This place is not massive and might not have everything you need but the people here are always simply lovely: I always call them to ask different things if their website is not conclusive and the staff, whether very young or older are always polite, respectful and checking for me their stock or reserving items to be picked up a bit later. I wish there were places like this and people like them reproduced in every single town in the world - in the UK you can only dream to have such good customer service. Well done.

Brenden is one of the employees that always goes above and beyond to make sure the customer is always being care so they leave with a smile on their face. That’s what creates customer retention. And Emily and Ross will always make you leave with a smile on your face and come back every time.

I went in for some hardware for my kids rc car. I got help immediately upon walking in the door so I didn't have to search. Never got that kind of service at a big box store...happy to give ace more $ than I'd have spent on Amazon for something like this. They had what I needed.

Good store with sweet and honest employees. It can be a bit slower to get out of the door here, but it's always worth the visit. Their prices also honestly tend to beat the home depot when it comes to my hardware visits, so you can't catch me complaining!

Very convenient location for me as I am less than a 1/2 a mile away.5/5 for location for sure. Might be wondering why just a 3?The customer service has me on the low rating. No matter how many times a month I go into this store I never get asked if I need help.Very weird, I get greeted when I come in but as associates pass me up they never inquire as to what I am looking for. I am all about supporting local business but 90% of the time I take my business to Home Depot.

Every time I walk in here someone is there to help point me in the right direction. Very friendly service and well stocked for a convenient hardware stop. Amazing grill selection and a nice perk - tons of different hot and barbecue sauces. Always a pleasure to shop here.

The service was wonderful. I stopped in to have the batteries replaced in 7 or 8 of my watches. Unfortunately, they were unable to remove the backs and the watch they were able to open they did not have the battery size I need. Maybe next time. Merry Christmas!

The ACE by me never had what I'm looking for. At this location (Sugar Grove) I've never had issues and the workers there are so very helpful and polite. Worth the distance

Staff is always friendly and can usually find what I need.They probably have one of best bbq and hot sauce selections in the area. Sometimes I'll just stop in for that.Also love that they now have a unique soda section.

As soon as I walked into the store, the retail person greeted me in a friendly way, and asked if I needed help. I needed keys made. She promptly took me to the key making area, and quickly made the keys. Then she rang me up. I thought that the whole process would take awhile, but I was so pleased that it was a very quick and pleasant experience. Excellent customer service.

The good thing about ACE is the people. They actually try to help and ask if you need help. Unlike the big box stores. Great selection of barbecue spices, sauces, and rubs.

Actually stopped at Home Depot to buy some screws. Couldn't find what I was looking for or an employee to help. Stopped at Ace and the employee greeted me upon walking into the store. Showed the gentleman was I was looking for and he told me the screws were in isle 26 which he led me to and Actually found the exact screws I needed. That is why I love going to Ace. You can always find what you are looking for or employee that is willing to help you.

I have been in here a few times with the intent to spend a good amount on a lot of tools and materials. However, each time there has been more workers than customers, and not one person asked if I needed any help. I was a little unsure of what to buy, so it’s unfortunate that no one cared to help. I decided to take my business elsewhere where there is some sort of customer service.

Update 01/16/23I'm not sure what's happening lately, but the last several times I've gone to Ace, the service has dropped it seems. I always try to spend my money in Oswego first, especially at the smaller stores.Today I went in about (01/16/23) 12:15 and the young lady at the cash register was on the phone, there were no other customers. I waited several minutes because she was talking to somebody, but her conversation didn't seem like it was professional. She could have been talking to a customer, I'm just not 100% sure it was. Honestly, either way that's fine. I just wanted her to acknowledge me, and even though she saw me, she said nothing.Anyway when I got tired of being ignored and I tapped on the counter and said, "I'm leaving, you know you have a customer here?" That's the first time she acknowledged me and motion to wait a minute. If she you would have done that in the first place I wouldn't have walked out.Like I said something's been happening lately. I know this doesn't seem bad at all, but that's how it starts. And in the last few months the service has gotten sloppy. I'm not going to spend my money somewhere that the customer is not appreciated.(This original review was posted in 2020)Always helpful, always a smile. Today Dave took great care of me and with good experience I get a great story too. I can go to Home Depot or Menard's but I prefer Ace because they take their time and listen to me. I'll be back

They couldn't tell me over the phone if they had the key I needed to come in. Went there and then they said they didn't have it. Even though I gave the the number that was on the key and what it was for. I waited even after they saw me come in for 10 minutes. Then I had to go ask for help even after they saw me. Not very helpful or friendly

The helpful hardware man lives! I shop exclusively for all my hardware needs at this location. It has the feeling of a small family-owned business. Everyone is really friendly and helpful. I find it much more convenient to shop here than to go to Home Depot where I can never find anyone to help me (let alone find the end of the store that has the item I am looking for). All the front end cashiers they have working there are really friendly as well.

I've been coming to this Ace for over a decade. I've always had terrific customer service. Everyone has always treated me as if I was their priority. The front end associates always greet me as I walk in and ask if I need help. The floor associates are knowledgeable and are a great source of advice. I can't believe I see any negative reviews at all, it's so unlike my own experience. I'm very glad I have an Ace so close to my residence; I prefer them over the big box stores.

Wow! Talk about crappy customer service,,,! If I could leave a negative star, I would.I called ahead and asked about a specific key I needed. I needed 10 key blanks. The guy on the phone assured me he had them and would set them aside for me.When I arrived at the store, I went to the key department and proceeded to wait in line. The guy who I had talked to was there but getting ready to leave. Before he left, I wanted to get his attention and let him know I was there. The lady behind the key counter immediately coped an attitude with me and said, "I've been working here for over three years and I can take care of anything you have". And let the guy go home.So, I proceeded to wait for 20 minutes. Finally, it is my turn. So I tell her that I'm there to pick up the 10 key blanks that I had talked to the guy about. And, still in her crappy attitude tone, she says... "We don't carry those." So I told her that the guy assured me that he had what I needed. So, then she asked me, "Did he set them aside for me? What did he say exactly?" So, i said, "Why don't you ask him?" And then she said... Still in her smart ass condescending tone, "He's gone for the day." DUH, really?So, on the way out, I ask the cashier if I can talk to the manager... And guess who the manager is... You guessed it, the smart ass behind the key counter.When you call in and get put on hold, their recording says how great their service is... And then they compare themselves to the "Major Stores"... What a bunch of B.S.I will NEVER step foot in that Ace Hardware store again and you shouldn't either. Complete waste of time!

Made an order online for same day pickup at the Oswego location on route 71. Got an email Later that day saying they're out of inventory and took the liberty to order it and it will come in their next shipment.I call the store on May 6 and spoke to a nice young lady initially and asked her when will the shipment come in. She asked my name and put me on hold and put the manager on the line.He rudely interrupted me as I was explaining to him the situation and talked to me very unprofessional. He said he dont know when my item will get to their store and that's for me to find out. I was extremely disappointed in his customer service skills and just asked if I can cancel my order because How he talked and that it was false information online. He said very rudely again, that's for you to figure out. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THIS LOCATION and if this is the type of people Ace have running their stores, I WILL NOT SHOP AT ACE AGAIN AND RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE I KNOW TO NEVER SHOP THERE because of unprofessional people like this store manager. Terrible customer service. Chip reader for credit card not reading. So instead of input numbers manually, (like every other store/ multiple Ace stores) they just turn you away not wanting the sale. Oh well will never be back there again. Home Depot likes money.
