Great shop that's been around a long time! Steve and I have been working together and it's been great. I run a 400gal sps dominated reef tank with many fish. Steve never dissapoints on finding me the latest equipment even when it cannot be found on the internet! He got me a Neptune Trident! If you are serious about reefing go see these guys!

I found Reef Plus while trying to resolve an urgent pump issue. It turned out to be a great break. The owner is hands-on, providing personal service. He's passionate about reefing, and it shows in his knowledge and dedication to doing only what's right. He's earned my trust, and despite a long drive, I won't go anywhere else for supplies and his healthy, reasonably priced animals - not to mention the beautiful custom setup he's put together for me. There's none better.

Steve and his staff are great! I have had the pleasure of working with both Steve( the owner) and his assistant Matt basically weekly for the last 2 months. They are very knowledgeable about the saltwater fish world and freely share their knowledge to help you succeed. I am new to the hobby of a saltwater reef tank and I have lots of questions. These questions have always been met with a friendly smile and patience.. even when I might be a little over enthusiastic... I have only gotten great advice and friendly help despite me really not knowing much about what I am attempting... They counseled me to start small versus trying to up sell me a large tank or system that might have been a little much for the beginner. Reef Plus has an amazing array of fish, lots of outstanding corals and invertebrates as well. Great prices with great advice here locally in north Aurora!!! They are a great resource for supplies and knowledge and my tank would be a poor excuse for a reef tank with out them. Thanks so much guys

The owner is very passionate about saltwater aquariums and it really shows. I spent months trying to get 3 other suburban salt water places to help me build a custom tank for my dental/orthodontic office and they were NO help! Steve (owner) was totally opposite. He had an awesome plan and proposal to me very quickly. He also maintains our salt water tank and it is beautiful. We get so many compliments on it. Steve is very friendly and easy to work with. I have been working with them for about 7 months now and have nothing but good things to say. One other thing! We had a welder patient come in and he was praising the excellent welding job. That is not something I could evaluate at all so it's really nice to hear from a professional welder that aspects of the build not really related to the tank itself are also impressive. I'm going to post a photo of the tank to show what a good design job Steve did as well! It looks like our professional designer did it, but nope it was Steve!!

I've been going here for the last 5 years and they always have what you need. Steve, the owner, is always there to help. Whether you are new to the hobby, or an experienced reef keeper, he can help with anything you need! He has budget equipment or the newest and best tech to supply any level hobbyist with exactly what they are looking for. Not to mention the livestock is great.I had an emergency with a pump failure while the store was closed and Steve was willing to meet at the store to get me what I needed and get my system back up and running! You can't beat that kind of service!

I have been going to Reef Plus for many years and recently I’ve had some issues with my reef tank and I was doing something wrong and he went out of his way to assist my problems and not once trying to make a quick buck by selling me something I didn’t need or just to mask the issues. Steve ( the owner) takes great pride and has a vast knowledge of everything you need to know about what and what not to do to make sure your hobby is fun and successful. The process of turning my reef system back to where it needs to be will take time and he takes his time and Methodically makes my slow down and go step by step which is very very hard for me because I want it all done yesterday,I trust him and his knowledge and I’m going slow and steady to win this race. For this reason I won’t shop anywhere else, even during this pandemic he has always been there doing curb side pick up on any product and livestock etc.I highly recommend Reef Plus for all your aquatic products and high quality livestock.Alan S

This store had a fantastic collection of salt water creatures. The owner very patiently answered a billion questions asked by my kids. He was so nice and made it such an enjoyable experience. The eels were super cool and put on quite the show for us. The huge reef tank was gorgeous. This store is a hidden gem in North Aurora, and I highly recommend making a trip to see it.

Great variety and very knowledgeable staff. Decided to start a reef tank several years ago so I stopped in and I'm glad I did. Steve offered great advice for a newbie in the hobby. Helped me get my tank set up. The fish we bought two years ago from him are still living strong. Would recommend this store to anyone looking for salt/reef tanks. No fresh water fish.

I have been visiting Reef Plus off and on over the past 10 years and when I was finally able to start my fist saltwater tank this year, I knew Reef Plus was where I wanted to start. Steve, the owner, and Matt are so knowledgeable and have helped me get my tank off to a fantastic start! Their tanks, fish and corals are so impressive--healthy and gorgeous. There are so many different opinions and bits of advice floating around the internet that it gets a bit overwhelming. Since I have been so impressed with Reef Plus, I made the decision to use them as my main "go to" for questions, livestock and advice. I have not been disappointed! If you're in Chicago or the suburbs, make a point to stop in. It's well worth it!

This LFS has all you need to maintain an awesome reef tank. The fish and coral selection are great and if Steve (owner) doesn’t have it in stock he can get it in a few days. He is now making custom metal stands that are the coolest I’ve ever seen. Steve carries high end lights and filter supplies at prices close to online. The frozen food selection is huge and all the top brands are available. Great local store!

Steve really is an expert in all things about aquarium setups, fish, corals and apex setup. He ordered and set up my aquarium over two years ago and today added an RO system so I no longer need to buy distilled water. He had to run a water line from the back of my office building to the aquarium and spent over four hours getting it set just right. His prices on fish, food, corals and equipment are very fair along with his fees. He has delivered 20 gallons of saltwater for me once a month for two years and has never missed my supply of water. He has creatively created many systems that help make water changing easy. Whenever I have an aquarium question or problem, he is my “go to person.” You can’t go wrong with him if you are willing to listen to his advice and follow it. If you already know it all...then you don’t need to bother him; however if you need help and are willing to follow advice, he will be a great help. Reef Plus is a fish store we are lucky to have in the Fox Valley.

Reef Plus is exactly what you want to see in a local reef shop. Steve is extremely knowledgeable, the store has a huge selection of dry goods and livestock, and the prices are more then fair. Quality brands like Planet Aquariums, APEX, and Eotech along with custom options through IRONFISH allow Reef us to be a one stop shop. The store is clean, the fish are healthy, and corals are bright. It is not closest saltwater aquarium store, to my home, but it's worth the drive everytime.

I go in maybe 3-4 times a month and every time steve has what I need. The tanks are clean and the fish supply is always changing. Nice display tank at the front of the store. He has live rock, dry rock, chemicals you name it. There is a reason Steve has been in business for a while and it shows in his store.

Reef Plus is the best store around for all of your saltwater needs! This is the place to go! The prices are reasonable and I have found them to be cheaper than other stores and even online. They always have a great selection of fish, corals, and any accessories you might need. If you ever need help with your saltwater aquarium, the staff at Reef Plus is always there to help you and give you knowledgeable advice unlike some of the other stores which is why I keep coming back to Reef Plus. The service is top notch! A great quality store to shop at!
