We stopped by while visiting Starved Rock. The kids really wanted cotton candy and Tone’s provided! A soft serve cone surrounded by cotton candy was amazing! Kids loved it.

Very excited to see that this business is still going strong 20 years after I first visited in my late teens. Everything looks the same. From the appearance from the outside to walking in the front door. Even the staff has the same feel. The group of staff was in there when I visited were so friendly and even though they were busy our cashier took time out to make sure my son received his favorite super hero surprise. Very cute!I loved this place 20 years ago for it's family friendly vibes and super friendly staff. You still exceed my expectations!

Very busy, very quick service, awesome workers, wait was surprisingly short. Great team work inside and out. Above all that the ice-cream Sundays were amazing!!! Perfect treat for the end of the night.

We love Tone's! It is our go to ice cream treat place in the summer. Portion sizes are big, prices are reasonable, and the staff does a great job.

We love Tones Cones when we visit our friends. We live in Joliet and have a few choices around by us but we feel like this is just different and we love it. I love getting a chocolate dipped waffle cone with vanilla ice cream. I wish they were open year round!

Delicious ice cream and fantastic customer service! As someone who doesn't eat ice cream too often, the baby cone hit the spot for me. They had a line of cars to the stop sign and around the corner but it seemed to move pretty quickly. I went inside and was served almost immediately.

This was a very nice place!.. the people where nice and the ice cream was great! However.. it would be great if they has some sugar free or frozen yogurt. As we had a diabetic with us that got left out and had to watch us eat.

Excellent Ice cream here! A must stop when in the area! They are so popular they come out to your car to take your order in the drive though lane and then have it ready for you when you get to the window. She actually took our order in the street this time.

Got Hotdogs from there. we had a very simple order. 4 cheese dogs. jumbo Chicago style with a seeded bun. and a jumbo hot dog with ketchup with fries. 2 Rootbeers and a diet Coke.The lady who took our order had forgotten one root beer and the jumbo Chicago and 15 dollars were taken from us.. she didn't read us our order back to correct her either.😡😓 sadly disappointed with service. I've gone there for years with my family and never had an experience like this before.

As much as I wanted to give this place a good review I got turned away. They have a busy shack and it seems to do good. Good for them. I’m newer and was giving it a shot. Have an excited 3 yr old waiting on ice cream. They have a long drive thru line so someone takes an order at the window and walks car to car. Good idea. I had to wait 20 mins in line to get to the window. Only to have them tell me the only accept cash. With Covid understandable. But after waiting 20 mins. No idea this was how they ran things, if only they had the girls taking the orders tell people as the come thru walking car to car. It’s turned me away from going back. I called and no manager. No owner. No one in charge to talk to about the issue.

If you have never tried their cherry dip, it's a must!🍒 They also have "baby" sizes which helps when you have a bunch of small children who can't finish regular sized ice cream cups.

Give them 2 stars because the icecream was awesome! But service sucked. The owner I believe came up to our car to take our order, we we’re still looking at the menu & was unsure of what we wanted. Her attitude was very poor! Felt very rushed, hope this improves in the future. They also were not busy at all.

Great place for ice cream after a hot day at Starved Rock, or any day for that matter. It is small inside but there are several seats outside. There are lots of creative menu items, so step outside the box. Maybe get the Kitchen Sink?

Didnt get to taste anything so this review isnt about the food. Unfortunately we were not treated like family as their website says. We are out of towners and were excited to try this place. We drove up and lowered our window to greet the girl that approached us. We ( my husband and me) greeted her and continued to say it was our first time here. Usually we get the " nice,welcome and so on" well this girl didnt even look at us. She said immediately " you can go to tonescones.com and look at our menu. And I'll be back to take your order and walked away" it was said to us very rude. We went somewhere else even our kids noticed her tone was not nice.

Awesome ice cream and variety. There is even a cone that has a basketball sized diameter of cotton candy around it....literally. Definitely stop by here for dessert when you are in town.

Love their ice cream! I really won't go anywhere else here in town, unless they are closed for the winter. But you will definitely find our family there the first day they open! Although the drive thru/parking lot isnt large and sometimes difficult to get too (because the lines get long, alot) it is definitely worth the wait! Inside is small also, not more than about 8-10 can be in there comfortably at a time. They also have oudoor seats with umbrellas. And if you haven't enjoyed a Chicago Hot Dog before now is the time, because they also make great food, right behind Tones Cones in another small building where they sell the Chicago Hot Dogs and more! Both places A must stop during the summer!

Tones is a family friendly spot where you're likely to find all the locals at on those hot summer nights. The soft serve ice cream is made with real milk, not the fake stuff found at fast-food places. Be sure to try the Bahama mama (spelling?), it’s several layers of soft serve ice-cream and slushie flavored ice, all topped with an ice cream wafer and cherry. Rates a solid three, but add a star for the social scene and long lost friends you'll meet.

Wow! This place is crazy busy and not like anywhere you’ve ever been I promise you. There are slinky’s hanging from the ceiling and cotton candy wrapped around ice cream cones! This had my inner fat child singing to the gods a praise of thanks! Try it! You’ll like it!
