Thanks J4 Aquatics is quaint little store in Chicago's south side with friendly staff and a nice selection of freshwater fish. This is my go to stop for shrimp and African cichlids. Their guppies, and Bolivian Rams are also cute as heck. Worth checking out this store. And they have great deals sometimes if you place a nice size order. A pleasure doing business with you Jay! 5 stars!

J4 is amazing! I've been looking for endlicheri for awhile. He reached out to me and offered me his, he even met me at the local fish swap in the quad cities with my order! I also picked up a platinum bichir. I was really happy with the quality of the fish too, very healthy and not inbred. But most importantly, I got the chance to meet him and his son there at the fish swap and check out the rest of their awesome selection! I was so very appreciative he reached out to me, but even more so that he brought the fish with him and coordinated meeting me at the swap! Seriously he is a dedicated hobbyist and is very personal and a family oriented professional. I won't be buying from anywhere else expect J4 Aquatics just because he and his family made an incredible impression. I will always 1000% recommend!

Thank you j4 for an amazing powder blue tang. I have been in the hobby for over 40 years with fresh water and 25 years with saltwater. I brought the powder blue tang home did my normal acclimation process added the fish and ate immediately. Powder blues are finicky and I have never had one eat this quick. Highly recommend checking out J4 quality fish and great pricing.

Best fish shop hands down. I drove over an hr just to see what the hype was all about. No regrets at all! I bought a Golden base flower horn and couldn’t be happier. Very clean and has a variety of flower horns. Not your average over priced shop. Prices are very reasonable, cheap! Great guy also and has a lot of patience. I was asking questions left and right and he was always there happy to answer . Check for yourself, won’t regret it especially if you’re looking for flower horns. Pic of my Golden Base flowerhorn!

Visited this shop for the first time over the weekend, and I will definitely be back! I bought a copperband butterfly, betta and 3 powder blue gouramis. Sam was very helpful and fed the Copperband butterfly in front of me. All of my fish ate right away and look great! This store has a great selection of exotic fish and the prices are fair!

After going to petsmart so many times and not seeing any results for my fish, I was recommended to come here by one of my wife’s clients. By far one of the best places I have gone too for anything fish related. They displayed amazing professionalism and the knowledge of how to take care of them exceeded my expectations. The customer service is outstanding and go above and beyond to help you out. They won me over and I will never go to any other place. The gentleman who built my live plants for my aquarium has a great eye on how he envisions the display. Jay, the owner, is very helpful and friendly and provides the best professional customer service in the aquatic business.He knows so much about freshwater fish and has a big variety of freshwater fish in stock at his store.If he doesn't have something you're looking for in stock, he can probably get it in for you if you give him time and have the patience to wait.I was waiting weeks for him to get Black Diamond stingray in, and he brought in some grade A rays that look beautiful.I highly recommend this shop to any fish hobbyists or anyone who is looking for some exotic fish. 5 star rating for this shop.

I have gotten fish from this gentleman for years. I have been satisfied with his service and the quality of his beautiful aquatic companions from my first purchase down to my last. He has many exotic breeds many people don’t have and is very knowledgeable when purchasing. If you want beautiful fish he is my go to guy. And I’m sure you will also be more than pleased. Walked in to J4 for the first time today, was greeted and asked if I needed help by a very nice worker, we wondered around the shop and they had a very large selection of fish, inverts, reptiles and saltwater. Their tanks were in very good condition, many had life plants and good health fish, a few had like one dead fish, but not a big deal. The shrimp tanks were very nice and the shrimp must’ve been happy because there was babys all over! Plants were very nice, had a lil brown diatom algae on them but nothing big. Compared to other shops, this is VERY high quality. I will be coming back.

Jay is the best with freshwater fish that I personally know in Illinois never had one fish that was sick or die from him before . Best quality freshwater fish from all over Asia and south America with unbeatable prices . Best in the country with flower horns freshwater stingrays and south American arowanas / jardini's in my opinion . I just packed my community tank with some fish I got from jay the other day in pictures below and some fish I got before as well .Get there fast as stock dosent last very long with the great prices he has .

Went in to the store today to check it out after seeing the store pop up on my Facebook page they were having a weekend sale. I also saw them on the Ohio fish rescue YouTube channel . They have a variety of really cool fish, stingrays snails, shrimp etc. Really great prices on all of them! Store is super clean and everyone who works there is very friendly and knowledgeable! I Just added 4 new African cichlids to my cichlid tank. I will definitely be back to purchase more fish

I really love this place! i go here a lot for all of my fish needs! sure sometimes i can find a plant or something cheaper at a big name pet store but you know what? this man knows quality. the prices are really good too, they’re fair and he’s good with working with what you really need. i really feel taken care of when i go and he treats me like a person not a transaction. i refuse to shop at any other aquatic stores because he just knows what he’s doing, he’s the man! the fish man!! i just bought a mystery snail and a nitrite snail for my tanks and i got two gold back shrimps. guess what?! he gave me a pregnant shrimp! i love this place and i will always be a returning customer. this is 100% a quality fish store to shop at and i trust this dude with all of my fish needs. awesome store so glad i found it!!
