My mom Melanie Hicks used to volunteer here. She loved it and Vickie is amazing. They truly care about animals.

Wonderful no kill shelter. There are so many cats here, you're sure to find one you like...or two! (Or five). They have dogs as well, but generally only one or two. This place is staffed entirely by volunteers and is always looking for more!

I've volunteered here for a month now. I love being there. They always need more volunteers and donations. Any one that says negative things about the humane society I encourage to come volunteer. Make a difference with the other volunteers there. 😊

Someone working there was acting very rude to us when we tried to get our dog and checked not even for a minute on their computer and said he wasn’t there. An hour later a other employee gave me signs through facebook that the dog was still there. I’m disappointed and hope no one else lives through this.

My puppy I jus got caught parvo after a couple days of me having him. I was told to call the humane society and Vicky the director was very much rude. She proceeded to tell me I shouldn’t have gotten a puppy because I have kids and people need to be mindful of the responsibilities. I hung up because I was in disbelief. I then called back to let her know I would be reporting her she was on the phone screaming she was sorry because she knew she was wrong. They are there to help with animal aid not to be rude and nasty. I then called her today to voice my concerns and she laughted and hung up. I also feel I was discriminated against because she just. Helped a person not my color and with his dog with no problem. I had nasty things said to me while on the phone trying to get my puppy help I will be calling the city and I also have every recording from the phone call.

I originally wasn’t going to leave a review, but I’m very disappointed in the way I was treated over the phone by one of the staff members. This will be kind of long, as I feel it’s important to give some background information.I want to start off by saying I think it’s great they do background checks on their potential adopters. However, I am 20 and got my previous cats when I was 11 years old, and when I was 19, I registered them in my name (as they were not technically mine yet, they were my parents) and began taking them to the vet myself. During a visit, one of them couldn’t receive vaccinations due to an unknown illness at the time and he had to receive blood-work for it.I understand she was just doing her job, but I was met with a very rude, accusatory attitude, and she was very huffy and puffy over the phone as I was trying to explain the situation to her. I was interrupted and she even raised her voice at me at one point during the call.I feel very discouraged as a young pet owner, and I really wanted to give a small shelter some support. I read through the other reviews and this seems to be a reoccurring issue. I hope they come to their senses, and realize the way they treat people affects the animals that need homes. Very disappointed.

I can't say enough good things about Animal Aid! The volunteers are so kind and knowledgeable. When you walk through the door you get a warm welcome from the cats. It's clear to see that the felines at Animal Aid are healthy and well socialized. We adopted a kitten from AA last year, and she is the best cat we've had the pleasure of owning. She's cute and playful, and a little bit spoiled. We love her to pieces.

I visited the shelter and saw very well cared for and healthy looking cats and dogs. It was so touching how much the staff loves these beautiful creatures. It is obvious how hard they work to keep up with all of the responsibilities involved in caring for them. I'm hoping to be able to volunteer some of my time there.

These are very friendly cats. Beautiful cats to love up! They appreciate you too!Look at Bree and Lily. And Robbie is a very loving black cat. Apollo is a wonderful long hair gray cat. Not too old either! Very affectionate. They can use some attention.

They take great care of their animals and don’t let just anyone adopt them! They really are animal angels!

The place is in need of a renovation. I wish the state would move them to a better facility with better conditions. As of right now, the shelter is basically an old house that was turned into a business. I'm sure the employees are great but the animals deserve to have better living conditions. They do have a volunteer program, which is great. Not sure what age group can volunteer. They had the cats divided up pretty well. I did find one I like but it seemed that no one could give me a lot of information about any of the cats. The one thing I liked the most was the affection the employees showed the animals; they genuinely care about them and I am confident that they do what they can to take care of them.

We got a cat from here recently and we don't regret it at all- I just want to warn future adopters that they should bring any cats from this shelter to the vet immediately, before bringing them home- even if they tell you they already did. I had planned on doing so, but the day we picked him up they said he had been to the vet that morning. I figured I'd save him the stress of going twice in one day plus it seemed unnecessary. So far he's had two vet visits, scheduling the third now. Ear mites, ear infection, upper respiratory infection, and now we just discovered ringworm. Our other cat was infected with the respiratory and all of us have contracted ringworm from him.I don't wish to prevent people from adopting from here, because it's overrun with cats who need homes and they have a lot of sweeties there. Just be aware and take all available precautions, especially if you have other pets at home who can become infected.

I adopted my cat Petunia there back in 2004.She was 6 months old then. Now she is 15 years old and still doing good. She is the best cat I've ever had. I love her so much!

Unprofessional.. Front desk lady is very rude .. Love the animals but I thought if you couldn’t take care of a pet , people will encourage you to give it to a shelter to find a good home but the front desk lady will question you on why your giving the animal up and she’ll give you an attitude about it .. She literally will get rude with you bc you decide you couldn’t afford to take care of the pet or that your trying to find a good home for the pet .. Sometimes people go through situations where they can’t take care of the animal but to be rude about it when there’s shelters for a reason is despicable to me..

OUTSTANDING!! I contacted them asking for help with some food and a crate for my baby ( recently relocated to the area, and in need of some supplies I couldn't afford atm since I'm trying to build my life back after a divorce...) and Ms Viky couldn't be more gracious and understanding! Planning on volunteering and pay them back the help ASAP. Awesome ppl!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

No kill animal shelter that always goes above and beyond to help all types of animals. Run completely by volunteers

The shelter is run by the heart and soul of their volunteers. Stop by and help out, give monetarily or whenever you food shop for your own fur babies, throw extras in the cart for the shelter. Open your heart...

A volunteer organization that does the best it can with what it has. It's not a business, it's a volunteer run shelter. Help them if you can.

If you have any canned cat food - drop it on the steps outside the side door. They love when people do that.
