Can not say enough good things about Palos Animal hospital. This week my dog needed emergency surgery, and everything was so smooth and easy. Dr. Sankey originally treated and diagnosed my dog, and surgery was performed by Dr. Turek. Absolute professionals, that are kind and caring! Every team member I have had interactions with has been professional and friendly. They kept me informed about my dogs care, and gave me the written discharge instructions that covered all the care he would need. Wonderful doctors and staff!! Photo of my dog before he got sick.

You know I was wondering why are animal shelters so over filled. I will tell you why. I called to set up an appointment at this facility. New client. The receptionist says it will cost 72.00 dollars in advance to hold the appointment. Freaking unbelievable. This is so sad. I guess what they are saying if you are not wealthy don’t come here.

First time there, LAST time there! I was taken care of by a woman veterinarian. She was extremely uncompassionate, rude, and plain cruel and not just to me but my sick pet as well. This woman really does not know her calling in life. It's certainly not helping sick pets and she's clueless as how to handle an owner of a sick pet! It was really shocking not to just me, but when I told others.

I have a rescue pup that I have been bringing here for a while. She had a bad start to life and was a day away from being euthanized because her fears were misinterpreted for aggression. Many many thanks to Dr. Shepard for your patience with her and helping me treat all her ailments. There is nobody I trust more with the care of my dog. It doesn’t matter how long it takes, Dr. Shepard listens to all my concerns, explains all that can be done and is just an outstanding vet. The staff is so nice, helpful and friendly. I really can’t say enough. Thank you Dr. Shepard and staff for all you do.

My two Chihuahuas started fighting and this time the fight was pretty bad. I called quite a few animal hospitals and no one would care for my dog, i finally called Palos Animal Hospital and they said bring her in right now, i brought her in and they kept her for a few hours so the Veterinarian could look at her on his break, Dr Mills called me back and prescribed some medication and my dog is recovering slowly but thanks to this clinic for caring enough about my dog that they were able to get her in and help her when no other clinic would!

I came in a few years ago worried about my dogs issues that turned out to be seizures. Dr Jeff did not even care about diagnosing his episodes, but instead tried convincing me to get some surgery for my dogs breathing since he’s part bulldog. However, my dog can breathe perfectly fine since his nose isn’t smushed in like a bulldog because he’s mixed. He just heard he is mixed with bulldog and kept trying to refer me for an unnecessary surgery. Years have passed now and my dog has 0 issues with breathing. I went to a different vet and he was finally diagnosed with epilepsy. Careful to the bulldog owners, or even if your dog isn’t a dog with a smushed face that doesn’t have breathing problems, they might try and refer you for that unnecessary surgery just to cash grab you like leeches instead of caring about your pets health. I never went back there again after that.

There aren’t enough words to describe this vet. Absolutely amazingly caring. Dr. Rachel is honestly my favorite which is saying a lot because every doctor is just fantastic. My Ozzy has terrible anxiety and she was is so unbelievably calm, and moves so slow for him. She also put down our Senior girlie and was close to tears along side of us. She made the process so smooth, she never rushed us, she never made us feel uneasy. The front desk was absolutely amazing. I can’t thank each of them enough for the care they give our fur babies

I have brought my dogs to Palos Animal Hospital for the last 15 years. Prior to coming to Palos, I utilized other vet facilities in the area for years and I can definitely say Palos is by far the most professional, best staffed, clean and accommodating place that I have been to. I have dealt with primarily 3 vets but others on short notice. Dr.'s Kleven, Shepherd and Mills have helped me and my animals through a lot of tough times. They continue to council me by phone with issues I have with my senior dog that is hard to transport for in person visits. They always give all the time you need to ask questions and they offer solutions, treatments and consolation. I am so thankful for this facility and for the caring doctors that work there. I highly recommend them to everyone.

Dr. Turek is an angel. She goes above and beyond to support the well-being of our dogs, even supporting us from afar when I was stuck out of the country with Covid and our dog needed treatment. She has also helped us navigate difficult health issues with our dogs with compassion. Even though we’ve moved farther away, I will continue to drive to Palos Animal Hospital to make sure my boys keep seeing Dr. Turek.And a special shoutout to Dr. Rachel who helped keep me calm when one of our dogs had a health crisis. Those two women are amazing.

This place was awesome and super easy to make an appointment. My cats both had an ear mites problem and they took them in right away when we arrived. The doctor and staff were super friendly and caring, and helped me understand what was going on with my cats. My little old man usually doesn't like being handled but to my surprise, he let the vet clean his ears out and be held! Truly amazing and I am definitely coming here no questions asked if anything else came up again.

Let me start this by saying that Dr. Jeff at Palos Animal Hospital is simply AMAZING. I wish i could give him 10 stars instead of just 5! I experienced a horrible tragedy where my sweet puppy was brutally attacked by stray dogs & had to be rushed to get emergency care. After taking him to a location where the vet and assistant offered absolutely NO help, I was forced to frantically search for a location that would help my poor injured fur baby. I know now that it was only GOD that my husband and I stumbled upon Palos Animal hospital. Upon entering the facility I was clearly visibly distraught & Dr Jeff IMMEDIATELY took my bleeding puppy from my arms and kicked into action. He showed a level of compassion that you don't see much in the service industry today. He quickly provided anesthetic to comfort my sweet dog & relieve his pain. Although my dog's injuries were too severe & he did not survive the attack, I took great comfort in how amazingly well he was treated in his final hours. Dr. Jeff made sure that not only did my sweet baby feel loved at such a dreadful time, he also took time to explain and comfort my husband and I during this nightmare. Words will never be sufficient to express just how much his professionalism & genuine compassion during one of the worst days of my life will always mean to me. One day after I'm done grieving the loss of my amazing puppy, I'll be ready to love another dog. When I do, Dr.Jeff & Palos Animal Hospital will be the ONLY place I take him/her for care. I brought my cat in since she was dropping tons weight. The girls were so nice and gentle with my cat! They ran some tests and Dr. Wall found that my cat had a over-active thyroid, and she gave me numerous options for treatment. I am so pleased with their professionalism and their compassion for my cat and other animals that receive care there!

I have always had a great experience with the hospital and the staff. The doctors take the time to listen to me and do a full evaluation when a I notice a problem with my dog. I don't feel rushed and they explain the treatment plans in detail.

I brought my little dog Cooper in for a rabies vaccine and to get his nails trimmed. They explained how they'd do the rabies vaccine, and would try to get his nails. Because he was so excited, they said he may need an anxiety med to calm him down and I could bring him back. Dr. Sarah Turek was able to do both right then and there. I couldn't have asked for a better experience, thank you so much. She treated Cooper as if he were her own. I'm not one to leave reviews, but thought this should be shared for anyone looking for a caring veterinarian. I would highly recommend Dr. Turek at Palos Animal Hospital.

Palos is a 40-minute drive from our house and I wouldn't think of going anywhere closer. The staff and doctors are friendly and more importantly empathetic to the needs of not only our pets but their owners. We had to make say goodbye to our sweet Shelby this weekend and Dr Jeff Sankey made an impossible situation bearable. Thank you all so much for what you've done for Shelby over the years.

My girlfriend brings her dog here for annual checkups. It's larger than most animal hospitals/vets that I've used before, with a fairly large waiting area. They seem to be quite efficient. The two times I've come here with her and Baby Girl (the dog) have been pleasant experiences. The veterinarians are very professional and the office staff are very friendly and helpful. There's lots of parking in the rear behind the building.

When I first got my puppy we brought her here. We saw a few different vets and they all seemed OK. Everyone loved her when she was a tiny pitbull who could still be carried and they all fawned over her. Well that quickly changed when she become a strong pitbull who needed to get spayed. First of all, when I called to get an update, the vet was extremely short with me and didn't tell me much. When it was time to pick her up, theymade me wait an hour to see her and didn't give me any updates on what was taking so long, but quickly catered to everyone else. When it was time to get the stitches out they told us she is a mean and aggressive dog and proceeded to drag her down the hallway, choking her, because she was afraid to go with them. While our dog may be made of all muscle, she is the sweetest dog. We took her to training and she loved playing with the little dogs there and when we take her to get groomed, while she's petrified, all she does is shake. Both the trainer and groomer said if she was a mean dog that she would be biting them but she never did and never shown any aggressive behaivor. Whatever they did to our poor baby the day she got spayed was due to their prejudice against pitbulls and I hate to think what they may have done to her behind closed doors if they were willing to hurt and neglect our dog so easily in front of us. There's no excuse to drag a dog who is obviously petrified of you. We stopped taking her there once the stitches were out and found a vet who truly loves our pitbull. Please, if you have a pitbull and want to take them to palos vet please, please don't. They don't care about them and will treat them in a way that would make them act out of character. Take them to a vet that will not abuse them and drag them down the hallway.

We had a very traumatic experience tonight- our beloved dog got hit by a car. Thank God he survived with no major injuries. We can't thank Dr. Mills and the staff enough. Dr. Mills was so thorough in examining him, informing us of what was going on & giving directions for his care. They stayed well past closing time to ensure he was stable and able to go home. They comforted us and our children during this awful experience. This office showed truly exceptional care.

I have been taking my furbabies to Palos Animal Hospital for over 30years now. I would recommend Palos Animal Hospital to anyone and everyone in need of pet care. Palos Animal Hospital must have searched the globe to find all the best Veterinarians, Techs, front desks staff and everyone involved. Palos Animal Hospital has helped me through losing pets and saving pets. I know they will do their best to keep your pet happy and healthy. Dr. Jeff Sankey, Dr. Sheppard, Dr. Wall, Dr Turek, Dr. Klevin, Dr. Mills are all the greatest veterinarians I have ever met. I have had everyone of them for all my pets care for many, many years. Everyone great in their skills.. Not to pick a favorite because I would have any one of them to take care of my pets, but Dr JeffSanky is just phenomenal. I was going through a very bad crisis with Dr. Jeff right there doing what he does the best. I know he kept my furbaby alive as much as his expertise would allow, and also let me know when it was her time to Cross the Rainbow Bridge. My baby was leaving me. Dr. Jeff Sankey was so kind and considerate of my feelings, he was the one who made me feel I made the right choice for my baby. Without him thereI don't think I would of been able to go on without my baby. So I think I let everyone know that Palos Animal Hospital is my choice and I can feel confidant about recommending them to all. I know this is long but I just can't say enough about everyone at Palos Animal Hospital. They are all fantastic Doctors and staff, going well beyond what is expected of them. I would trust anyone of them with the health of my furbabies. I'm going to give Dr. Sankey just a bit more shout out, for Dr Sankey went over what I expected, with kindness and sympathy more than would of been expected of anyone of them. I truly believe he kept my baby alive, to give me as much time as he could. My husband and I are very new furparents of an 11 week old puppy. We took him home from his mom's rescue foster humans just a little over 2 weeks ago and made an appointment with Palos Animal Hospital for general puppy planning and check-up. We chose PAH because not only bc we were looking for a vet within our community, but the reviews online were very positive. During our appointment, Dr. Sankey (Jeff) spent over an hour explaining so much of what I would need to know about our new addition to the family. Little did I know when I left there 2 weeks ago, that we would be rushing our pup in near closing time, gravely ill. The short story is, I took my pup for a walk, stopped at a neighbors where my pup walked around the lawn, walked back home, pup played around in grass on my lawn and as soon as I took him off leash and brought him inside, he lay limp in his bed. I looked in his eyes, they were pouring 'tears' from his eyes, put my hand under his mouth and the saliva started pouring out. Within 20 minutes of him finishing his walk, he was being rushed into PAH, still in his bed and diarrhea was beginning. Well, Beau is back home resting tonight and seems well on his way back to his puppy self! We wouldn't have expected the emotions we went through last night since we are so new to owning our new pet, but it was sad coming home without him last night. Tonight we feel grateful for choosing PAH - the staff are amazing and we really aren't sure if we would still have lil Beau today if it weren't for Dr. Jeff. He treated our pup and his humans in a very touch and go situation and I believe he was able to save his life because of his expertise in his field, his quick thinking and collab with others doctors in the field. When Beau was stable, we brought him to Premiere where he received awesome care as well! Thank you PAH for keeping your doors open late to make sure Beau was stable enough for us to take him to the next hospital and taking such excellent care of him (and us) yesterday!PS... For those wondering, the suspect of illness was Beau likely ingested a muscarine mushroom - toxic/poison which caused lactating, salivating, diarrhea, vomiting, etc. He was with me the whole time on his leash and although he sniffs everything, chases leaves and chewed a stick - we did not see him 'eat' anything and still can't pinpoint exactly when/where he ingested it but he'll be in a bubble for awhile now!
