This place is so beautiful. Very rich in history. The Latter Day Saints have restored this area. The LDS temple ground is breathtaking as it sits on the hill overlooking the great Mississippi river. A must see and visit place. I have learned more about the history of the church and about Joseph Smith. Amazing story and how they restored the structures and houses in this city is just beautiful.

It was so fun to walk around and see the history of nauvoo. We got a free brick which was pretty awesome! The sister missionaries told us about doing the horse and 🐂 carriage rides. We did them both and the folks giving the rides were just the nicest people with amazing stories. They just carried the spirit with them. They also quite enjoyed our 9 month old laughing and giggling from the slightly bouncy rides.

What an amazing site. It is full of history pertaining to the early settlers of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It provides up-close original artifacts from the original Nauvoo temple. The missionaries who serve here are incredible. They are super helpful and know a lot about this site. I highly recommend for anyone visiting Nauvoo to check out the Visitors Center.

Beautiful, informative. We saw a short movie about Nauvoo and the Nauvoo temple here at the visitor center. There is a desk where you can ask about Land records, to find out if your ancestors owned any land there in or around Nauvoo. There is a model of what the temple looks like on the inside. A moonstone and many other things I didn’t get to look at. There is a beautiful garden too with statues of women, recognizing the organization of the Relief Society.

It was closed when we got there, but some missionaries spent some time with us. They were super nice and the whole place, Nauvoo, was so interesting, especially knowing the history. It’s 12 hours from home, so I probably won’t be back again.

Fantastic visitors Center! We went to the musical production on Sunday of The Love of the Savior and it was amazing! No words can describe how fantastic the service missionaries did. Singing and performing instruments. We had a big group ages 8 - 65 and everyone enjoyed it, even the teenagers! Highly recommend the performance in addition to tutoring around the visitor center. Our kids did the scavenger hunt and even got a free souvenir nauvoo brick!

Clean and air conditioned with nice, knowledgeable people. So much history. Stopping here is the best way to start a Nauvoo visit and gain planning tips. Clean bathrooms are available too. Must use eventbrite to reserve tickets for shows and animal tours.

Really well done visitor's center. Be sure to get the map of all the stops at Nauvoo here! I mean, they'll probably hand you one. We loved reading all the signs and looking at the artifacts on the displays, taking a picture with the large statue of the resurrected Christ, and looking at the scale model of 1842 Nauvoo. Cleanest public bathrooms I think I've ever seen, although we came in the winter with less traffic. Very kind and helpful staff. Not pushy to make us do anything we didn't have time for (such as watch the video). By the way, the Christmas decorations were phenomenal!

Go here to start all your tours. Don't just start walking into the historic buildings without starting here. The missionaries here are ready and waiting to help you explore Nauvoo and answer any questions you might have.They have murals, artifacts, and other memorabilia from the early saints here on display as well as a diorama of the Nauvoo temple on display.

Nauvoo is an awesome little town the Latter Day saints have all kinds of stuff going on there and their historical area where The original church landed in Illinois there are oxen rides on wagons and Clydesdale horse rides there are plays and people singing and dancing and just all kinds of activities you can learn more about the latter-day and their Church. Bring the kids plan to say a couple of days and you plan to see it all. Their summer starts in July. And it's all for free no cost at all you might want to bring a picnic because there are no refreshment Stan's however there are many quaint little little restaurants and don't forget to visit the bed and breakfast if you plan to stay.. Lori is awesome she's your hostess with the mostest!

Great introduction to the Nauvoo experience. This needs to be your first stop. Awesome facility with great service from a great staff. They can set you up with all you need for your visit.
