We decided to go here based on “OLD” reviews, not what the reviews were saying. Salad bar is non existent, food was average and not worth the money. They have an up scale menu and prices with family restaurant quality food.I had the seafood platter that came with salad, and choice of potato which consisted of 3 Big Shrimp, 1 cod chunk and 6 scallops. French fries seemed almost freezer burned or not quite cooked enough. Unfortunately this was a one and done for us.

My first order was to go. I had read and heard about the Chicken Jockey so I had to try it. I got the dinner (that came with 5 pieces) baked potato, side salad and 2 dinner rolls with butter. I took one bite of the Chicken Jockey and my mouth started to water. It's the best chicken that I've eaten in a very long time. The portion is so generous that I got several meals out of it. I couldn't wait to eat my next meal. All of this delicious food cost me $16. I'm really looking forward to going back soon. 😋

I grew up in this area, I've lived in this town. I have never once been to this place. I was recommended the chicken strips. But for nearly $14 for 5 stripes and a measly side salad, I was absolutely disappointed. Don't get me wrong the strips were decent. Nothing to write home about tho, bit that sauce was on point. I'd order just the sauce if I could, maybe I can, I'm not sure. Anyways, I've had better strips at some gas station joints in the area for way less. But dang, that price. The service was respectful and the atmosphere was fun, and lively for such a small town. The price alone will keep me away from this place. It was worth a shot though.

Took my whole family here on 7/10 it was great! We just moved to Mt Morris a month ago and decided to take my father here for his birthday dinner ! The chicken jockey was great! My dad loved his catfish dinner and my husband got the chicken and ribs! Great food,great service !

The atmosphere is dark and cozy, if you're into that sort of thing. Menu is basic but tasteful. The staff was prompt to seat us and the wait staff was on par. Soup and salad were full of choices and everything was fresh. I would recommend this establishment for a decent meal and an even better value.

Upon arrival we were greeted by a nice friendly woman who also ended up being our waitress. The place felt clean and cozy. Started off with a salad bar offering soups and various other salads on it. (In my opinion the soups were homemade not bagged) very good! We both ordered two different specials that we were offered and we were not disappointed. Our waitress made sure we were happy and made us feel thankful for our business. This was worth our half hour drive to try someplace different. We plan on returning again to try some more stuff on the menu!

We stopped in there on Wednesday night for the special, half rack ribs and the salad bar. It was like 12 bucks and a great deal. Ribs are cooked great, the sauce was delicious, plenty of sides to go with it and the salad bar was tasty and filling. Super small and personal restaurant with super fast service. Leftovers came home with us and we were set for the evening. Each day has a different special so call (or click) ahead to find out what’s in the menu. My son has the chicken jockey and said it was flavorful and well portioned. Worth stopping in for a nice selection of good food at good prices.

Nice hidden gem in Mt. Morris! Known for steak and prime rib but has fare on the menu for all budgets. I got a grinder burger and the wife got the baked salmon. Both very good! Very nice owner and waitstaff

The waitress was very friendly and helpful when we asked questions. They also have fantastic chicken! They offer a salad bar with select dishes which was also neatly set up and convenient. Overall, it's a really nice local restaurant.

You would never imagine that such good food would come out of a little unknown town like Mount Morris. And holy cow do they pile it on. My plate of chicken must have had a pound and a half of perfectly fried chicken on it. That combined with an equally delicious salad bar, made my meal there spectacular. The server was very friendly, and was right on top of refills and getting empty dishes out of the way. I will definitely be back. Google doesn't allow enough stars to adequately rate this restaurant. Amazing. Simply, AMAZING.

Excellent Friday night fish, baked orange roughy and fried cod with a nice light batter. Very fresh and simple salad bar with pickled herring! Was our 1st time here, after passing by this place for years. We will be back to try the prime rib!

The Pepper Mill has delicious food! My favorite is Chicken Jockey, which is on special everyday. It comes with a potato and the salad bar. I do recommend splitting it with a friend because it is a lot of food. They also have a full bar. I love the nice, small town atmosphere.

Great, small town "supper club" kind of vibe. Takes you back in time. Decent steaks, fish, and chicken, with Prime Rib on Fridays.I usually go for the Chicken Jockey and salad bar. The French Onion soup is available every day and I'd always recommend it. No fancy cocktails here. Just cold beer and booze, good conversation, and a true Mount Morris experience.

There food is good but they've gotten in a bad habit of raising prices while cutting down on portion sizes. Hate to say it but they will lose business that way and eventually close the doors. I paid like $23 dollars for a small quenn cut prime rib! Smh you guys need to step it up or people won't come back. I GUARANTEE IT!
