First time with Nick, he was kind to our Toby (mini cockapoo). We love our pup with curly long hair but he was long overdue for a cut, we knew he was matted. Nick was honest and professional with his services. He called us after bath time to let us know the style we want will not be achievable this time as Toby needed a good shave due to matting. The fact that he called us to make sure we were ok with this decision shows that he truly cares and we were very appreciative. Great job we love our Toby’s healthy cut

I go here all the time they do an excellent job although one thing I would recommend is not making your appointments through phones. Every time you will call, you will get a lady with an attitude behind the phone line. It almost seems like these women want you to do the work for them again nice work but work on the nasty attitudes on the phone…

Nick did an excellent job on our dog. He was very kind and knowledgeable. I like how the grooming is separated from the rest of store. Inside the store on the right side behind glass walls/door. The cashier was also very polite and kind. I felt like they truly appreciated our business. Would definitely recommend this Petco for all of your pets needs. Sincerely, Becky and her family

I have been taking my Pomeranian to Breanna since he was a puppy. She is the only groomer I trust. The way she scissors him is always perfect. There is not a single hair that is out of place. She is also such a sweetheart and treats him like it it is her own doggy. I have been to so many places with my older Pom, but ever since I found her I am never switching. Thank you Breanna from me and Mr. Milo.

It a large store with a huge selection of items as well as pet services (grooming, vaccines, etc.) my pup Azmarey loves to shop here and has gotten vaccinations here as well. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is because the prices are high. Usually I try to find clearance items or go to Amazon instead because of the prices. I have a Rottweiler and he eats like a moose, is growing like a weed, and can annihilate most toys . We cycle through toys clothes bedding treats etc. …it adds up. Pics below are at Petco, two months apart.I wish there was an area where they had items at a bargain like 20 and under . Clearance items are all over the store and you really have to look for them. I understand it’s a big chain store and how pricing goes at these places.Other than that it’s a clean store with friendly staff and good service.

Terrible grooming experience with Nicholas at this location. I’ve been here about five times and no complaints until Nicholas joined and I will not be returning. I just picked up my dog and she is still wet, has matted ears and nothing was done to her besides a bath. We explained that we didn’t want her shaved just a trim and he said he trimmed her paws. So then why would I be charged nearly $55 dollars. He did express they were low staff so my dog was there for 3 hours and only had a bath done where she wasn’t even brushed through. I do not recommend this location.

We absolutely love Petco and everyone there! We go to the Palatine, IL location on Dundee Road. We loved the vaccine clinic that was held there on 9/16 so quick and easy and the workers were amazing from start to end. Our favorite groomer is Nick L of the same Palatine, IL location on Dundee Road. He’s seen our 1 year old goldendoodle since he was a puppy and he just adores Nick. Nick explains everything to us and his advice is always spot on. He’s truly an asset to the teM

If there is any place I would trust more than my own home, it's the Petco in Palatine off of Dundee Rd! They even brought my dog curbside so I wouldn't to have to take my baby out of the car and into the cold!!!

I came in and asked for a small aquarium that I can put on my desk with just 1 fish. It appeared, everything is not that simple. There is a bunch of little details that you should consider, in order to get a proper fish for certain conditions. So how did I choose it? there was a guy named Wayne, who seems to be sort of Zoo-Wikipedia. It seems like he has an answer and explanation for EVERYTHING, and he was extremely nice!! Long story short, the picture attached is what I got and thats exactly what I was looking for, awesome service, reasonable pricing, great overall experience!

We love this Petco! The manager Wayne was extremely helpful and very friendly! I have a 9 month old rescue puppy named Maize that was caged for 15 hours a day and abused, which has made her unsocial and scared. She has made tremendous progress already and Wayne respected her space and let her come to him! Wayne was very knowledgeable and helped me pick a great food that didn't break the bank! Maize and I can't wait to go back! Thanks Wayne!

Had my pup rip a nail and looked like a murder scene in the back of my truck. Stopped by to pick up some styptic powder.Cheyanne led me to powder and was very nice. She asked what was going and started to provide the best options.Nick the groomer overheard our conversation, and offered to take a look at my pup. He came out to my truck and helped me out with applying the powder.Staff really went above and beyond. They were over the top nice and helpful.

I went in a few days ago to buy some mice to keep as pets, they didn’t have the kind I wanted however I saw two little dwarf Hamsters and I couldn’t leave with out them.Cheyenne was beyond helpful and knowledgeable she helped us pick a habitat and all food and treats we needed.

Terrible customer service, went to this location looking for dog boots . We had called prior to coming and were told there were two pairs left . Upon coming we had asked one of the older male associates and he had said there were no more left without even looking. I had said we were told there were two available when we called. The man rudely said they had some in stock , not the ones we were looking for . I had to ask the man to show us where they were and with such a terrible attitude he directed us. Terrible customer service!

Disappointed with the grooming. I had taken my dog to get bath, nail trim and teeth cleaning (value $60+) when my husband picked up my dog to bring him home. The nails were barely trimmed. His teeth were not cleaned and he smelled just like normal shampoo when he usually gets one that leaves him smelling amazing for days. I called and no one answered. I called the next day and no pick up until this day I have yet to hear back from them. I booked with a stylist and my dog was seen by someone else. Why do you even book appointments for ... I dont remember taken them there, if you do make sure you have your stylist who you booked for. Horrible service

Very frustrated with my experience here today. One cashier woman was extremely kind and helpful when my dog had an accident . While I was cleaning it up, another store employee (Older male late 40s or 50s) was very frustrated with my dog’s accident. I kept apologizing profusely. Long story short, my dog had another accident while I was cleaning up the first and had my back to my dog. The male employee told me my dog had peed on merchandise and asked me to put my dog in my hot car (90 degrees today) and come back without him to make my purchase. I felt the man’s tone was rude and not understanding of dog behavior. I totally understand that they don’t want dogs treating the store as a bathroom, I’m not exactly sure what was going on with my dog today, he never does stuff like that. You would think a pet store would be a little more understanding. Thank you to the young woman cashier who was very helpful and kind. I’ve have had many prior positive experiences at the store, however, I don’t think I’ll be going back after today. I know it seems small and I understand why an employee would be frustrated, I was surprised and confused as to why my usually chill dog was having accidents inside, but I didn’t need to be treated as a delinquent. He should have helped me out so I could cleanup after my dog, buy his food and quickly leave. I, instead, left without spending money in their store after I was shooed away.

I love this place! I got fantastic service over the phone from Chris, he was knowledgeable, helpful, and pleasant. Seemed happy to talk about all my questions. I came in to get what I was looking for a few days later, and Allison made our experience getting my son's first pet so fun and easy! She knew her stuff, was kind, patient, I'm pretty sure she stayed late for us, and we left with a hamster we could hold. I expected to have to train and sociallize our new pet, but that was already done because she had handled them in the store. Thanks guys, great service and we are so happy with our pet!We've come in before just to look at the animals, and I've always noticed this store is cleaner than other pet stores and the animals look healthy. 5 stars from this family! We'll be back.
