I have loved Big Lots since the 80's. Just moved here to Mattoon about 4 months ago and low and behold they have a Big Lots and I only live 2 miles away 😁 No I will get to the reason for my review. I found this picture online that I really wanted and it said that I could do a pick up at the store. So I just sashayed on down there and went on my hunt. I looked and looked and could not find it. So I went and found someone and they went above and beyond to help me. They couldn't find it either so she asked her manager. She also helped me out a lot. I want to say Thank you and I will be back. Btw the cashier's name is Melissa, and I did not get the manager's name, but she was working today Friday the 29th. Also I appreciated everything y'all did. It made me feel special ❤️ Thank you

I mean...it's Big Lots. It won't be the cleanest, newest or most organized place to shop at. No atmosphere. But we don't go here for the atmosphere, do we? We go here to find bargains. Depending on what you're looking for, you can find great things here. Older finds sometimes. Older toy lines that you've missed. Older dvds long out of circulation. Or like me, you find one thing out on the floor, then cruise through the long zig-zag checkout alleyway and pick up 3 or 4 snacks on the way out. Because Big Lots is nothing if not a bastion of delicious eats. I found a jar of cheese dip I like and was gonna buy at some point anyway. But Big Lots had it for 92 cents rather than the $3.99 or so I usually spend on it. The only catch was it was set to go past the expiration date in less than a week. But I was gonna use it soon anyway. So I picked it up. Thanks Big Lots!

Best selection on home decor. Especially Christmas. Southern stores in Mt. Vernon and Centralia however no longer have sacks for your groceries so I won't go. To protect the environment all the products they sell in plastic. Mattoon is great with sacks.

It's fun to come browse around and see what kind of "odd lots" they have. Lots of sweet finds. Pretty decent selection of everything from furniture and housewares to food and otc meds.

They have friendly staff who are helpful and they have a large selection of products. They probably have almost anything that somebody might be looking for on a daily basis. There's a line at the registers often but the line moves fairly quickly. I would suggest you give them a try and see what you think.

Have a wide selection of merchandise. You can get some good deals there but you need to pay attention to what you are purchasing and the price you are paying. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would suggest you give them a try and see what you think.

They have a variety of different items offered at Big Lots. They even have furniture. During my time shopping at the Mattoon store I saw 3 big couches being taken out of the store for customers. They have a nice selection of seasonal items available for purchase. The prices are reasonable too.

The cashier was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable with finding a phone cord for us.. she was definitely an asset to the store.

This was my first time here, oddly enough. I found what I needed. I plan to go back again at some point to explore other stuff I may need. Staff were nice, but they also left me alone long enough to walk the entire store before I had questions. 🙂

Some cool stuff, reasonable deals and prices, customer service all around leaves much to be desired, while store is in disarray. Even the tidy looking aisles have products in the wrong spots, poorly placed price tags and identifiers for products on all shelves.

I enjoy shopping here, they especially have a huge selection of nice furniture at an affordable rate. They have a little bit of everything. The employee that helped me was polite and very helpful in finding what i was looking for.

I really enjoy shopping their unique items, such as home decor; however, I thought the prices were higher than in the past visits. For instance, I normally purchase "The Works" tub cleaner & it was $1 and it's now like $1.29. The store is now organized and has more products. I like that they accept the SNAP food card. They have a big selection of gluten free and specialty items, such as protein bars.

Very nice clean and well stocked. The employee's are so nice and helpful. One thing that their missing is a motorized handicap cart. They do have a push wheelchair cart if your able to use one.

I received Excellent Service. Laura (the young lady) whom waited on me. She was very knowledgeable about furniture. I ended up purchasing a sofa, recliner, coffee & end tables. I was very well pleased that I was not treated like an old lady (76) (which I am), that did not know what I wanted. Very responsible! I will return!

The store is a big box store and what makes those great are the employees. I was greeted kindly by every employee I encountered. The man, Terry, in furniture, was even kind enough to inform me they are having delays with furniture orders because of Covid and he was really knowledgeable about the items he's helping to sell.The store itself has cute and trendy home decor and some nice stuff can be found on clearance.

The staff is usually very friendly, I went in for the friends and family event and the two gentlemen in the back were having some technical difficulties making my reward information pull up. They were both very helpful and easy to talk too. In the end of having to deal with me for longer than I think they wanted everything was taken care off and I walked away with the products I came in to buy and then some. Thank you to the gentleman working back in the furniture section around 4:30 on 1/20/18. Killing it!!

I went early and there weren't many people in the store. The store was very nicely arranged and very tidy. I was looking for something specific and found it quickly. I look forward to going back sometime to browse. The service attendant at the checkout was very friendly.

Bought furniture from here several years ago and it all fell apart within a year.Recently bought a recliner on the fly and the ladies were very helpful. One did look like a Karen but looks can be deceiving.If you can afford more extensive and quality furniture go elsewhere. BTW, the recliner is doing fine and we like it...for now.

Not sure what I should expect but I do expect a store to be clean and this was not the case here. The restroom was filthy and showing its age, needs a complete remodel. Only one checker and she was in deep conversation with a customer while the line was getting deeper.

Big lots is a great place to go d furniture, electronics, food, decorations and more. They have great sales. One of my favorite stores.
