Disappointed! Heard great thing on local radio about hosts fathers experience- wasn’t mine-I explained the job he gave me an extended time frame-after dates cameAnd went I text and my wife called without contractors response. I canceled the job after waiting-almost 3 weeks-found out he went on vacation and didn’t have the courtesy to reach out to me. I know I’m a different generation but I don’t understand why aBusiness advertises for work then disregards the customer like we are not worth consideration and are naive if we believe what they tell us. Crazy world.

The owner came to our house to fix our meter due to the most recent storms. He helped us get our electric set to be able to have ameren reconnect service, so that my MS didn't get worse during the heat. I highly recommend them!!

From the radio advertisements and first talking with the owner regarding installing a security light, we thought this company would be great. We ended up wanting a home standby generator installed and that is when things started to go downhill. It took a long time to get the estimate. On January 25th, the MX crew came out to install the light and looked our place over, getting necessary information for the MX owner to give an estimate. We got a written estimate on February 11th, which we immediately accepted. After that, it seemed like it took a lot of telephone calls and emails to get the project underway and completed. The owner delivered the generator after dark, on March 9th and the generator installation was completed on April 18th. Since then, we had a few problems (no owner's manual and the generator not being levelled satisfactorily) which the owner told us he would take care of. He didn't. This past week, after a rainstorm, we had a red light alarm displayed on the generator. Long story short, we left email message, phone messages on both the office and after hours phone and we still have not heard from MX. We ended up contacting another electrician who arrived promptly and addressed the problem.Poor communications and organizational skills sums up MX, from our point of view. We have been very disappointed in how we have been treated. We would never use them for another project.

Scheduled an appointment for an estimate; when the time of the appt came and went, I called only to discover they moved my appt. to the following day without telling me. Part of that time frame I was unavailable and told the woman who was handling the scheduling to please make sure the workers do not come at that time. Guess who rang my doorbell at exactly the time I said I was unavailable? He was nice enough and remarked that “they reschedule a lot without telling people,” which was not reassuring. He agreed to come back later that day. He was nice, but smelled strongly of cigarette smoke (which remained long after he left) and opted to take off his sandals and go barefoot in my home rather than put on the shoe covers I provided and asked him to wear, which was disrespectful and just plain gross. He ended the appt. by saying I would receive an emailed estimate, which never came. No real loss there, as I had already decided I would never use this company after this very unprofessional experience.Edited to add: my appt was not under this name, as I don’t feel comfortable giving my honest opinion when you have my home address on file. I don’t know the name of the person who gave the estimate, as he never actually followed up with paperwork. I most certainly have the correct company; I was a return customer having had work done by mx a few years ago and used to be a satisfied customer.

Generous, pleasant, knowledgeable. Max came by to fix something that stopped working inexplicably. He did a few minutes of testing, and it was a simple problem, and he said, no charge for that. He took time to show me (he happened to have one his truck) an option they like for in-ceiling lights (an LED version of conventional recessed can lights) and we're really looking forward to getting a quote and have new lights throughout the house. I contacted MX through the webform and communication worked perfectly. As another reviewer remarked, wore masks all the time, as did I. I am very pleased.

Not reliable. Made appointment for 2-3 pm on Friday. They couldn't make that slot and called to reschedule to 3-4 pm. Got a call 10 mins before 3 pm that they can't make that appointment either. More than not, the techs probably wanted an early start to their holiday weekend. Very unprofessional. I took the afternoon after to accommodate them. No sense of respect for their customer's time. Got a reschedule for 8 am the following week. I won't hold my breathe for them to show up on time. Maybe third time is a charm. Rediculuous.

We have a 3 month old puppy who decided to chew through our fridge cord at 10pm at night. I was frantic to get our fridge fixed, so I sent them an email detailing our situation and they emailed me back swiftly the next day. They sent a few electricians out to look at our fridge, we're done within 20 minutes and charged us half of what we thought it would originally cost. They were so nice and I felt like they cared, plus they were super nice to our dog and cats so that's always a plus!

After dealing with five different electric companies/contractors. I really believe they are the best electricians in Champaign Urbana. We hired them to wire our garage and to do a few other small fixes. Max offered us a quote within two days after his visit, while other electricians we contacted either took a long time to respond or never reply. When we change our requirement and add more work, Max is very patient and promptly adjusted the specification. Their staff are great. Griffin and Collin came on time and were always polite and professional. They did a good job. At the end they not only clean up the garage but also kindly helped us fix other small issues without adding that part of work to our bill. We are very grateful! Thanks.

We had a whole list of electrical problems and updates for our new house. The electricians at MX Electric were extremely knowledgeable and professional. They wore masks the whole time they were in our home (even when the power/AC had to be turned off all day in 90* heat)! We will definitely be using them again for any electrical needs!

MX electric is our Go-To electrical contractor for all our electrical issues. Recently they came on short notice, diagnoses a failed circuit, replaced the breaker and charged a reasonable service call fee. They are knowledgeable, promptly, efficient, friendly. I recommend them as highly as I can!

I recently purchased a home and the sellers Realtor chose MX Electric Inc to give an estimate on the work needing to be done. As soon as I owned the home, I called MX Electric Inc to schedule a time for them to come out and begin working. Scott, Tom, and Griffin came out as planned, but I had no idea what time to expect them. I called the afternoon before and left a message. No one returned my call. In the end, it took several visits before the job was complete. A couple issues arose (nothing they had done, just extra things found as they went). I found Scott, Tom, and Griffin to be friendly, polite, and hard workers.Although I am glad to have the work completed, I am only giving the business two stars because of their inability to communicate with customers (not the electricians, the office people and the owner). You are told the electricians will be out and they don't show, no one calls. I called on a Tuesday and spoke to the receptionist. I was told they were already scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday, they'd be out Friday. No one showed on Friday. No one called. I called Monday morning and left a message. No one returned my call. Tuesday morning (around 9 am) the electricians show up. I had no idea they were coming and had already hired another company to come out and do the work. Once I called and left a message to let them know of an issue (once again, an issue they did not cause) and didn't hear back from anyone. The electricians showed up, unannounced, at my door, at 8:30 am the next day. In the end, too many times, I had no idea when or if they would arrive.To me, it is important to know when people are going to be at your home. Although I feel the electricians did a good job, I would not do business with MX Electric again. I hope they work out their communication issues. Some companies call the customer to let them know the service person will be there in roughly 30 minutes. I think MX Electric Inc would do better if it implemented a similar policy.

Took over 6 months for initial quote, took 1 more month to write up most of the quoted items, for a final adjustment on the quote I am still waiting its been well over a year now. I give the owner some credit here for making an attempt but follow through is terrible and their office contact never answers the phone or returns phone calls.

I can not say enough about these guys! They fixed a light that was about to fall down and was installed incorrectly, and they found and fixed a potential fire starting issue.They were very respectful and kind! I am so happy we called them. Will definitely be calling for any other electrical work!

Just had a big Ford Raptor with the plates MXCEO on the truck pull out in front of me causing me to slam on my brakes and then go 5 mph waiting to move into the right lane. Based on that alone I'll never use them. If their CEO is that rude with no apology I can only thing machine how he and his workers act on a job. Don't pull out in front of peoe driving a big truck with your logo plastered everywhere.
