My dealings with this “hospital” is that they can’t get me in until after the new year. How do you take care of emergency visits if you need an appointment first.

Update 4-26-23....just called them regarding a cancellation charge I received in the mail. The girl on the phone said because we chose not to wait for an unspecified amount of time after they took on an emergency we cancelled the appointment which causes them to loose out.I said we completely understand emergencies happen but you can't expect people to wait indefinitely without offering to reschedule the appointment when you took on that emergency. She tried to claim that my husband just took off when told he had to wait indefinitely or pay a cancellation fee. I told her that I know for a fact that no rescheduling was offered as the conversation was recorded (in an outdoor setting). I could then hear Sprayer in the background telling the girl to hang up.I did try to call back but if course no answer.ORIGINAL POST....First I was told Wednesday when they called at 1:37pm to confirm my appointment that they were no longer doing curbside. That turned out to be a lie.Our appointment was scheduled for 3:30 and at about 4 they said they were no longer going to be able to see us due to an emergency and tried to charge us a CANCELLATION FEE. They tried to have my husband sign paperwork to have everything sent to another vet on top of cancelling. They also tried to hold him hostage until he paid said cancellation fee.

Amazing experience! Very caring and professional, and they take their time with explanations and options. Prices are reasonable. I also boarded my cat after surgery and she was well cared for...got lots of attention...they sent text photos and got her to eat. When she came home and I had an emergency after hours, I received a prompt callback with instructions and she was tended to immediately. I take all my animals to them. I will never go to another place. My pets deserve the best and I have found it.

My husband came in with our dog for his annual appointment and ended up sitting in their parking lot for 2 hours. He called in after a bit to make sure they didnt forget about him, watched another patient cone and go, and then they came out for our dog. The same thing happened a few months ago when I came in with one of my family members for their dog. Thought I should forewarn people of the potential wait especially since in the summer it means you and your pet have to sit in a hot car for a long time!I have worked in a vet clinic before so I know sometimes things get hectic, especially with just 1 vet, but if they knew they were running almost 2 hours behind on appointments, a call would have been nice.

We’ve taken our current and past dogs to The owner one at the new location one at her old location. She was amazing to us very kind and compassionate. She made a house call when our dog was attacked by another was there for us when we put him down and saw us through our next and continues to! I would 10/10 recommend!

Dr. Spayer has been our vet for almost two years. She and her staff are always very professional and kind. I recently had to call in on the weekend with an emergency. Dr. Spayer was quick to return my call and help out my cat. She and her staff are also so good about calling after an emergency or procedure to check in on how the patients are doing. Highly recommend!

TRUE STORY: I’m so devastated the lady literally closed the doors in my face said we don’t accept your kind around here

Always courteous, helpful, knowledgeable that includes Dr. and staff. On my very first visit years ago I explained that cost was extremely important to me.. Never did I feel I was over charged.Staff carried the carrier with Missy from my car and to the car when visit was finished, as they always do for me.My 16y/o cat was put down 9/24/21 for health issues. Dr. stayed with me until Missy was gone. She listened to Missy's heart rate until her last breath. All details of the procedure were explained to me and my instructions were confirmed twice. First by staff and then by Dr. Everyone paid respects over my loss. Dr. carried Missy's carrier to the car because it's difficult for me. Again the cost was reasonable. Doctor and I hugged at the car. We were both masked and vaccinated.During the pandemic I was not allowed to be with Missy during her exams. The staff was masked always. They always explained everything to me about Missy's visit. I was pleased at the precautions taken during this disheartening pandemic. Bridgeview takes better care of their patients than the local hospital took care of me before the pandemic and I'm a retired nurse.Thank you.

My dog Ginny tries to run away from me into the vet office each time we go. She LOVES Dr. Spayer. Anytime my pet is sick or needs her regular check up, we are seen as soon as possible and I am always ensured that my pet is getting the best service possible. I would not choose another place for my pet. My other dog was dying of Lyme Disease and another clinic said she needed to be put to sleep. Dr. Spayer saved her and she is now she still living and a happy pup 4 years later!

Called here on a Sunday as our beloved kitty was bleeding from the mouth and urinating in place. Were told to bring our cat in on Monday but call first. On Monday when we called we were told they had no time they were too busy. This was my husbands parents cat and vet that we called. We immediately called our own vet and they said come immediately. Twenty minutes later our cat was being euthanized because there was nothing they could do. If she had seen our cat on Sunday she may still be alive. We will never know. We were grievously let down. I'm sorry but we never got a letter from you dismissing Pesky from your practice. The last time Jo tried to bring her in you could not see her due to Covid. There was no mention from you that she was no longer your patient. I never said I was going to call you at 8:30 and you did not tell me there was a time limit to bring her in. I expected you to see her on Sunday. We had a diabetic dog and our vet saw him on at least one occasion on a weekend after hours. Never made us feel like we were putting him out. I will keep that in mind and never choose a one vet facility.

These guys are great! My dog got into a situation Easter morning of all days, when no one is open and you know everyone is busy. I left a message with them and not only did they get back to me in a timely fashion, which I was not expecting today, when they couldn't reach me one way they tried other things until they got ahold of me. They helped my dog get better, and I am very grateful.

Thanks to Allison and all of the girls at Bridgeview, my fur baby has a second chance at life. We took him to Ancare because he was sick and they recommended we put him down so we made an appointment with Allison and she got to the bottom of things and did what needed to be done and he is now home with us and on the road to recovery. He will never see another vet. She fought for our boy and we owe her the world!!

This is one of the last places that I ever recommend you take your animal. Dr. Spayer, (who might I add has around 2-4 active restraining orders on her now ex-clients), and the rest of her general practice staff are too worried about their own, and your own personal lives to give your animal the proper exam/care that it needs and deserves. This place itself is nothing but a joke. I myself have seen police in their parking lot more than a handful of times, as I was either driving by or there for an appointment. Wether Dr. Spayer called them herself or a client did, the fact that they’re even there shows us that she obviously isn’t doing something right and needs to do some serious digging on her and her strategies. If she would grow up and act the 50 year old that she is, and stop carrying around all of this unnecessary drama with her, she could probably run a successful business again. But until then, I hope those piñatas keep coming cheap🙂 She is indeed not a kind and wise 50 year old woman with an animal doctorate degree, a petty and bitter 14 year old girl is what this woman is made of.And Dr. Spayer, just from what I’ve seen in your previous review responses, don’t waste your time looking up my name in your clientele. My name will be no where to be found as dealing with you through my boyfriend was more than enough for me to ever want. Hope ya close soon!♥️

Dr Spayer has been our Vet since she graduated from Vet school! She has always treated our pets and us with the utmost professionalism and kindness! Our most recent experience was her care for our senior cat Milly. Milly can be a "scardie" cat but Dr Spayer made her calm and comfortable and of course took care of all her problems!

First off I just want to thank Dr. Spayer and all the staff at Bridge View Veterinarian Hospital for their devotion, caring, and professionalism.A week ago today we rushed my dog Forrest to AnCare due to a rapidly declining state of health. After a quick physical exam and blurry sonogram the young veterinarian adamantly recommended euthanasia and gave us a few minutes to say goodbye. Feeling rushed and pressured, we contacted Bridge View where Allison wanted to see him right away. It's now a week later, and after some antibiotics as a result of their experience, an exam, blood work, observation, and willingness to search for answers my best friend is here beside me today healing, happy and tail wagging!Thank you so much!Neil and Forrest

The most horrible veterinarian ever.My dog became sick while in their care, boarding, and died 2 weeks later. He was fine entering and on his death bed 3 days later, then kicked out without any type of treatment. She's the most unprofessional, arrogant veterinarianHer day is coming to face her actions, let her plead her case with them. She's been reported to the U of I where she graduated from along with my picture on a pinyatta while they're celebrating my leaving and dogs death. The University of Illinois forwarded on to me the proper information needed to submit a claim for violation of OATH that all graduating veterinarians must take. What a top class act veterinary facility ...She hopefully will stand before the licensing and review board too for her actions. My day of happiness will come the day she loses her license or is suspended.Soon I Hope!!!I've had veterinarians from across the country call me saying that they're appalled by her behavior after seeing the picture and this is Not a Standard in veterinary practice. Also the amount of people who have called, texted, or stopped me to talk about their experiences with this facility is sad.

Our experience with Bridgeview has always been professional and friendly.... until Mishka came home with us with an extra accessory. We were never informed about the use of anti-bark shock collars, guidelines on when they would be used, or given any sort of form or even a conversation around if we were okay with this.Upon discovering this on her neck and reaching out to ask what was going on, we were told three different conflicting pieces of information:1. They only beep (this is incorrect)2. She is too fluffy for this to make contact with her skin (after further questioning)3. She was apparently on record that the use of the collar was permitted (100% false and consent was never given. This came from the vet after we collected all of our pets records to prepare to transfer them. Mishka was added to some list they have by an employee that is no longer with them for permitted use of the collar. We never signed or gave this consent.)It is really a shame because Mishka made a lot of friends here and honestly we have not had any issues previously with the vet herself or our appointments here. They have NEVER reached out to us about behavioral issues or anything with Mishka to even suggest they did so because of her behavior. This was a total violation of trust and I'm just glad we never boarded her there. Would she have been collared most of her stay? How long was she being collared? I really hope this is something they take seriously and that they address as far as their business policy and transparency with their clients going forward.

I wouldn't take my animals here. I have seen and heard many horror stories from previous clients as well as old employees. Glad I heard them before I called to set up an appointment for My dog.. What kind of vet office takes a client's photo and puts it on a piniata and let's staff take turns hitting it and takes pictures around it? 🤔 regardless of their relationship it shouldn't have been done at all. Goes to show you there morals. I'll be passing the word to anyone that considered taking their beloved pets here.

We found a hummingbird that couldn’t fly on our sidewalk. Dr. Spayer took the small bird and removed a hair that was wrapped around its foot. She fed it and kept it for monitoring. The office was very caring and professional.

I just got a 6 week old Tuxedo kitten and set up her first appointment which was two weeks out. Over the next couple days I was really getting worried about her eyes. I called Bridgeview with my concerns and they were able to squeeze me in a week earlier. The staff came out, greeted me, explained the paperwork and what to expectAfter the exam, Dr.Spayer came out, explained the diagnosis, the medication (antibiotics), how to administer it. She talked with me and listened to me with care and compassion as a new kitten Mom.My baby girl is on antibiotics and her eyes are looking so much better ... she is on the mend.Thank you Dr. Spayer and the staff of Bridgeview. You've made a lifetime client out of me.

Horrible! My cousin called the emergency number due to the dog needing to be put to sleep after hours. The vet text back over an hour later and said she had been at the vet for emergencies all day and she should have called before 7. My cousin called at 6:40, the vets response was my phone died at 6:30. She flat out said she wouldn't help. Recommend elsewhere if you don't want to go in after hours. Do not recommend this place!Unfortunately I did not receive partial information! I read the text messages and was next to the person sending the messages.

My cat got sick and was throwing up. We werent sure why so we took him to Bridgeview. The staff was super nice and worked with me to try treatments that I could afford. They never once pushed any procedure on me. They treated him well and told us to come back if symptoms werent resolved. We did end up going back and they waived to office fee since if was for an issue we had already been treating. I would recommend.

I have lived in Chicago for the past 4 years and recently moved back and decided to try this vet out for my cat…I cannot believe I let my cat go here for 5+ hours alone after now hearing these horrible problems..I had no idea. (piñata photo ect.) even before hearing about this I thought it was very odd they don’t allow clients inside of the building kind of a red flag since everything has been open in the area for awhile. Recently added a dog addition to our fam and I WILL NOT be returning to this sick place with either of my fur babies. This is the infamous photo of employees posing and drinking alcohol with a clients picture on a piñata after his dog passed away after boarding there. This is disgusting behavior. Regardless of any “difficult” client this is completely inappropriate.

They helped us with our sweet baby Wumpus. The night that he passed away I could not reach anyone on the phone, but Dr. Spangler answered and helped us through one of our roughest nights. The next morning we brought our baby in to say our final goodbyes and have him memorialized. The whole staff especially Dr. Spangler was so comforting and wonderful. I will only go to Bridgeview from now on.

To be honest, if you bring your pet here after their whole fiasco - you must not really care about your pet's wellbeing. The ladies that work here are uneducated and unfortunately, this will be with them for the rest of their careers. We also had a negative experience and are glad our pets now go elsewhere for care

So excited that Dr. Spayer and staff are now in Peru. Dr. Spayer has taken care of my pups for more than 10 years. Not only is she a great vet, but she's also just a nice, caring person. My pups love her. Her staff does a great job as well. And now with boarding, it surely is a one-stop shop for all my cockers' needs.
