Very decent variety! It’s usually a pleasant experience. Buyers beware, check all of your food before placing it in your basket. I was thinking of making pitas for lunch this week and grabbed a package of the pitas and saw mold. I thought only the Chicago locations sold questionable produce. This was a disappointment. Double check your items everyone.

Great shopping experience with loads of variety and high quality.Slow checkout is a bummer as well as higher prices. I made the mistake of being confused by their shelf price markings and needed a price check. That was a 15 minute stay in a time warp. The checkout was a nightmare!

Incredible grocery store. The hot tables there have some delicious food. I'm able to find the rarer cheeses here. Not to mention it's meat department has a vast variety of different things. The sandwich steaks sold there are perfect for their name sake. Finally, the produce is phenomenal. I can find the rarer peppers that I can't find in other stores unless I go to a speciality shop. Best store in all the surrounding neighborhoods.

I like Pete’s as they have a variety of products. The few times that I’ve gone I was able to find exactly what I needed. Please check your bags before leaving the store! I went to pick up a smoked turkey drum stick along with a couple of other items. After I got home and unpacked my bags guess what was missing.., the turkey drum stick. I checked my receipt to confirm that it was purchased. It was.. I immediately called and was asked the name of the cashier 🤷🏽‍♀️. I was asked to bring my receipt and they’d make restitution. Upon my return the young lady at the customer service desk seemed to have an attitude. I had to go and look for the item at the same price. I found it but at a lower price. The young lady placed it in my bag. I asked if she was going to give me back the difference. She sighed , looked at the prices of both and did so. WOW!! Great attitude!! No compensation for my inconvenience. Aldi gives you a refund plus an additional 1/2 of the cost of your product. With the cost of the products at Pete’s I should’ve received SOMETHING!! Very disappointed and frustrated.

Just had a great shopping experience at Pete's Fresh Market. The selection of fresh produce is outstanding, and the quality is top-notch. This was my first time in Pete's and I was impressed as I approached the roundabout door system. The fresh juice bar greeted me at the door alongside a beautiful display of produce. The employees were so friendly and the restrooms were spotless. The hot food bar knocked me off my feet becaise not only was the selection neat and plentiful, the assistance was there when needed. I appreceiate that they are minority owned and started right in Chicago back in the 70's. They hire within the communities they serve and has a space for everyone. I was shocked to see a bar and slot room. Compared to Mariano's their Popcorn Bar is higher. Overall, they still earned 5 stars! Thank you for an amazing experience!

I am only doing 1 star based on how I was treated socially. The store was absolutely filled and the lines were getting longer, which I get because we were supposed to get some of that good ole Midwestern storms. Every single person who went past to see where the line was, purposely said "go" in a derogatory and racial tone walking down the same aisle for the line and said it loud enough that the On Duty Matteson police officer who ALSO was in line 4 places ahead of said women who was spicy at me for no reason. I have never shopped here once, and the first time I do I am treated awfully and disrespected. The officer, who was also in on the situation at hand I know would've N E V E R done anything cause I could tell EVERYONE who was in that line was giving me that "stink eye" the one you give to people who you don't like for whatever reason. First and LAST TIME I will give this new supermarket my hard earned money and time, cause clearly the workers enjoy their jobs but the clientele are seriously the most racist people I have EVER met! And I used to work at the OG up the street next to the highway! Will NEVER give this specific location my hard earned money again, I can see why the location does not get good reviews! Seriously, I'd rather go to the Tony's on the west side of Joliet than THIS PLACE!! 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. ID FEEL SAFER STOPPING AT THE ONLY CIRCLE K IN HOPKINS PARK!

I really like this store. I could have lunch every day from their incredible salad bar.However, the last couple of times I went to the deli the person there was kind of rude.Today I went there and a lady was at a counter doing something with containers. Her back was to me and she turned around and asked how she could help me. Immediately turned her back to me and kept fiddling with what she was doing. I won't talk to someone's back. After a couple of minutes she finished, turned to me so I gave my order. Then she slowly walked to the side, arranged some stuff there and then got gloves. I did say something and I got back ..well I had to get gloves..., all she had to do at the beginning is turn around and say ..I'll be with you in a minute...I could see she was engaged in a job then.Other than the deli everyone there has been great and helpful.Some training needs to be done.

The brisket was excellent, the selection was extensive. My only complaint was the bourbon chicken and turkey tips were severely overcooked. I eat here frequently and this was the first time I had a negative experience. I still recommend you try their hot food bar

This store has everything you would expect in a Pete's. When I can't pick up essentials at my local grocery store, I make the drive by hopping the expressway, and it's not a bad drive. You can pick up warm food by the pound and not to mention those delicious tacos you may pick up at their restaurant. Highly recommend this market, and the staff are friendly!

This was an Grocery Shopping Experience like No other AND MY FIRST TIME, There was Countless Varieties of items, THERE WAS EVEN HUGE A BUFFET and even an Gaming Bar HERE😮, I only known some places where I get my groceries from to only have a small variery soups, But this place is off the scale, along with its cheeses and Bakery, I even found items here that I cant find in other stores which is no suprise to me😌, Infact! I will be making my Second time this week, I Look forward to it, I am Planning my trip this Time.

Open grocery, with wide isles and lots of choices. They also have a hot bar available that offers a variety of food. Staff is friendly. Usually the lines are Ridiculously long. The produce is Fresh. Lots of meats to choose from as well. Average or slightly higher prices.

I went to Pete's fresh market on Friday 1/19/24. I went when I got off work at 2pm I got there in about 25 minutes. Don't get me wrong I really like shopping here. The thing that just boggles me is for one, they are very expensive, but you do find certain things on sale. When you enter the store, it's laid out where you're entering the produce section. I love my fruits and vegetables but they are so expensive people aren't buying them therefore you can see how their fruits and vegetables are wilted, spoiling, just going bad altogether because people can't afford to buy them. I'm sure with the loss of those produce going bad and have gone bad, they hike the price on everything else in the store to compensate for that loss. I can go to Aldi and Walmart and Jewel and get a better deal. Pete's Fresh Market please lower your prices on your fruits and vegetables and won't just sit there going bad better yet gone bad. It's sad to see that waste occurring.

GREAT Grocery store in the South Suburbs! Lots and I mean LOTS to look at, shop and eat. There’s plenty of fresh produce, there’s a great juice bar and much more. I really love the bakery and different selection of products. I’ll definitely be shopping here often.HOWEVER, the downside is that with all they packed into this store location the aisles can be cramped. Especially during these Covid-19 times, it gets uncomfortable to be so close to someone. Another DOWN SIDE is that the cashiers are very close to the aisles, meaning if people line up there’s traffic and it gets crowded in the aisles close to the cashiers. They should take a lot at that and flex some space.

I Am NOT COMPLETELY, HAPPY with the Buffet. Some of the foods are good. Buttttt, the MAC & CHEESE 🧀 IS TERRIBLE!😝 VERY BLAND, NO FLAVOR! I DON'T KNOW IF IT COMES FROM A PACKAGE FOOD MANUFACTURER and they warm it up or if someone at Pete's is making the MAC & CHEESE is home made the store. Someone there needs to be introduced to salt. I can always find what I'm looking for. Plus they always have my mom's favorite cake. Plus it has a large selection of buffet cooks. Everything can have something different. I love the rice, potatoes, and soup selections. Also perfect for a date night instead of just pizza.

I am amazed at the size and variety of goods. I was looking for tamales when I decided to give Pete's a try. Not only did I find the tamales, but I found lots of my other favorites. The staff were also very helpful. I will be back.

Ro is a wonderful cashier! I always visit her lane because I can tell that she loves her job and is eager to greet each customer, no matter how much we talk her ear off lol and that's rare when you start to get older in these new times of "keep your distance" 😏

I’m an employee at Richtownship HS . I’ve purchased food for my team multiple times with a tax exemption letter scanned via phone do to the paper having normal wear and tear. Normally I show the Letter front and back with the E number and I provide my school ID. Manager Larry working night shift January 24, 2024 at around 7:30 ish pm was on shift. I went to customer service and he told me that I was not allowed to use my text exemption letter as proof on my phone with appropriate identification. I explained to Larry that I’ve done this multiple times, he cut me off and He continued to call me-the customer a liar. I was told that didn’t happen, when in fact he was the manager that assisted me in December. This man was extremely disrespectful, unprofessional, inarticulate and lack customer service skills. I’m not understanding the difference from my phone vs a physical paper. We can pay with our phones it’s 2024 not 1974. All I ask for is consistency. I would like to speak to a store manager or either a GM about Larry. First, I want an apology. Second, he needs intense customer service training ASAP along with a suspension and or management training. If he is a manager I feel bad for the employees. I will not allow him to speak to me demeaning. I will report this store to the Rich Township High School District 227. We spend great money to support Petes and all I ask is the same. I will be in the store tomorrow to speak with a professional and to file a complaint against LARRY. Once I ask for his name he wouldn’t give the last name just first. This review should be zero.Not only was he unprofessional he had to restock food.
