We recently moved to the area and needed to find a new vet. We found River Heights through a google search and brought our dog in for a wellness exam and could not have had a better experience. Our dog has extreme fear aggression at the vet and the whole staff could not have been any kinder and were very accommodating to our dog's needs. Dr. Anderson was incredibly compassionate and thorough and took time to answer any questions we had. The facilities were very clean as well. Would definitely recommend them.

We lost one of our sweet cats yesterday. We took her to River Heights for an appointment with Dr Elizabeth Pocius. She was wonderful! The entire staff was great but I cannot say enough good things about Dr Pocius. I wish some of my medical doctors had as good a bedside manner. Thank you Dr Pocius for being so kind during such a difficult time for us.

OUR PUPPY IS ALIVE BC THESE WOMEN WORKED SO HARD TO HELP HER!!!First came here for our cat who got into a fight and they helped her (even tho she is a ball of razors) and then when we got our new puppy we started taking her here- well, cut to only a few weeks after her 2nd vaccine appointment when our sweet but silly girl chowed down on a bottle of children’s chewable ibuprofen. They got us in within the hour, followed animal poison control procedures and used their instincts to do what was best to save our sweet girl! Their guidance was everything when we were all so scared. Most of all they were kind and compassionate and did not make us feel like bad puppy parents bc of this mistake. They also helped us with upfront costs and worked with us on a care plan when we couldn’t afford overnight care- they really are angels and such a lovely group of women who are doing their best to help you in your time of need!They saved our pup’s life and treated us with kindness and respect even when we couldn’t afford the recommended treatment. They found solutions to get her the best chance at recovery and now she’s home doing great!Thank you so so much!And if you need a compassionate vet for your pet, this is the place! Both cats and dogs- everyone is happy!

I would give this 5 stars if it was in regards to Dr. Anderson who is absolutely fantastic and really knows how to work with her patients. Dr. Pocius we had to see because Dr Anderson was on vacation and wow, she needs to go. This was the worst experience we've ever had. She needs some serious sensitivity training. Not only does she talk down to you and act like you should have no place having a pet she also talks down instructions that we're given by Dr. Anderson.

We were recommended by my wife boss. Love the doctor and the staff. Since we have been coming here, we never had a bad experience.The veterinarian has been honest and straight forward with every thing. The staff calls and text messages when your appointment is near. They always follow-up after your pet has been released into your care. I love that. Overall I am pleased and happy.

I had such a positive experience here. I came in because my cat was peeing all over my house and I was ready to rehome. They were supportive of my frustration and never once judged me. They encouraged me to try medication and give it 8 weeks for kick in. Now my cat is not having issues peeing around the house. Medicating my cat was suggested by other vets but never really pursued by the other vets. They didn't really seem to care. But river heights did. Now my cat gets to stay! On a personal note, I'm a nursing mother and as it goes, baby needed to be fed as our appt wrapped up. They allowed me to stay in the room until baby was fed and even offered me water. It was such a sweet gesture. Thank you for making my whole family comfortable!

I really love this vet. The only thing I do not like is how this office will "prescribe" products that I can buy without a prescription and charge me twice the cost. I have had this happen with shampoo for my itchy Shiba and they have now twice pushed product onto my husband for our female Golden's UTIs like wipes and probiotics. I would rather they say "we also recommend these products and if you would like you can purchase them here". Just ask what they are giving you and do a quick Google/Amazon for anything not an actual prescription.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with the new grooming lady and front desk person at my local pet grooming salon. As a loyal customer for over 12 years, I have always appreciated the quality service provided by this establishment. However, this time, I was met with a level of unconsidered and rude behavior that left me extremely frustrated.I had made an appointment to groom my three dogs this morning, but unfortunately, I arrived 20 minutes late due to one of my dogs running away for a few minutes. I understand that being late can be inconvenient, but I was hopeful that they would still be able to accommodate at least one of my dogs. To my surprise, they declined any service for my pets, not even allowing me to bring in one of them.I was taken aback by their unwillingness to reconsider, especially considering my long-standing loyalty as a customer. I have always trusted this grooming salon with the care of my pets, and it is disheartening to be treated in such a dismissive manner. Their flat-out refusal without any attempt to find a solution was both frustrating and disrespectful.This incident has left me with no choice but to take my business elsewhere. It is clear that the service at this grooming salon has declined over time, and the continuously increasing prices only add to the disappointment. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and understanding, especially after years of patronage.In conclusion, the new grooming lady and front desk person at this pet grooming salon have displayed a lack of consideration and rudeness that is unacceptable. Their refusal to accommodate even one of my dogs, despite my long-standing loyalty, has led me to seek services elsewhere. I hope that the management of this establishment takes note of the declining service quality and addresses the issues at hand.

I used this vet for many, many years, Dr. Juriga being the best,but the staff was very good as well.Until 2019 when I had to put down my 15 yr old baby Mason. I was told I could not get his ashes back until I had paid my bill in full. They basically held him hostage. I never got to receive his ashes as being on a fixed income it took awhile to pay off.While grieving for my boy, I had to deal with treatment like that and that's wrong.I will say this happened after Dr. Juriga had sold the place. I will never go back there.

My family has brought our pets to River Heights for a long time, probably around 15 years... and will no longer bring any of our animals to their clinic ever again. Last weekend, we lost our beloved pug at nearly 13. She lived a wonderful life and beat the odds due to having diabetes for nearly 2 years. Our mother took amazing care of her, giving her insulin shots twice a day, making special meals for her diabetes, carried her up and down stairs to make her more comfortable, catering to her every need. We always joked that she was the favorite child of the family.. well when our baby passed last weekend peacefully in her sleep, my mom called River Heights and let them know and inquired if she could donate the unopened insulin. Dr. Pocius called her back later, and proceeded to tell her that there was MORE she could have done to keep our baby alive (liver biopsy, surgery, etc.) rather than offering her sympathies and relaying the answer that my mother had called for in the first place. This was greatly troubling to my mother, as she loved that dog and has done EVERYTHING possible/ spent countless dollars to keep her with us. Now, not only is she grieving but she also feels massive guilt. I must say that the way Dr. Pocius handled the situation truly makes me question where River Heights' values lie, considering their wildly overpriced services and seeming lack of simple compassion.

I brought my dog Lola into River Heights to see Dr. Pocius for a second opinion, regarding a possible bladder cancer diagnosis. I had taken her to my vet in Yorkville and was unsatisfied with her care. A friend referred me to Dr. Pocius, and I am so grateful we found her. Though my sweet dog is gone, and we are heartbroken, Dr. Pocius was open and honest with me about her cancer and the options we had. She genuinely cared about Lola, even though she only knew her a short time, and I am eternally grateful. I received a heartfelt card today from Dr. Pocius after we sent our sweet girl over the rainbow bridge, and it was a testament to the love and care they have for their patients. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Dr. Pocius, and the whole staff at River Heights.

I cannot express my gratitude enough for Dr. Anderson and the River Heights staff. They were unbelievably friendly and kept me well informed of my very ill cat. It was my first visit and my cat needed emergency surgery. I cannot imagine going anywhere else now. I was so nervous to just drop her off but I could tell she was in such good hands. They provided great education and made me feel such at ease. I will be forever grateful for their services and the price wasn’t bad either! I am looking forward to seeing them again for the follow up. I couldn’t ask for a better vet.

If i could give no stars I would, the customer service is TERRIBLE do not take your pets here, especially if your a new patient! The staff is disrespectful and frankly not paid enough to be arguing with customer's over the phone WHEN MY PET IS SICK! I am baffled how they want to take people money for 50.00 deposit OF MY MONEY spent and when someone has an emergency they cannot help or make a time change for me to attend my appointment, the lady frankly stated oh well and I need to pay another 50.00! SO 100.00 JUST TO GET SEEN , I see why several people cancel their appointments with them, so rude and frankly so not empathetic at all! managers as well dont care about you only the money you have, will never come to this vet clinic and i hope everyone knows how they do not work with customers and just CHARGE them money! Please do not come here and RUN FAST! alot of hidden charges and fees they like to add on to your appt. TERRIBLE BUSINESS!

Today I went to River heights for my baby girl kittie Athena just to make sure she had no more baby kittens stuck in her belly. The whole staff was WONDERFUL! They took great care of Athena and in such a timely manner. I look forward to bringing my other cats here for their check ups and future appointments. We just switched over to River Heights from another local hospital and had such a great experience that I cannot believe we didn't do this sooner! From the first phone call I actually felt like they cared about our dog and his needs. The doctor was very thorough during her exam and really took the time to explain everything. The facility was incredibly clean and the staff was super friendly. I am very happy to have finally found a vet that I can trust!

Dr Anderson just radiates kindness. It’s like you can actually feel how much she cares about your pet. My dog has been there a lot cause unfortunately she caught heart worm disease. DON’T skip theses pills. Or take the shot. Not a cheap or fun experience! But this place has made it less brutal. Dr Anderson explains in detail and gives you paper to go home and reread if needed. My dog actually loves going there. She gets so excited.

I recently switched vets and I love River Heights. The previous vet had very long wait times (1- 1/2 hours even if you had an appointment). With River Heights, they get you in a your scheduled time and get you out fast and the staff is friendly. Dr. Anderson takes the extra time to explain what is going on with your animal and treatment options.

We have been using River Heights Veterinary Hospital for 8 years and have been completely satisfied with their professionalism, expertice and compassion for our dog and for ourselves. Our dog has had surgical procedures, dental procedures, routine exams/immunizations and care for a broken foot, and at each incident we felt he received the utmost excellent care. Their communication through all appointments is always excellent, and keeps us educated in our dog's care. We highly recommend this clinic/hospital to anyone that expects outstanding care for their pet(s)!

I've been taking both of my dogs here for about 9 years. We usually see Dr Weaver and she is awesome! All of the other doctors are great too, as are the vet techs. And the front office staff are super friendly and helpful. You can tell that everyone that works there genuinely cares about animals.

We took our toy poodle to River Heights as our poodle we adopted had extensive dental disease and needed many teeth removed. I was a nervous wreck for our 4.5 lb dog to have this type of surgery. However, from the moment we stepped in the door, everyone was caring and compassionate and put our mind at ease. I knew after meeting Dr. Juriga that our Toby would be in great hands. They gave us fantastic instructions for the night before as well as extensive post-surgical instructions and pain medicine. Our dog did extremely well and we consider the extensive surgery a huge success. To anyone who is scared or concerned about the procedure, this team is top notch and I recommend them without hesitation. Dr. Juriga gave me his cell phone in the event my dog had any issues with his recovery. I've never had a veterinary practice come anywhere close to the level of care we received at River Heights. We are extremely happy with all services performed and have a happy, poodle without dental disease :)

Since moving to Oswego Illinois, we have been going to River Heights Veterinary Hospital. Dr Pocius is our primary vet, however, all of the vets are great. Dr Pocius is responsive, a good listener, takes time to go over conditions, and reasons for the care of my dogs. I highly recommend this clinic, from the reception, the vet technicians, and all of the doctors.

Absolutely love this place! My puppy is a black lab and he had to have emergency surgery and everybody stayed late after hours and took such great care of him, I have nothing to worry about when I take my dog here! He is a very energetic and hard to handle dog and they handled him great. You can tell they all love dogs and they really care about all animals! I wouldn't trust any other place with my dogs but here!
