Found out there was bed bugs in the room as I was going to sleep, their policy on refunding is bad as they wouldn't have refunded as as much as they did if I wasn't traveling with my baby nephew, as well the bathroom needs a cleaning. I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND STAYING WITHOUT CHECKING THE ROOM YOU ARE GETTING!Safety: Needs a bit of fixing and remodeling as well as a rework on management. They need to do a thorough check on each room for bedbugs to squash any and all bed bug infestation.

How anyone could give this disgusting hotel even 2 stars is amazing. The only reason it got 1 star is that it's as low as I could go. I walked in the room, and both beds were still filthy from the former guest or actually victim would be a better word. The guy in the office had to call for help, when I requested a refund, and told the person on the phone that I was a dirty word in a language he thought I didn't know. Surprise I know what you said. My best advice is to STAY AS FAR FROM THIS HORRIBLE EXCUSE FOR a MOTEL!!!!!!!Rooms: Filthy, nasty and disgusting.Safety: I would say none!

Well, I was on the highway and really tired so I stopped here for safety reasons. This is probably one of the worst hotels I've ever been in. The room itself was clean, and I have no problem with the bed or the linens. However, everything else was extremely dated and broken in some instances. The television is from 1985, and the phone obviously needs replacement. When I checked in apparently the place is under new management since there is a new owner. My advice for the management is to spend some money to redo this hotel. It's convenient to the highway and could be nice, but in its present state I'd be reluctant to stay here unless I had to.

Was very disappointed I understand it is a cheap place but come on , cheap does not have to mean dirty , my first room had a filthy tub with hair in it and the floors were disgusting and there were stains on the bed and bugs in the sink . We got moved to a second room where there were bugs in the tubs ! BUGS ! Also stains on the sheets. Come on get a better cleaning crew.

They had more in the room that was mentioned in the booking. Frig & microwave & cereal for breakfast. On the other hand, there's a sign in the office that all rooms are non-smoking. Our room smelled from smoke! The bathroom door wouldn't stay closed. Good thing we're comfortable enough that it was ok. ATV noise @ nite. I booked on line but the boy swiped my card & my bank shows 2 charges. I'll be keeping on eye on that!! The price was cheap so I guess we got what we paid for. Oh, bed was pretty hard.

This was the worst motel we have ever stayed at. Zero stars. The beds were sagging a full foot, roaches were running around, and the tub/shower hot water had no handle. The shower head was shot and the tub drain cover was not attached and floated away from the drain. Additionally the shower walls were stained and had what looked like mold in the corners. The tub was also stained with rust color. We would have taken a different room, had one been available. Someone was supposed to come over and fix the shower handle, but never showed up. Luckily I had a pair of vice grips in my car. The bottom line is that I will never stay at another Red carpet inn. And will recommend the same to anyone else. I rated one star, only because this post would not allow me to pick zero.

Nice place with fair price!!! Close to the highway but still very quiet. Clean bed. Steady hot water for shower. Working air condition. No smell in the room. Way more better than the hotel I check in in PA with similar price! Friendly staff!! It’ll be great if I could check in such hotel all along the way to California!

Clean, roomy and 101 has a bed as comfortable as the Hilton. Front desk friendly and helpful. And pet friendly. They also gave us a room at lunch time without any problem.. We will stay again .and marked

Disgusting but it was 2 am I was driving with my kids and it was raining. I hydroplaned a couple times so had to stop somewhere. Sign says $28 conveniently they didn't have a non smoking single so instead of offering a smoking one he did a double and charged $50. There's bugs crawling in the tub. TV remote doesn't work. Room smells. But like I said had to stop

Reading the comments after staying here, I must say I have not seen bedbugs or roaches. The owner claims to be cleaning up which he was all weekend. (Remodeling)For now its a 3 star but once its done I would give it a 4 star possibly 5.

We have stayed at the Red Carpet Inn in Montrose several times and have always found it satisfactory. It is in a barren spot and it is a bit tired, and they never seem to put the breakfast out, but is has always been clean and the beds are comfy, and the showers are hot, and it is pretty cheap.The main other complaints I see about this motel are water damage and mold (there is definitely water damage in the bathrooms, so mold is pretty likely, but I have not seen it or smelled it).The other complaint has been bed bugs. We have never seen any evidence of bed bugs ... UNTIL THIS VISIT. We were in room 114, and a pocket-dial woke us up at 1:00am. As I settled back in, i felt something crawling. I caught it, and it was definitely a bed bug.We notified the night manager, who offered us a 50% refund. I said that is clearly not acceptable. To be clear, he seems a nice guy, and I woke him up at 1:15am. i think he is not authorized to do refunds on credit cards,So, we left our number, receiving a promise that the owner would call us at 9:00 am. That was almost three days ago, and so far no call, nor can I get anyone to answer my calls. I need to try from a different phone.So, I regret that I must give this motel an ABSOLUTELY STAY AWAY.

We got in late around midnight, asked for a room. Told there were no two- bed rooms available, we'll take a single bed. Child got parent to finish our transaction. Paid, got to room, two beds. It didn't feel clean, bed very uncomfortable.Couldn't really sleep, sometime during the middle of the night someone unlocked our door and almost entered, saying something about how it should be a vacant room.

Horrible. Arrived late. The man at the counter was rude. TV was nonfunctioning, the heater quit halfway through the night and when the hot water runs out(which is fast) the water pipes squeal. When I brought this to the attention of the clerk he told me to" not f**k with him" and when I asked for a refund he called the police. Stay anywhere else.

This hotel was by far the worse hotel I’ve stayed at. The beds were dirty. The showers had grim and gunk in them. They advertised a continental breakfast but did not have any. I will never stay at this hotel again.

The room was large, the bed was hard in places and soft in others. My wife found a couple of roaches and a spider. There is a spider web in a corner of the sink.All in all the room was pretty bad. There was no breakfast at all.

Great place, pet friendly, smoking rooms were lit. Only reason not 5 stars is because its in the middle of no where. Theres 2 gas stations, everything else is 20 mins away. 1 of the gas stations (i think its the bp/mechanic shop) will pump your gas for you for $3, so thats pretty cool.

So currently at property. Several major issues here. The front desk people were friendly enough. The *free WiFi" was a joke. You only had signal if you were standing in the lobby. The beds were hard. Apparently we decided to stay on hillbilly fight night and the noise went on seemingly forever. I didn't detect any bugs and I did check. Now onto the bathrooms. The grout in the tile floor was something out of a horror movie. The shower was cracked, the silicone strips were dirty, stained, and disgusting. The bath faucet leaked and has for ages by looking at the drain lever which is calcified due to it. My wife and I travel a lot and our motto is all you need is a bed and a shower. Well this place has half. The bed was a bed and I slept. But the bathroom was out of a taratino film.
