What kind of non profit animal rescue organization charges different prices to adopt dogs? Sounds shady to me! I’ve been to different non profit organizations to adopt dogs in the past and have never seen one that charges different adoption prices for different dogs. I also hear that the lady that runs paws and claws also runs animal control… shouldn’t that be a conflict of interest?? and what kind of no kill animal shelter puts a dog on it’s website to be adopted out that’s heartworm positive? I feel so sorry for this poor dog. Any other no kill animal shelter would cure that dog before adopting him out to anybody. This is a prime example showing that they really don’t care about the animals and lining their own pockets with the donation money that should go to the animals like this poor dog that has heart worms. How SAD! She has all this money for a new building for her supposed rescue but doesn’t have a single cent to get this dog treated for heartworms! I don’t know about you but that does not sit well with me at all!

Awesome place!! If you are thinking about getting a pet, this is the place to go! We have 3 rescue dogs that came from CNP that are wonderful pets. They also have a resale shop that has lots of great stuff!! If you are in Olney, you don't want to miss this place!!

Thia place is a joke for a a animal rescue place let alone a non profit one. The animals are not kept in clean areas and it is actually sad. The woman that runs this "shelter" Shelley Brinkley is selfish and that money that people donate goes totowards her dope usage that she likes to keep hidden. Her boyfriends multiple FB pages tell you that they dope She picks and chooses who she likes. She uses her name around town to get praise but she really is a evil person that doesn't care about those animals just her own.

I had to give claws and paws one star if I could I would give it no stars. Shelley is also the head of animal control in Richland county. She is not a no kill animal shelter. How can you put animals down being head of animal control but at the same time run paws and claws and claim your a no kill animal shelter? She takes dogs from animal control and ferries them between the two places and when an animal can’t get adopted or should I say sold then she takes them to animal control to be put down. I know this for a fact because that is what happened to my dog. My dog was not adjusting well at paws and claws and instead of looking for a foster or a different shelter for the him she had him put down at animal control! What kind of no kill animal shelter is this on top of being a non profit organization. This is fraud and she is deceiving people that support her. Shelley uses her name to take advantage of this situation and acts like she’s doing good when she is not. I hope someone steps in and corrects her misdoings that knows some legal ramifications. Shelley is not backed by the APA, ASPCA, or humane society for that matter and there are reasons for that! I wouldn’t by anything from the resale shop either due to the fact it goes right into Shelley’s pocket and the animals don’t see it at all and the items she sells looks like they came out a dumpster. If you continue to support her knowing that this is going on at paws and claws then you are no better then her!

Always friendly people in and out of this place. The owner/operator has a huge heart and a bubbly personality. She loves her animals and is determined to help them all.This is a resale shop ran on donations. So you can always find something.

Shelly and Ernie and all the volunteers are wonderful and they do amazing things for the animals they rescue. I highly recommend them if you're looking for a new pet rescue one. They also have a resale shop to raise the money for vet bills,food, kennels and everything else needed to operate a place like this. So if you have stuff you don't need just laying around consider donating it to them.

Lots of items for sale and everything purchased helps the animals! Cats and dogs are up for adoption at this facility. If you have space in your home for a pet to love this is the place to go.

My experience is on the Animal Rescue side of the House... not much into The Thrifty Store.(...although Aunt Dorie always said that I should "... Keep Eyes open because you might find a Real Treasure in the Thrifty Store...")Now, for the Rest of the Story...For the first time in Years it appears that I have a Stowaway...... Again.(Third Time in better than 13 years, so it's not like We have an Infestation... just a Little Stowaway.)I've been Lucky with the First Two because They apparently were Males... but it doesn't matter because I try to treat Everyone the Same.But if She IS a Female... We Might have Serious Issues...ESPECIALLY if She's Expecting.Now, I am Reasonably Certain how the Little Stowaway got Aboard...(I'm just not at Liberty to say Here...)But the Last Thing I Need or Want is Anything Female and/or ESPECIALLY PREGNANT in my (Wheel) House...or my Galley for that matter!ESPECIALLY A FEMALE MOUSE!!!It's not because I am Prejudiced or anything like that... I just have an Agreement with the Admiralty Above me and They set me to a Mission.And until the Admiralty Issues Orders stating Otherwise, I Stay my Course...PERIOD.So, I have to Try to Trap this Little Stowaway and get it to a Nicer Neighborhood a little Closer to a Natural Environment where it Belongs.Fortunately, Paws n Claws took my Call and has offered Assistance...And may God Bless Them for helping find Every Domestic Creature a Home, too...But, I just wish that the Women that I Spoke with during my visit there this Afternoon understood that if they would Carry Catch and Release Mouse Traps and Sell (...or Possibly even Rent...) them... and then Direct People to a Rural Area Away from Populated Areas to Release the Little Stowaways......and Both God and Nature can be Served.(...we must be Mindful that Predatory Animals are also God's Creatures... and They, too are Hungry during Winter...)I believe More Revenue could be Generated to Support the Primary Mission of Paws n Claws......Which is to Match Domestic Animals in Need with Humans that can Provide for and Love them...By adoption of the Business Model I suggested...At least they eventually Directed me to Rural King where they had a Hilton of a Humane Mouse Trap in Stock... and I did buy one.(ouch! $$$)BUT, I would have been much more Content had the Profit Realized by the Money I spent on that Expensive Humane Mouse Trap directly Benefited Both the Animals and their Care Givers at Paws n Claws.Doesn't that make Sense?Bruno Biava ⚓

A friend of mine has heard about Claws and Paws, so we decided to stop on a recent trip to Olney. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. I found a pair of shoes and a play tent for my granddaughter. They also do a valuable service for animals.

We adopted an adorable puppy for my wife. She and her new baby are inseparable. Such and amazing place, the people obviously love animals. If you are in the area you should take the time to stop by, if you are looking for a new furry family member, I encourage you to check out the animals here who are looking for a good forever home. A lot of organizations can be iffy with donations and such. Claws and Paws is an organization that I trust to use donations in the advertised manner. Nonetheless, I have witnessed nothing to warrant questioning the honesty and compassion of the completely volunteer work done here and I respect the work done by the staff at Claws and Paws.

There is a truly wonderful staff, Some of the most Amazingly Heart-felt Caring, Also, Beautiful and the kindest women, Shelly, a Gorgeous hard working woman, that truly cares for animals like they should be cared for, and The life blood of the stores clothing department, the hardest working woman I've ever met in my life, literally has worked her whole life full time job and some how she was able to put in full time hours VOLUNTEERING, AS WELL, though she's retired now, she still at 65 years of age... wait maybe 70 you can't tell, she's stunning, but in her retirement, She's still VOLUNTEERING a full-time job at paws and claws helping people and animals in need, of that little care and compassion that we should all strive for in our lives a true saint!! The store Claws and Paws it is run by a very sweet lady and let me tell you I'm glad somebody's doing something with the building it sit empty for years now it's got beautiful artwork of animals on the outside and every time I go I try to find my niece's puppy that had passed away and every time I see her she's forever cemented in paint on the side of the building along with other dogs and cats It's a Wonderful building to visit
