealt with. I wish more pharmacists were like her.Michelle if you read this Thank you for everything you do God Bless

I moved here back in September from 3 hours away. Automatically when I needed medicine refilled I used Walgreens as always. I have NEVER dealt with a pharmacy soooooooooo slow. I thought maybe it was the day however everytime since has been the same. There are times I travel so Walgreens is convenient, however I am so close to finding a new location. If anyone can recommend a better location in Peru area please contact me. With as much money we spend on medication each month any pharmacy would love to have us.

I am sorry to have to say this but this pharmacy is so incompetent. I use to use this local years ago and it was wonderful. What happened? I know some good people that work here so I do not understand the problem. Is it the management… or it is just some of the employees? Whatever the problem is, it needs to be dealt with. I would not recommend this location to anyone!!!
