Love Dollar General!! This is a great store. It is newly renovated and it seems to have more shelf space now. A huge refrigerated and frozen section has been added. I always enjoy coming here. The staff is super friendly. Dollar General has alot of fun trinkets!

Walked in...adog was walking around with its owner and no leash. Nope! Not getting my business. Not sure why folks think this is okay? If you animal attacks someone, why do you want that liability? If it has teeth, it has the potential to bite....the no leash part is even more confusing? Not good for business. There are no laws that say they can just walk around without a leash. Furthermore, Service Animals have a vest and are always leashed. This one did not.

This is the best Dollar store I’ve ever been to!! The cashier was the friendliest and most helpful person I’ve ever come in contact with. I wish this lady would move to Tn. and come work at the Dollar street down from my house. This girl definitely deserves a raise! Sorry I didn’t catch her name:(

Wow! Wonderfully stocked store. I needed some foil cooking pans. An associate assisted voluntarily and found me three perfect pans. This store is full! Now I know why there are always cars there. Keep up the good work! By the way,. Thank s is the dollar general that is behind the bowling alley in Metropolis.

Went in and had a great experience. The cashier, Don was extremely friendly and thanked me for shopping. It was so nice to have a friendly and helpful cashier! I will purposely shop at this particular Dollar General due to the great service!

Sometimes the digital coupons don't work and only some of the workers are willing to help correct the problem at checkout. But other than that the employees sre helpful the store is clean although often cluttered. I shop there very often, at least 2 times a week

This store is very crowded and not clean. The cashier was extremely slow. He didnt know how to work on the register. The female worker, with a tattoo down her arm and hand, ran me over with a cart and said move. Very unprofessional and rude. I'll visit the 10th St. Store.

While my experience would have been 5 star had I never been to this store before, the recent remodel has made everything difficult to find for people like myself who have shopped there for years. I do love that there's such a large grocery selection now, though!

It's always nice and clean inside and the workers are always nice and helpful. They need some Dollar Generals on the West Coast. I will miss going to one when I move back. I recently traveled back from the West Coast and was relieved when I came across the first Dollar General on the trip back.

Now at this Dollar Store I have never had a problem it doesn't matter how long I'm going to store I never get followed around for anything they always ask if I'm finding what I mean what I'm needing because they are recently remodeled and I don't know the store like I used to they don't ever come outside to see why you're still there if you're still there and sometimes I'm there for a little while in the parking lot even before I go in because there's free WiFi so I might sit out there and download some things on my granddaughter's tablet or Kindle and then never come out there I call it spy on you I prefer this Dollar Store over the other one or even Family Dollar because they do the same thing to me at Family Dollar and I've never stolen anything in my life

This store is in terrible shape. Shelves not stocked. Products in boxes. This is all the time. Poor staffing. Employees talk loudly and complain while patrons are checking out. Had a girl eating at the register checking me out. Using one hand. Had a girl outside smoking and came in with me said she was the only one working. Store is dirty. Really needs help immediately. Has anyone seen this store in a while. The one across town looks great. Send help!!!

Did not find three things I went in for. Also every isle had the rolling carts in full of merchandising needing to be put out. Even the end of each section had them. If you met a customer coming ,one of you had to back completely out so the other could get through. People ask me why I don't like to go there at the end of my shopping I was in a line of about 12 people.waiting to check out of one lane. Ridiculous.

This dollar store is terribly understaffed. The one lady working was great but she had the whole store alone. She was great and the only reason I gave a 2 not a 1. She should be a manager because there was no management to be found.

Good, cheap items, but store was cluttered with everything. The store is a little too small for the amount of inventory. Very friendly employees and very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Metropolis il. I only shop there, they have everything I need for laundry, cleaning, baby supply's ECT. Just painted my living room, and I was amazed at the reasonable price of curtains. I shop for a lot of Christmas items there. They have what I need when I need it. Love general dollar store, located on east 8th street, Metropolis il. The workers are like family.😊

The woman working was super awesome!!! I havent had that level of customer service or a happy person working in the 2 years ive been going to this location ♡ dont get me wrong their customer service is great normally but this lady did it way different and more personable!

Completely understaffed. Every time I go there is only 1 person on the register and it takes a long time to check out. Other than that I usually find what I'm looking for and the store is clean.

The Dollar General in Metropolis Illinois never has anything in it on 8th Street they let people go they let people go that are really good workers and they cut peoples hours that are good workers so now they just hired anybody and everybody and they're trying to pick up the pieces and they can't but they're all try hard! They're good workers this company here just has nothing really!! The new Dollar General always has their stuff pretty much put up very rare is it not and you can always find what you want on 10th in Metropolis Illinois! They need to put in a Dollar Tree there and take that one out on 8th Street!!

Good prices on most stuff, but not all. Especially not groceries. The one on east 8th St. is overcrowded which makes it hard to get through with a cart. Convenient for quick stops though.

Not clean, stuff is just everywhere and never straighten up. Food is expired and hard to find in date food or drinks. There was a can of spaghettios with mold growing on top of it which shows you how often they check the food or do anything.

They never have enough help to check customers out. I use to be able to go in there and if they had to many in line they called for help now there was 10 in line and no help was sent.
