I am not able to own a cat due to a family member having bad allergies ,so next best thing is me and the granddaughter just hanging out in the cat room and loving on all of the kitties! She absolutely loves it, and so do I. I don't think the cats mind either! The staff here is wonderful, very attentive to the needs of the cats. The food bowls and water bowls are full. Litter boxes are always clean. These cats are living a great life until they find their fur-ever homes!!! The cats all look very healthy and happy! If you are looking to adopt, please check out the shelters!! If you just have some free time, go on in and love on the doggies and kitties! Great experience and facility!!

I went to get my sweet girl yesterday, understanding and planning for their two month adjustment period. It’s been less than twenty four hours in her new home and my baby girl Noche has settled in like we’ve been roomies for decades. I chose to go to QC Paws because they were local and kept up to date on animal vaccines and medical needs, but when I got there I got so much more than I could have ever expected. The staff are amazing and so sweet, the animals are adorable and deserve all the most amazing homes. I’m so glad I chose to adopt from them because I met my most perfect friend.

The staff here really care about the dogs and cats that are there. The clinic, which is on Tuesday afternoon, is to help the community get their pets shots and meds at a good price.

This place is horrible. I will never recommend this place to anyone. We called in advance (30 minutes before going in) on 3 separate occasions to bring our dog in to get their shots and we were told they are open. We get there and they say,” We are full for the day.” If you’re an “open” clinic and tell us we are good to show up… don’t deny us when we come in. We then ask about setting up an appointment and they told us,” we don’t do that.” If you are going to deny us coming in, then you need to let us set up an appointment. Unprofessional.

This place is very unprofessional and everytime I go in there the dog cages are horrible and everyone is just sitting around at the desk gossiping about people who come in which again very unprofessional. Oh on top of that the racism in that place is real!!!!

They had a Belgian mail male and we were the very first people interested and we were so ready to take him home however he was not neutered yet so they took down or name and number and specifically told us we’d be the first people they will call when he’s ready…. I just had to call and find out for myself that they never tried to call and he’s been adopted. Worse service ever.

I had adopted a pet name radar from this company they said he was a year and a half old was completely healthy and had all of his shots 2 months later he passed away I found out he had stage 4 lymphoma for quite some time over 8 years old and did not have all of his shots this company lied to me and gave me false information please do not adopt a pet from this company unless you know for a fact all the information is correct

Took our dog for vaccinations on their Tuesday shot day. Hours are 1 to 4, first come first served. I didn't know what to expect so I'll let you know how it went for us. I arrived shortly before 2. I took her in, they took her information and then sent us to our car to wait. We were #31 and they were on #9. The wait was a little over an hour. Once we were inside, it only took a few minutes to complete her vaccinations. The entire staff is very nice and helpful. I would recommend them highly.

The staff are friendly and hard working. Very polite and professional.. i didn't see the facility as i was there for tags but what i saw was clean and sanitary. They are over full so if you can go find a furever family member or donate something they can use!

They were wonderful, so helpful and kind. Unfortunately, I had to pick up my dogs because they got out of their kennel and were taken there. The ladies were so kind and patient with me and answered all my questions. I was able to pick them up and were so happy they were well taken care of. The ladies were so sweet that I just had to make a donation to help all the furry animals in there. I would recommend anyone looking for a companion to stop by. There are so many sweet, loving animals who just want to be loved and petted. They have so many that it is heartbreaking, so please, if you haven't stopped by, I suggest you do. Especially with Christmas around the corner! Also, did I mention they have a walk-in vet day on Tuesday's from 1-4! What an amazing, helpful, animal loving place!

Wonderful staff. We adopted our sweet dog from them 13 years ago. When we're ready to have a dog (baby) again, we will find them there.

Controlled chaos. Staff is very friendly, courteous, and professional. It would help traffic flow if you could pay when you check in.

Had our 2 barn cats spayed and rabies shot here for a very affordable price. I’m grateful that they offer such a great public service to encourage animal population control. The girl at the front desk was the best! Lots of people in line and she was efficient, knowledgeable and made it move quickly. Thanks guys!

Great facility. The cats are happy and healthy. The volunteers here are incredible. I highly recommend talking to one of them if you are in the market to adopt. They know all of the animals incredibly well. We spoke with Julie and told her what kind of personality we were looking for and she spun around the room and introduced us to all the snuggly cats who get along well with other cats. You can see how much they care about their animals and how much they want them adopted into the right homes. I've adopted from them once before and hope to do so again in the future.

They are uncaring as far as I'm concerned. They're not competent enough to tell you that if your bringing your pet there for a neuter or spay and vaccine to make sure they have at least some vaccines on board and to have a boradatella vaccine 2 in weeks before your appointment. Yes there inexpensive but the end result could potentially cause you alot more money when your animal comes home sick. God forbid they get parvo that can be deadly. Think long and hard if you love your pet. Someone who knows good luck

Had a good first experience. My friend took my boy cat to get neutered and everything seemed fine. Now I need to get a female fixed too and I've called dozens of times and left a few messages with my name and number to try to schedule an appointment so I guess they can look forward to a visit tomorrow

This shelter really cares about their animals. They had a nice yard sale and all benefits go toward the animals. If you're reading this and you don't have a dog or a cat please adopt

We contacted Rock Island animal control for a dog that was stray in our neighborhood. We kept the dog in the backyard and played with her and fed her while waiting for animal control to show up. She was the most gentle and docile dog and listened to commands. When animal control arrived, they informed us they would attempt to contact the owner if the dog was chipped and that she would be kept for a minimum of 7 days for the owner to retrieve her. After the 7 days, the dog would be put up for adoption if they deemed she was adoptable. We called a week later to find out the status of the dog, and we were informed that because of the holiday she would be kept for 2 extra days before being adoptable. We were told that the dog would not be available until the first week of March because they did not have a veterinarian availabke until February 28th to examine her. So today, on February 28th, we went to the animal shelter to look into adopting her. However, we were informed she was euthanized because she was deemed unadoptable. They had no record of us calling to inquire about her. She was the sweetest, gentlest dog and was not given a fair opportunity at life because of this animal shelter. I cannot express this enough, DO NOT BRING ANIMALS to this animal shelter.

I have been looking for a dog to adopt into a forever loving home. I went here and the one lady that takes dogs out for you to see is very pushy. She just tells you to take the dog and take it now (in nicer words). She hovers and if you don't take the dog she is rude to you. Most (not all) of the reception staff are very rude and act like they would rather do anything else than talk about a dog there or help you. It's hard enough to adopt a dog again when your life long friend has crossed the rainbow bridge :( but it makes it harder to adopt when the shelter staff make you feel unwelcome and want you to get a dog and leave. They rush you instead of help you find a good friend to take home.I have been there a few times in the last few weeks looking for a friend and felt uneasy and unwelcome every time. Its hard to get to know a dog and make a decision to adopt when you have people being so pushy telling you " if you don't take this dog home someone else will you should take her/him now". They will say anything to get you to get a dog and leave. It's very frustrating. They should want you to take your time and pick a good friend for you and your family. Not rush it just to get a dog out of the shelter.

They gave me a $50 ticket! ...and they are awesome! Seriously. They explained everything, we're very understanding, and acted courteous and with professionalism. They care, their jobs are tough, and they are only human like the rest of us. Keep up.the great work RICO Animal Care & Control - the community and our pets appreciate you all.
