I went to Menard's on Sunday (I think) to just poke around a bit and ended up getting a bunch more things that I expected but really needed. The guy at the paint area was very friendly and very helpful. I saw his name tag but forgot his name (sorry!) He is blonde and has kind of a hipstery hairstyle. And our cashier was Miriam, who was also super friendly. It was the first time my in-laws from Chile visited and they absolutely loved the store!

Customer service is horrible! We came in to buy 16 boxes of flooring and needed a cart. There wasn't any in the store but saw 2 different employees pushing empty ones. Asked if we could use it to check out and load and was told no they needed it to stock theirs shelves but there should be some out in the lot and I could go out there to get it.I don't work for them they should make sure the customer is taken care of especially spending $700! Finally a very nice employee named Linda went out and got one personally and apologized because she had heard the conversation with the other employees. They were so worried about stocking their shelves before their shift ended rather then taking care of the customers that are there.

Update: worst pickup experience ever, the lady put me on hold for more than 10 minute, i disconnected & called again, a young man picks up, "i will have it out as soon as i can". I had no choice but to pickup because of family situationi didn't have the choice to go in . Never ever again.Avoid pickup at all costs.Very skilled & friendly employees! Questions are answered in details, help is always available quickly!

Overall a pretty nice location with decent hours and selection, but they don’t keep many doors unlocked other than the main ones and very little for the garden center in the evenings. However the prices are still pretty good, it’s just a hassle getting the rebates back. But if you are looking for any outside clocks or rain gauges, avoid anything made by La Crosse Technology. The devices are junk, the clocks don’t keep time, and the company is not helpful making anything that works right!

In the last year I've purchased a lot of items. I can always find someone to help me locate an item and on occasion shoe me how something works. I never thought much about that 11% rebate but I've needed to purchase a large item and the rebate was great, I can put it toward the next big item.

I felt like they were trying to give good service but they were terribly understaffed. When I spoke to a manager in regards to an issue they seemed apathetic. I have gotten great service from the rank and file and think they need more help and managers could listen more to actual concerns instead of passing them off. All in all I'd return.

BUYER BEWARE! I typically do not leave reviews but I am hoping to save someone hassle of having to deal with the same issues. This is the second batch of composite material for our deck that was personally inspected by manager of building materials of menards, Doug. I am not sure how anyone can consider these matching. They are clearly different dye lots . The first batch was damaged on multiple pieces and not matching. The second is not damaged but clearly does not match or look how it is supposed to which is disappointing. . . So if you are considering compositing decking material in color cedar, beware. !!UPDATE: it looks even worse put together than in the pile !!

The worst customer service! Sat out in the yard for a 700$ lawn set and nobody ever came to load it or bring it!! 25 minutes. Went in to the desk they said they would be there. Called the 1-888 number nobody answered. I totally get people do not want to work, this was already paid for. Went back through the gate all the gate guard said was ok. Went to get money back all she said was ok. Not sorry?!?! Is this the way Me adds truly wants to run their business? If so we will pay more to go across the street or down the street. Bad taste in our mouth Menards!!!! Shame shame. Store manager Brandon wasn’t much help either.

EDITED: I will no longer be coming to Menards and I advise you not to either. Dustin and CJ behaved deplorably in this store and lack any inkling of humanity / customer service.I NO LONGER love coming to this Menards! (I still like Tricia as a human- don’t get paint if she’s not working, seriously). The staff is mostly educated, most of them are kind (not Dustin) and helpful. Most recently, Mason in the paint department, was extremely helpful in helping me decide on a primer. As a first time homebuyer, his advice helped reduce some of own mental load! Thanks Mason and Tricia!ALSO I followed up like the comment below said to- no response via telephone OR email. What’s the point in reaching out to management when management is the problem?

Customer service doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. Two yard workers watched me back up to the mulch and then scurried over to the next aisle without making eye contact. No, there wasn't anyone needing help as there wasn't any one in that aisle. I didn't expect them to load all the bags since as a short grandma I'm fully capable of doing this myself.....but as a paying customer on a 90 degree day a little help would have been nice. Guess if I want help next time I'll shop at Home Depot .

They did not have in stock what their website said they had in stock. 15% anything that fits in the bag is a LIE! My purchase fit but was told that my purchase did not qualify. Cashier Linda at the Normal, IL really needs to be trained in customer service or fired! She was so rude! I'll be shopping at Lowes or Home Depot from now on! Too bad Menards because I just started my $30,000 remodel!

Good variety of home improvement items. My go to place to find specific items for the home. Their staff is very knowledgeable on different types of products and the variety of products is outstanding. I wish they carried more brands but overall if I am looking for something specific I will head over to them. Plus the 11% rebate is a nice bonus.

Keep an eye on prices as items get rung up. We had a discrepancy of 8$ on a 25$ item. They did correct it but then we had to be "those people" that hold up the line and get the dirty looks 😒. Other than that, good store, friendly staff.

Be aware of Menards special order. I ordered a product on 12/30/22 and was told that that will take three weeks to get into the store. I got an e-mail on 01/21/23 that product is ready for pick-up. Great! Came to the store where associate confirmed that product arrived. Well, searching the rooms and shelves brought no result and I was told that it is "miss shipping" situation and the only option I will get is re-order with another three weeks wait time. This order is time sensitive and Menards put me in bad position in front of my customers. I understand that that was foul of manufacturer Menards works with but if you took some obligations about getting a product be kind to stay for your statements. And finally - why to notify buyer that product is ready for pick-up if product did not arrived? 25 years with menards and really disappointed.

Update : no one from corporate has responded to my reviews or emails. Better Business Bureau is next. They cannot treat people like this and get away with it.I need someone from corporate office to contact me immediately. I am having a very unsettling issue with Chris Gruber from the Normal IL store.

Great prices and friendly staff, if an employee notices that I'm walking around like a lost puppy they are quick to ask me if I need assistance ( which I usually do as the store is huge) . I really wish they had these in Canada. The items are so much more affordable than the big box stores at home.

I wanted to give a shout out to Larry at Normal Il store. He's definitely a great asset & I'm grateful for his help. My son's home wasn't insulated properly & bedroom was freezing. With tips from Larry & materials, my DIL & I were able to make a big difference.

I shop at Menards preferentially over Lowe's or home Depot because their selection is generally better, their staff is almost always friendlier and more knowledgeable, and the prices are really hard to argue with - especially the frequently recurring 11% rebate on literally everything.

Went to pick up some materials. It was my first time purchasing these materials as I was trying to build a novice level box. It took me a while to find staff to help me get my materials. There wasn't enough staff near me to get the help I needed and as quick as I needed. But outside of that, the materials were sturdy and selection available was great and large. The staff I did interact with s helpful too.

Menards prices and selection are great. Their cabinet Dept staff, led by Phil, at the Normal store is second to none. The only drawback I have is going through security coming out of the yard. There are times I have had to wait in long lines while they meticulously go through each order due to not enough staff. Other than that, a great store.Update 062722 Since they moved the lumber yard entrance and segregated incoming truck traffic and customers, the delay times at the yard gate have dramatically improved.
