This is the best addition to Nauvoo for families of young children. We were in Nauvoo for two and a half days on our recent trip, and in that short time we visited the Pastimes three times. My girls loved getting dressed up, they loved the games, and everyone is so friendly and helpful it is just a really pleasant, peaceful way to spend time together as a family. My favorite part might have been the sheep across the street, though!

This was one of our little kids' favorite places that we visited. They have quite a variety of games and activities, some even suited for older kids & adults. My little kids loved playing dress-up in the makeshift pioneer kitchen, playing a bowling-like game, and playing with the farm animal shaped blocks. My older daughter liked making a block bear climb the rope, trying to walk on stilts, and trying to figure-out some other puzzles & games. The missionaries there were very happy to talk about pioneer times and were very pleasant and knowledgeable. We visited more than once today. One of my kids kept wanting to go back & didn't want to leave.

This was our kids' favorite part of Nauvoo. We strategically went and did all the more "boring" stuff that the grown-ups wanted beforehand so that our kids wouldn't whine the whole time to go back and play.We went in early September and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. It was perfect. We were told by the volunteers that the busy season had just ended and that if we had been there a couple weeks earlier we would've had to compete for space. They have everything for kids to pretend play they are pioneers (dress-ups, play cabins, wooden farm animals) pioneer games, pioneer toys, stilts etc. Plus the awesome volunteers will teach your kids how it all worked.Don't be a jerk and drop your kids off there. The volunteers aren't babysitters.

My kids played here happily for more than an hour, fascinated by what kids played with in the 1840's. Friendly, knowledgeable volunteers. Masters and a water fountain in store to cool down (this area is entirely outdoors).

So many pioneer games and activities for the whole family. Pioneer clothes for the kids to dress up, a little play log cabin and school. Stilt races were a favorite for us!

The kids beg to come here every summer and play whenever we are in Nauvoo. Lots of neat things to see and do at this location.

Excellent place for the kids. Seeing old houses and learning history can be tiresome for the little ones. Take a break and let them play like pioneers.

We love coming here to play games and wrestle with our kids. It's right next to the bakery where the kids can get a cookie!
