Petco in Bloomington, IL exceeded my expectations! The store layout was organized, making it easy to find what I needed for my furry friend. The staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, offering great advice on pet care. Plus, their selection of products was pretty good, ensuring I could find what I needed. Overall, a good experience for some of my pet needs.

I have made two appointments for my dog and each time I got turned away. I scheduled appointments a month in advance both times. The second time I arrived at my appointment 40 minutes early and drove 45 minutes away just to be told “it takes 2 hours for a grooming appointment and we close at 4pm so we don’t have time to groom your dog today” considering the fact my appointment was made at 3:15PM. Even though on the website I scheduled him for a grooming (shave). It makes me so upset to have to be turned away twice in a row, waste my time, and give up my hopes to get my dog taken care of considering the fact I have a full time job and only get 1 day a month off. This is the most irresponsible place I’ve ever been to. Not happy whatsoever to be turned away twice even though they knew what my dog needed a month before the appointment. Without a notice. I’ve wasted my gas and time with this place to many times. I’m never coming back here, completely over priced and clearly taking care of animals is not at top priority here. Sincerely, disappointed.

The employee seemed annoyed that I had a question as she was talking to a boyfriend or friend and child who were visiting her. Then when I asked her if they had any more of the product I was interested in she proceeded to say nope without checking. Then I grabbed 2 other similar products and asked if they were as good or if she knew which product was better. She once again acted as I was annoying her and told me that it was no different that going out and buying people shampoo and people lotion with oatmeal in it. I said but this says medicated and she repeated the statement above.. as if insinuating the product was garbage and not worth $16.95 for each of the 3 products.This isn’t the 1st terrible experience I’ve had in Petco! I’m really just thinking about paying the extra to get my stuff from the vet or online! I try to stay brick and mortar… but Petco…be careful, bc if it wasn’t for your adorable pets, your people would be running all the customers away!

I have done all my shopping through there since I bought my pet. They got me to sign up for vital care two years ago and I’ve never used it. I’ve tried countless times to cancel it and today finally got a person on the phone. I was told I auto enrolled in it which I checked, the auto enrollment was turned off. Between being told by multiple employees how to deactivate it turns out you can’t deactivate it. It’s a scam that is pretty much impossible to get out of! Do yourself a favor and never sign up for it! Like I’m gonna do myself a favor and never shop there again. They lost a good customer over this not to mention anyone who listens to me will hear about this. I deal with thousands of people a week at my job.

Either understaffed or inattentive staff. After searching for a supposedly (on website ) in stock product I had to ask staff for help locating it. He said he would go grab one. After waiting twenty minutes and watching him talk to coworkers and then begin assisting other customers I left. Only upon leaving did he say he would look.

Im not one to leave reviews good or bad but I had a horrible experience at Petco recently. I brought my dog (doodle mix)into Petco and Cherie was the only one available todo the grooming. Doodle mixes usually have a standard cut and I gave her very simple instructions on how I would like my dog cut and how I did not want a standard poodle cut. Even showed a picture. She did not fulfill my instructions and cut my dog like a poodle. My dog is completely shaven down almost to her skin. With how much it cost to get done I would have been better off doing it myself. She did a terrible job and I won’t be returning. I’d think Petco would hold their groomers to a higher standard.

Savvy got a bath and all went well. She's so soft. But her anal glands are still a problem for her. Constantly scooting.She was constantly scratching herself; I thought she had fleas, but no fleas were found. Came in for shopping and bought Hill's Science dog food. No dyes in Hills. Amazing in 24-hours she stopped itching. One problem solved.

I had a card for petco, it had a zero balance and was paid on time. The bank closed my account due to not using it enough, because I paid it in full and on time with no balance. Should have been no issues. I will NEVER shop your store again. Any petco.

Kind’ve really upset. I got a king snake from here and they gave it to me in a pop up box! I didn’t think about it… well it escaped. I looked in the box when I got inside and it was gone! I’m extremely disappointed.

I came in to buy dog food I had received a text telling me I had points to redeem before end of month! Clerk would not even check for me said he didn’t see it! He did not even give me a chance to show him my text???

I love the staff at Petco. They are always helpful. They also clearly love animals; we got our anole from them for $2. He had been found in a UPS truck and likely wouldn’t have made it if they wouldn’t have taken him in. In the rare event they don’t have crickets in stock and I have to go elsewhere, I’m always reminded how much I prefer this Petco to any other pet store

Was so excited for the new store but was disappointed when I walked back to where the animals were. They have leopard geckos on sand no hides. Corporate told them either sand or carpet. The sand will cause impaction and the carpet holds in bacteria and the reptiles snag their nails and teeth on it and pulls then out. The parakeets were always chirping and playing at the old store but quiet and sitting on the bottom of the cage. They took their fun playyard away and just put flimsy perches. The perches were too scary for them to go on. I could tell the workers were not happy with the new store. They either do what corporate says or they are fired. Corporate doesn't care about the animals just making money. If you want a great animal please find a local breeder or go to the nearest reptile animal show. So many people buy from these big corporations and regret it. They get the wrong information and their animal gets sick. They pay big vet bills only to find they were told the wrong set up. Then their reptile dies or they pawn it off to a rescue and never want one again. Please do your research before buying an animal. What they tell you in stores in just wrong. There are many facebook groups out there with excellent information. Stay clear of this location now for reptiles or birds! I used to recommend this place in their old location but this new one is a joke!!!

Jessica did such an amazing with my old man. He is usually vocal and nibbles when you touch his paws and doesn’t like baths. He was shiny and calm when i showed up.

The staff here is very friendly and patient, and knowledgeable about their products. Their prices are also way better than other places. And they have a recurring order discount, so you can get that as well. This place is great!

I filled out a form to have a certain type of fish ordered. I was told id get a call from the manager when they were in and never received a call. After along wait I called the stores and talked with Greg Todd in the fish department who was extremely helpful. He's the only reason I'm giving them 3 stars. I'm very disappointed in the way the manager failed to do her part after having me fill out a form and reassured me shed let me know when they were there and still dropped the ball.

I needed large crickets and they were out. The gentleman let me know the best day to shop for them and said he'd check the medium size supply. He thought he could get me 30 (I needed 100). He came back a few minutes later saying he was able to get me 100! I was so thankful because I live 30 minutes away and was completely out. Everyone was very friendly and he went above and beyond to try to get me enough crickets.

It a well stock pet store. They had everything I was looking for to help set up my new saltwater aquarium. Found a few things I didn't know I wanted for a different aquarium I have setup. The staff was friendly.

I moved since my last review so this is the first time I've been in the Peoria store for about two years and they have moved since then. "Maps" still got me there just fine. As for the store, everything I wanted was in stock and the staff was friendly and helpful as always.

Things are kind of crazy there right now with their big move coming the middle of next month. What I ordered online was at the front and one of the guys carried it out for me. Staff is nice and very helpful.

My order was ready when I came to pick it up. It turned out the be the wrong size, so I took it back to the store and the cashier that exchanged it for me with the right size was great! She took the time to check the online price to be sure I got the best price available to me. The online price was $6 less than the in-store price and that was a huge thing for me since I am on a fixed income. Love Petco!
