I walked in and the two female workers standing behind the counter with no customers just casually talking loud having a personal conversation did not greet me with a hello nor smile. I literally make is as far as the middle aisle and hear the workers greeting the two individuals that walked in separately after me. When I say this is still a huge issue in America and people wonder why this place is going the way it is. Ignorance is at an all time high. I will not spend my money with folks that refuse to treat me equal to others. I immediately turned around to walk back to my vehicle. I love dollar general products but I will be going elsewhere from now on.

I went to dg tonight for one thing. I waited in line for 20 minutes, without complaint, and when i got to self checkout, i tried scanning my item and it wasnt working so another worker came to assist me and i said “oh i would have been here all day”. When i said this, the other cashier said “yeah you might have to hold her hand, shes not very smart”. You should really talk to her about how to speak to customers. Very unprofessional and i will be calling to speak to a store manager in the morning.

I've never gone into this store and found it stocked good, clean or friendly. The registers are always backed up because self check is usually down and they only have one cashier whose so overworked and tired of listening to complaints that she becomes part of the poor service. I moved here from Galatia where the store is run like a fine oiled machine. The shelves are stocked, its clean and the employees are friendly and helpful . It's too bad because if the store was stocked and efficiently run it could be a nice store. It at least needs to be clean. I've read a bunch of the other views and wonder if we are in the same store. I've seldom ever gone into this store and gotten the things I need. I've only been helped by someone once willingly and friendly. She even went to the back to get item for me that hadn't been stocked yet. Other than that not friendly,however you usually find that in a store so overworked. They need 2 people stocking and 2 people cashiering for at least a month to get this store up to par.i truly believe the positive reviews are by friends or relatives of the store. I give where credit is due. I know corporate doesn't like to allow the employees needed tibgetba store up and running but they seriously need to help this store out so customers can write more positive reviews.

Went into the store today and it smelled like someone had left something out to rot and the smell was so bad I literally threw up in my mouth a little. Also like why tf are the shelves always empty in this store. Like everytime I have went in this place they are empty

it's real close to my house so I go there often. Their prices have been kind of going up. They have been getting a better selection since they remodeled but still they're a bit higher than they were. If it wasn't so close I could get better buys on the Kroger band or great value. they usually talk to me simple but they always treat me good.

Not sure what's happening with this store is it management,employees or just not like any other dollar store. First off the shelves are quite empty and all the refrigerators and freezers have been down for a good while now and haven't been fixed. They had no bread no milk no eggs and the lunch meat was very much spoiled. The shelves are a huge mess. I've been in there twice this month and it's sad

Used to work at this location on Court St. Loved working there. Only issue I have ever had when working there and even after working there is the check-out line. It normally takes forever to get through the line. They normally only have 1 lane open and not a lot of help to lighten that load off the other cashier. But overall a great location with a great variety of product for great prices.

I love how friendly and helpful the staff is . The selections are always in stock. The prices are awesome. And the variety of stuffs is great. I'd recommend it to anyone not wanting to go into any ofthe larger stores, like Walmart or Kroger.

The key holder Abby was extremely disrespectful to me as a customer I have over 17 years retail management experience and I have worked with the public either as a supervisor in a medical office and I would have never dreamed of her unprofessional attitude . There were about 8 - 10 boxes on a top shelf that said they were 1$ and I was purchasing one for me and one for my sister when I got to register they rang up as 4$ I told her about the shelf price she never smiled at us she barely even looked up at us . I then proceeded to show another employee where they were and it simply said 1$ but Gabby said they were put in the wrong place and I said all 10 boxes of them and I proceeded to tell her they it's not the customers fault your employees didn't pay attention to whatever reset spot they"supposedly" didn't do right and since it said 1$ you should honor my 2 boxes for 1$ .. I ALWAYS TRAINED MY EMPLOYEES TO NOT ARGUE WITH THE CUSTOMER INSTEAD SEE WHAT YOU CAN DO TO MAKE THAT CUSTOMER HAPPY AND THEN GO BACK AND MOVE THEM TO WHERE THEY WERE"SUPPOSE TO BE" BUT SHE ABSOLUTELY REFUSED TO HONOR THE PRICE AND PROCEEDED TO RAISE HER VOICE AT ME I WILL TELL YOU IN A SMALL BUT GROWING TOWN THE WORD OF MOUTH CAN MAKE OR BREAK YOU REAL FAST

This is my go to spot for most things. Good selection at affordable prices and a convenient location. Sometimes items are out of stock, so I can't quite give a full 5 stars but overall a good place to shop.

I just left there and those girls that work there today are angels. This one even helped me get my trash cans in my truck. Good girls oh and the guy that was delivering the Doritos helped me Pick up my stuff I dropped ALL over the floor. Yes this is a wonderful place with awesome people. God bless dollar general and all who help without hate.

Like most conservative retail stores, this place has a decent selection of goods. The only problem I have found lately is the consumingly long waits in the checkout line. It's not that the checkers are slow, it's that the checkout center is not properly situated in the store for a steady flow of consumer activity.

Store was dirty and cluttered.8:20 PM guy and girl working. Guy sitting at chair on customer side on cell phone and told girl to check us out.Well Violet didn’t even speak to us. She rang me up for 3 more drinks than what I had. I told her. Without speaking to me, she fixed the error. No thank you, have a good night. Complete silence the entire transaction. No customer service skills AT all. Wow. This is why I will only go to Carbon Street store even though Court street is closer. Ridiculous!

Although we got there 10 minutes before closing we got everything for my cats we needed and had a staff member to help us find baking soda for the litter pan and I felt special when the same staff member asked for my opinion on an outfit for another customer if it matched the top and bottom. I said yes because I was being honest and used to work for a clothing retailer years ago and was a model for Fashion Bug four years ago. So I would not wear it myself but for that person I thought it would look great on them. Maybe I should work there! Great shopping trip tonight at one of my fav local stores!

The Dollar general on court St, is under new management, since this has taken place customer service has increased, the emoyees know me by name and even know what I need when I go in, I think.this was a smart move on Dollar general to start fresh! I am there almost everyday, and always feel welcomed. Once in a while there is a long line, but not nearly as bad as prior when it was an actual 15 minute wait in line, it's more under control now!*UPDATED* well I had to revise my review, after a very short time, they replaced ALL the emoyees again! The new manager lasted about a month, they are not treated well by the company is the word. It's really sad because it seems that when you notice a good employee, they usually end up leaving within a short period of time. I now notice the only type of employees they are able to keep at this location at least are very passive people. No enthusiasm or customer service skills. Most of them Mumble. It's like a store of "emo" people. So it's back to the short handed long waits at the check out Lane, literally can be up to 10 minutes, that's a long time to stand in line when you're just trying to go in and out. Dollar General, please get your stuff together, treat your employees good if you want to keep them staff the store appropriately! You need more than 1 employee working at a time but just when your weekly truck comes in. (Even then none of those truck people end up helping out the line).

1st of all the place is nasty i mean that in every way its dirty noone bothers cleanig or restocking the sleves. and every time i come here empoleeyes are rude ive beem harssed here even tonight i was told by cops not to come back because i had a bag with me and didnt here anyone say that wasnt allowed nor have i ever seen a sign saying they wernt allowed.

Found the envelopes I needed quickly. The cashier was friendly and smiled to the other customers waiting on line - and me. It was easy to move around the clean store.

There are so many reasons why I don't like Walmart. Deceptive pricing, aisles are too close together, employees are oblivious to customer service, they are always understaffed. If Walmart disappeared tomorrow I would find it difficult to show an ounce of remorse.

I like going to Dollar general because it is close and smaller than the bigger stores such as Kroger or Walmart however they are not very well stocked out of my local Dollar general as of late I cannot find hardly anything I am looking for but when I do find it I do love going there however they are a little crowded most of the time

Nice staff but the store is always kinda a mess in some areas, totes on the floor full of product etc. The dollar stores in this town are getting old and run down. At least you can get in and out pretty fast.

Dollar General is basically just what it says it is a general Dollar store for all your odds and ends for a quick run in and out if you need something it's ideal other than that it's a little bit crowded lot of stuff in the aisles still a good bargain

I hope I was there on a truck delivery day, because boxes and carts where strown up and down aisles, the bathroom was a disaster-to the point where I decided not to use it, after all. Pricing is fair, was able to find what I needed.

All I needed was some milk and some pull ups. They were out of milk in the cooler but the only person I could ask if there was more was busy with a line at the check out that ended half way down an aisle. Very slow moving and not enough employees working.

DG is maskhole central in Marion. If there is rona outbreak in Marion this store will play a big part. On the positive side, while waiting in line you do learn a lot about the employees' personal lives, which can be entertaining.

This place is easy to get in and out. Prices are good. They even have some food items now including produce.
