Called this place for my dog’s ear infection but they were booked, they had a cancelation and gave me a call right back to get me in. I really appreciate them remembering me to get me in. Very professional, very knowledgeable, very informative, very nice to my doggy and me, very affordable. Let me say that again …..very affordable. I left feeling good about the care my dog got and feeling like i didn’t get scammed. Would highly recommend to everyone who needs pet care.

I have brought my dogs to this clinic on several occasions. Today, I needed to bring my dog in because she has been injured and limping for three days. My family is extremely concerned for her. Upon his arrival, my husband was turned away because he was 5 minutes late. Upon calling the call center (because each individual Thrive office does not answer their own phones), I was informed it's because they schedule appointments in 15 MINUTE INCREMENTS! I have quite literally spent thousands of dollars at this clinic for them to turn my injured dog away. Never will I use another Thrive clinic again.

Overall The office clerk, doctor, and doctors assistant were overall nice and friendly. My visit was extremely swift and by the end of the visit they were trying to diagnose my dog with anxiety and recommended me to put him onto a bunch of anti-anxiety medication. Mind you I have had my dog for 5 1/2 years and based off of a 20 minute visit they assume he has anxiety. They don’t consider that he’s nervous and anxious because he has never been to this vet/facility. Additionally, they tried to charge me to put him on multiple anti-anxiety medication’s, which I felt very uncomfortable with. In fact, the doctor assistant told me “the doctor refuses to see him next time without any anti-anxiety medication” and this made me extremely uncomfortable, because as an animal hospital, you should be prepared to deal with animals who are anxious and a little bit jumpy. Mind you, my dog had on a leash and a muzzle so we came absolutely prepared. This does not even scratch the surface of my concerns for this facility! I received a call today from the office clerk, informing me that they somehow “accidentally threw out“my dogs, bloodwork, and that I would have to come in again to get more blood work done as long as I agreed to purchase the anti-anxiety medication. I WILL NOT BE USING THIS FACILITY EVER AGAIN! AS THEY SEEM TO PRESSURE CLIENTS INTO PUTTING THEIR DOGS ON HEAVY MEDICATION, AND BEING CARELESS WITH THE BLOOD WORK THAT THEY COLLECT OVERALL! Go somewhere else because this place is a no go!

Honestly, before the last 2 visits in the last 2 weeks, this review might have been a 4 or 5 star review but now I wish I could give 0 stars. I suppose the staff is new compared to the last time I went but that is no excuse to how my dog or I were treated. I've been going to this location for almost 2 years and never had an issue with the vets or the vets with my dog but these last two visits were the worst out of any vet office I've been to.My dog is very vocal but I've raised him since he was 6 months and now he's going on 6yrs. In all of that time he has been to multiple vets, been to daycare and met multiple dogs and people(with or without my wife and I). In all of that time and in all of those situations he has bit exactly ZERO people/dogs.With that context in mind, in the first out of these last two visits there was 2 vets involved, the first one was the only one that looked like she had worked with dogs before. When she came in and my dog started barking, she immediately let my dog sniff her and even gave him a treat to get familiarized with him, great! Unfortunately, I think she's just an assistant vet. The second one I believe is the doctor, which is surprising to me. Same story, she walks in and my dog starts barking at her. Unfortunately, this is the first dog she's ever seen and instead of trying to get familiar with my dog, she backs up against the wall acting very weird and obviously prompting no change to my dog so he keeps barking. Her solution was to immediately ask for a muzzle. I don't like muzzles on my dog because, as I've said, he's not at all aggressive. BUT I agree because I want as smooth of an experience not only my dog but the vets as well. They take him to another room to run some tests on him and would you believe it... he comes back unmuzzled. The doctor suggests anti-anxiety pills. I don't like giving my dog unnecessary pill but I agree because, like I said, I want the experience to be as smooth as possible for everyone.This leads me to the second visit. They asked me to give him the anti-anxiety medicine the night before and the morning of, 2 pill doses, so I did. 2 vets involved. First is a different assistant who comes into the room and my dog starts barking at her. She unfortunately has been directly trained by the doctor so she has the same reaction as her. She backs up to the wall and does nothing to get familiar with my dog. I unfortunately had the wrong impression that this was a vet clinic where they know how to treat any type of dog. I let enough slack on the leash for him to get closer to the vet and smell her and let her try to ease him but she stayed on the wall so I pull back my dog and she immediately calls for a muzzle. After I put the muzzle on him, she takes my "vicious" dog to the back for tests. During this time, the doctor comes in and asks me if I gave my dog the anti-anxiety pills to which I reply, for the 100th time, yes. I saw it in her face that she had some disbelief but I let it go. She leaves and my dog comes back with the assistant who says he was very good, what a surprise...The nail in the coffin was the discharge report where they say my dogs' behavior is abnormal because he barks and lunges(My boy is very playful and loves to tackle. I know this is not a trait many would like but these are supposed professionals who should be able to treat any type of dog). It said that I had no control over him in the leash because I gave him enough slack to get close to the vets and let him get familiar with them. Worst of all, they insinuate I'm lying to them about giving my dog the anti-anxiety pills. Why would I waste money on pills I don't plan to give my dog. If I didn't want to give them to him, I would have declined them in the first place...I have no issues with the receptionist or the African American assistant who seem like they've seen dogs before. I'd like to thank the other assistant and doctor for ruining a stable place where I used to like taking my dogIn short, find a vet that knows how to deal with dogs past giving them pills

I called earlier in the morning to make an appointment for my pet I told them all the symptoms over the phone they told me I can bring him in the afternoon and I was told I had to make a deposit to see the doctor which was fine but when I got there they told me they can't see my pet and turn us away Even though we were there before our schedule appointment. This place is a scam they don't care about the pets they just want that money and then they turn you away. If I can give them negative stars I would.

I’ve been bringing my pets here since they opened and every single time it’s been amazing. My dogs can be very difficult and they always are so patient and loving towards them. They adjust to their needs and make sure they still get the very best care and treatments. I can not recommend a better veterinary staff!

The vet and staff were very friendly. Like most places, they offer additional services but don't guilt or try to scare you into getting things you can't afford.Most of all, i appreciate their pricing transparency. I prefer the option to look on the website for costs, rather than wait to be shocked in the office.

Don’t waste your time. I called on a Saturday to make an appointment for Tuesday 1230pm because that is the soonest they had. Tuesday comes and I call to confirm my appointment and there is no record of my appointment made. They have my info and dogs info that he took down Saturday but nothing about the appointment. Very dissatisfied considering I had to take a day off work ( no pay) and now I have to call another vet to see when I can be scheduled in. Thanks for nothing!

This was my first visit to the clinic today and we were treated so exceptionally well by all the staff. They took great care of my dog. I want this to be my forever vet clinic.I am back today with my new fur baby because my other one passed away. My new fur baby is a big guy (132 lbs The staff is wonderful. They are still a 5 star operation. My boy was surprisingly fantastic because they knew exactly how to handle him nail clipping and all. I strive a nice distance now to come to this particular location. This crew is totally worth it!

I would give 10 stars if I could! Our dog has been traumatized by past experiences at different vets and they were so accommodating and pleasant. They did everything to make our dog comfortable, and came up with a plan to get him treated that day; unlike most places who would tell us to come back after prescribing expensive medicine to sedate/relax him. This is the only vet we will go to now. The price was great and they didn’t try to upsell us unnecessary items. If you have a nervous pet definitely take them there, they were amazing!

I had such a great experience when I took my 12-year-old senior cat to Thrive last week. The vet receptionist Jessica was very friendly, the vet technician was as well, and the veterinarian Dr. Marci Eldrenkamp was very personable, knowledgeable, and patient. The clinic is a good size and was super clean. I see why this vet clinic has so many great reviews. The pricing is unbeatable and the staff is awesome. I'm so happy we found this clinic!

First time ever coming to thrive after a few recommendations and it was a great experience. VERY clean, the rooms were bigger which made my pup more comfortable. They also were very accommodating when working with my pup who is a bit shy. Took their time and got comfortable with my pup before doing any treatments. Before I left another customer walked in stating she was there for her appointment and the tech told her he will call her in when the lobby was clear, which in my opinion is so important for everyone safety. Overall a wonderful experience

I wanted to like this place so bad, it seemed promising at first; they’re very organized and once you have an appointment you’re pet gets seen very quickly. Unfortunately I felt like even the check up was kind of rushed , the vet barely lasted 5 minutes in the room with us . My cat got some blood work done that day which was a Friday and I didn’t get results until Wednesday of the next week.. I’ve gotten blood work done before for a pet and they usually don’t take so long. They also took a urine sample and they didn’t get back to me with results or any type of communication from them until 12 days after my appointment, and that was only because I called them and they told me they would make a note for the vet to call me… like I felt I just flushed over 300 dollars down the toilet.

I called and was told I would need a consultation that cost $64 just for them to tell me how much it would cost to neuter a stray cat that’s by our house. Not to mention the $150 deposit to make the appointment!We are willing to pay so he can not multiply and find more cats on the streets. Why people keep saying it’s affordable… is beyond me! I gave it 2 stars because they answered the phone and was kind.

*update* sadly I have to bring the stars down to 2. They're usually great but I was shocked when they cancelled my appt for showing up 9 minutes late due to car problems. Rescheduling wouldn't be a problem but they're availability is super tight nowadays and this was a follow-up to a possible serious matter. Which I'm glad I didn't hold my breath and went over to Le Par animal hospital on 95th and Cicero. They took us in that same day and gave us news that required immediate action. Never heard of a place only offering a 5 minute grace period. Especially when it was completely dead inside.I usually go to VCA but they were not accepting walk ins along with so many other places. I decided to take a chance on this place and I'm so completely satisfied from the service to the prices. No complaints at all and I look forward to bringing my dog and cat here.
