Our Google GPS took us on a ten minute tour of Paxton (which has a nostalgic downtown) before taking us to the Paxton Family Restaurant which is actually just a few seconds west of the I-57 exit!The building is non- descript from the outside, but the atmosphere inside is small-town warm and friendly. Bree, our server, was quick to offer Specials and advice. I ordered the Italian Beef and fries, because in my experience, it tells a lot about a restaurant. It was very good, REAL beef roast, not some paper-thin slices of processed meat. The beef was tasty, piled high, covered with cheese, and tender. It was one of the best I've had! It was served with au-jus and thick fries.I was also given a big slice of a three layer chocolate cake because it was my birthday!We make the trip to Champaign often and will make the Paxton Family Restaurant a frequent stop! It was everything you hope to find in a rural, home-town restaurant!

I met a friend for brunch. I got the peach and strawberry crepes, which were very good, and the chicken tenders with mashed potatoes and gravy for a to-go order for my daughter, she enjoyed them. My only complaint is that when they gave me the to-go bag, the containers were at an angle, leaking gravy all over. Leaking gravy aside, I will likely bring my family to dine in. The only reason I gave three stars to food is because this was my first time here and we only ordered the two meals.Parking: It looked as if people just put their vehicles wherever they saw fit, whether it was a real parking spot or not.

Service was amazing our server was very attentive and made us feel welcomed, everyone’s food was sooo good and came out very quickly!! We stopped here based off the reviews and they did not disappoint! Highly recommended, it was pretty loud because it was so packed but definitely don’t let that stop you! The owners are super hospitable and friendly! Certainly enjoyed our meal, the steak, and pancakes had a lot of flavor.

My son-in-law and I had the great privilege of visiting - for the first time, this morning - the Paxton Family Restaurant. It was a highlight of my trip to Paxton to visit family. I found that this establishment sets a new standard for restaurants - one of cleanliness, beautiful interior decor, friendly, gracious waitresses, extensive menu, delicious food, reasonable prices, easy accessibility, roomy parking and peaceful ambience. I look eagerly forward to my next trip to Paxton, and I wish Paxton Family Restaurant the very best of success -- though I am sure my wishes are superfluous and that their own excellent policies will cause them to flourish.

We were on a road trip and stopped to eat. Both had the breakfast burrito. The outside was light and flaky and the inside was filled with eggs, meat, hash browns, and meat. Very yummy.

We had breakfast at Paxton Family Restaurant and were very impressed with the friendly and excellent service. Someone was always there to refill our coffee without asking. The food was delicious also. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Stopped for a road trip lunch and it was fantastic. Excellent food and service. Clean. Friendly. LOVED the chicken dumpling soup. Definitely recommend.
