Was able to get some dog treats and leash from their share box. The people there were very friendly. Several years ago I adopted a dog from here and they were very nice then also. I would recommend this place for you dog needs and adoption.

The lady that is over Edgar County Animal Shelter is probably the most dedicated County officer we have. How many other's would work 7 days a week , 14 to 16 hour days with very little help, year after year??? She must be an angel?

Amazing communication on Facebook. Responded to me quickly and was able to meet the dogs at their shelter. The people at the shelter were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, the dog I chose to adopt was not a good fit for me so I was able to give the dog back and they refunded me. If I ever feel like giving it another shot I will definitely consider this place again. I can tell they really care about their animals there.

I adopted an amazing dog from there I had just lost my beloved dog of 5 years and this little guy needed a loving home and my heart warmed up when I seen him, as soon as he seen me there to meet a dog he got super excited and picked me to be his human, he's such a good boy

We found a stray. I called ahead to confirm they could scan for a chip. When I arrived, she was ready. Before I even got out of the car she had scanned the dog. She then photographed him and took my number. Quick and friendly. She was also very good with the dog.

I have left multiple messages asking about different dogs with no answer. They pick and choose who they answer. I would love to adopt another dog but not from here. They say that they want their dogs adopted but I don't see how if they pick and choose who they respond to. I would not recommend this place for adoption. They literally answer people's post right after mine but ignore me. Also, it won't let you post a bad review on their Facebook page. I tried and it "didn't work" every time.

The ladies, Linda F and Veronica W are two of the kindest people I 've ever met. They were so helpful and patient with me, they are Angels to the animals in their care. I would highly recommend the Edgar Co Animal Shelter to adopt from. Their animals are healthy and well scialized.Their prices are reasonable for adoptions, very much so. Go save a life everyone, adopting my little guy Peso has literally changed my life overnight and today as I lost my baby Sammie to cancer on July 5th. Peso is amazing! The best little dog ever! I wish I lived closer, I would love to volunteer there. Thanks again Linda and Veronica!!
