In a continuing effort to try different coffee and tea shops around the Quad Cities, I cam across Iron + Grain Coffee House in a search on Google Maps. I'd noticed the Davenport location initially, but after a recent meal in Bettendorf realized that this East Moline location was a closer drive. I needed the tea really bad this afternoon, so off I went across the river for my fix.I don't often get into East Moline for any reason and honestly, the last trips I've made there have been for reviews like this. I particularly glad I decided to come out this way today, as the general area around the coffee house and other businesses is really cool! The nearby Rust Belt advertises it was once home to an automobile manufacturing plant and is now a concert venue. Also nearby is Midwest Ale Works, another local craft brewer, and Jenny's Boxcar, a bright looking pub/restaurant. I need to get back here again - this whole redevelopment looks really neat! Those first impressions were only further confirmed and cemented upon entering into Iron + Grain. The initial entry into the space is a bit closed off - a few tables to sit, some merchandise of to one side and a bathroom on the other...not much there. The much larger space off to the left of the entry is unique, though. Just about every place to sit looks different. There's some plush couches and chairs in one corner, a high table with accompanying stools for a larger group, and a pool table in the middle of it all, to describe a few. The floor is a plain concrete slab through the entirety of the space, while the ceiling plenum is open and displays the mix of rough wood 2x4s along the very top, large I-beams providing support, and HVAC ductwork running throughout. Lighting is minimal - there are a few strips of accent lights and two unique fixtures suspended from the ceiling at one end of the space. The walls add a further accent to the overall aesthetic not usually noticeable or important in other places - the brick on the wall containing windows along the building's facade is a mix of faded reds and browns usually indicate years of presence, while other walls are painted a plain white or black.I mention all of this to say I really like the vibe of this space. There's some description online that describes the place as somewhere to have a meeting during the day or just otherwise relax. I definitely feel it being here - the mix of natural lighting and minimal fixtures keeps the place feeling comfortable, the music is soft Indie pop, and the chair I sat in was plenty comfy. I can definitely envision both doing remote work here or even getting coworkers here for an off-site hang-out.For a beverage today, I opted for a hot tea, in this case a Republic of Teas Jasmine Green. I also got a fairly large chocolate chip cookie. The tea was standard for the offerings from Republic of Teas - it was a solid green tea that I'd easily get again, here and elsewhere. The cookie was probably a little big for what I needed and wanted this afternoon, but tasted great - definitely more on the biscuity side of cookies rather than the cake-y side. I ate about half and saved the rest for later. The barista was really nice and got my tea for me quickly. All in all, this was a great experience today. I wish the space were closer to home in Bettendorf, but I definitely want to come back here soon. I'm looking forward to trying Jennie's Boxcar and Midwest Ale Works on a future visit to the area. Thanks Iron + Grain, I really like what you're doing here!Vegetarian options: The tea and the cookie I had were both technically vegetarian. The same can probably be said for the coffee and other pastry offerings.Dietary restrictions: Coffee, with the proper restriction on additions to it, can be a welcome addition to a keto diet.Parking: There is a free parking lot with ample spaces immediately outside the Coffee House.Kid-friendliness: Kids would likely be welcome in the space. Nobody seemed anti-child during my visit here.Wheelchair accessibility: The front entrance is wheelchair accessible.

My days of small, local coffee shops may be coming to an end. This was my first visit to Iron and Grain (Davenport location). I got a 20oz. hot peppermint mocha that was an ASTOUNDING $7.50. The atmosphere was OK - the teal couch was dirty and sunken in, and most of the music played during the two hours we were there was country. Just not the overall coffeehouse atmosphere I'm after. The mocha was good (not great), but at $7.50, I just can't afford that!

Coffee is good. Not roasted by them or anything special. Ordered 2 16 oz lattes. 18$! For the small option. Who runs this place? The drink was fine done well. But 9$ for a small? What is justifiable about the prices? and then sent out a paper for a tip. Are you kidding at this point? Went to the silvis location twice. First time they had a note saying they would be back sometime soon they were on lunch… went again today at 2:40 pm and a young lady says sorry we just closed. Door says open? Hours say open until 3pm. So did the lady just pick when she wanted to close or who she wanted to serve? I’ll stick to redband across the bridge roasted beans in house much more affordable prices. And a better atmosphere. They also close when they say they close at 2 pm sharp. Get it together iron and grain. Can’t expect to pay your salary on something that’s not justifiable. Do better.

What a lovely space down by the River Bend in East Moline. I’ve had the London Fog, Matcha tea, Lavender something (amazing) Chai latte and other specialty drinks they post about...every single one has been delicious! Today we wanted to enjoy the nice spring weather so we decided to work from their outdoor patio..perfection! We had the Cobb salad and the Hot Ham sandwich both were so delicious. We will be back...it was such a nice environment to work in and we always enjoy any excuse to buy a nice beverage.

Today is my first time coming. After looking through all the local spots, I decided on this one. I’m not from here, and really needed my coffee fix. Staff was not friendly, at least the girl wasn’t. She wouldn’t even look at me. I decided to still stay and sit to drink my coffee. She was much friendlier to the older man that ordered after me… weird. Coffee is okay much better than Starbucks. Maybe, next time I’ll have better service. 😊

I went to Iron + Grain for the first time today, and I loved it! I ordered a blueberry vanilla iced latte, made with their in house blueberry simple syrup. It was AMAZING! I would definitely order it again, and I love the creativity in their menu. I also ordered the grilled cheese with bacon with a side of pasta salad. Both were so delicious and well made. The employees were friendly. I will definitely be back!

Had to try the WOE breakfast pizza. It's delicious and worth driving away from the interstate. I ordered online and picked up in the drive through. Pleasant and friendly staff

Great Coffee, Great study and collaborative space. I think the Iron Grain site is the new best kept secret of the Quad Cities. It is basically in East Moline just past The Bend hotel on the west side of the road. There are large table spaces, couches, small tables, tall tables, and actually decent acoustics to talk and listen to chillax music. The staff was super helpful too! We were there when there were few people. I hope this review gets more people to visit. There is also a really cute boutique on one side which sells reasonably priced women’s clothing and gifts. I got a beautiful dress for $20.In addition, there are other cute places here including a local brewery which my DH and I visited a month ago. Illinois is annoying because you have to wear the masks everywhere but don’t let that deter you from enjoying a great environment and great coffee and sandwiches. Parking is good and there is cute outdoor space to enjoy the Midwest weather. .

I stopped at the new Davenport store today for a quick business meeting and lunch. The atmosphere and location are nice, and my latte was great. My $8 Hot Ham & Cheese was a huge disappointment, though. It consisted of a packet of Buddig ham slapped between two pieces of Wonder Bread with some questionably-textured shredded cheese melted on top. For a coffee shop that was created by architects and artisans, I definitely did not get the impression that artistry was considered in the making of this sandwich. I'd come back for coffee, but not food.

I’m from Chicago, and had a weekend getaway in Davenport and we found this charming Coffee Lounge. The drink menu is very artisan this S’more Cold Brew is the best I’ve ever had and the apple overnight oats. I was wearing my Trex Mask and they remembered 🦖 - such great energy and I’ll be back! The lounge atmosphere I could hang out in all day. Thanks for making it so special. Shop Local.

Great coffee, friendly staff, very cool space! The coffee is high quality at affordable prices. I love having the option of sitting in the shop to get some work done or going through the drive thru if I’m on a time crunch. I would highly recommend Iron + Grain to anyone looking for a good cup of coffee and a cool atmosphere!

Visiting from Chicago and stumble upon this coffee spot. Customer service is good. The prices are on the pricey side. I would say their prices are closer to what you would find in downtown Chicago. My bf and I work from home and we stayed in this coffee shop for about 4hrs. The Wi-Fi is also great!

Cute spot, but friends and I wont return. So much potential with the location but with the prices....it may not last. The sandwich was okay, not great, and the S'Mores cold brew was terrible, and $8. I'm a pretty easy to please coffee fan so I'm surprised that I didn't like it in the least bit. Will continue to stop at McDonalds or the gas station for better tasting $3 coffees. Otherwise service was great.

2 stars because the price. Over $7 for a SMALL iced matcha! I couldn’t believe it. It was good but not worthy of that price in my opinion. If it was a little cheaper I’d definitely go back but there are plenty of other coffee shops that have better prices.

I ordered the salted honey cold brew and the barista confidently told me it was going to be an 11.5 of out 10. Well he was wrong. It was an easy 12. Right up there with the best coffee in the QC. Great service and great coffee.

Great coffee and space, I hate the self check out. There was no chai latte option on the self check out, and half of the specialty drinks were missing. I was planning on paying with cash but I couldn’t. I had a coupon from QC coffee trails that I could not redeem, and there was no student discount option, and I couldn’t get my card punched.I understand that I could have rang the bell, but the drive thru seemed busy and I did not want to inconvenience or annoy the workers, and even if it wasn’t busy my social anxiety would have prevented me from asking for help, especially when I had so many questions. This won’t turn away everyone, and it is my fault for being socially awkward, but I probably won’t return for a long time because I do not want to deal with it again. But the coffee and food was good.

Stumbled across this place (not from QC) looking for a cup of quality coffee. Service was great! Ordered hot Americano and a green tea. Wonderful! Kudos, Iron Grain! We’ll be back when we’re in the area!

I have been to this location twice and the lady at the drive thru has been super nice and quick with my orders. The WOE pizza is a must have and the cold brew coffee is super refreshing. I would highly recommend this place and I will continue supporting them!

Took my mother and sister here while on vacation and we were all raving about how delicious our breakfast sandwiches, muffins, cinnamon roll, AND the coffee were. All items were 10/10 🤩. Plus the seating area was comfortable and cute.
