They have improved greatly over the last year or so. I really like the way they moved the checkout counter, it looks more inviting when you walk in. Allison is your go to clerk , she is very knowledgeable of pretty much all of the critters they handle and if she doesn't, she tells you honestly. I am and will continue to be a repeat customer.

I have a mixed opinion on Dee's. I really do love the store and I think the staff all try their best. There is a ton of selection and it's just a neat place to walk around. Compared to chain stores the enclosures are good (Emphasis on compared)Here's some of the areas I take issue with. I think the staff is stretched too thin and doesn't really understand how to keep organized. You'll have 3 people messing with water someone wanted tested while one person is trying to clean 10 enclosures and your waiting 10 minutes for help even after asked. Also you do need to check your animals to make sure they are healthy. I brought home a boa and found she had snake mites. I know they suck to treat because they are so contagious but it could have put my whole collection in danger. Also have had a higher mortality rate with fish here.TLDR nice people and a cool store but the customer service isn't managed great and the animals can have missed health issues.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. Love that they let us handle potential pets. (Not just if we are buying one). Great variety of just about everything you want or would need. if they don't have it, then they can get it.

They have so many animals. My daughter got a 🐰bunny. Prices not bad. Tons of fish. If you love animals go here.

Some animals are not properly cared for. These little guys couldn't get into their food bowl. The water wasn't right since this type of tortoise cant swim. They do have a descent selection of fish. They do have some supplies that are hard to find elsewhere in the area, which was the purpose of my visit.

Very friendly they take their time to talk to u an answer questions an make sure u understand an have really awesome fish,frogs,snails an so much more. Rabbits ,Birds,Ferrets,Turtles,Mice,Hamsters the list goes on. I am very pleased with Dee's Pets

Brought home two goldfish and added them to my existing, thriving 20gal tank. They gave my fish the ick and all of them died shortly after bringing the goldfish home :( dirty store, would not shop again.

Great locally owned pet shop! Friendly staff and if they don't have it, they will find it. We got our Bearded Dragon named Buster there and they not only helped us find the right food and equipment but continue to keep in stock Buster's favorites so we don't go without.

Love this place! They always have what I need and have offered to order items I need for my snakes too! Wonderful customer service and they are always there if I need help or have any questions on whats in stock or when something will be in stock next! AND, the animals are VERY well taken care of! Which is something I'm incredibly picky about with pets stores. But here they are all housed wonderfully and fed and watered and the place is clean and organized! Love it!

If your looking for little animals dees is the places to buy animals dees pets is the cheapest places to buy the animals but not so cheap for buying the stuff the animal may need like food and beding. They are very helpful when comes telling what u will need to do with animal to keep it safe and clean and feeded the right way. Dee's pets is there for all my pet needs

Went to buy some fish for my new tank and couldn't get anyone to wait on us. We asked 2 different people and they said they would be with us in a minute but then went to other people that walked in after we had. So we drove further to Carbondale and went to Petco. They didn't have near the selection but we got waited on when we asked for help.

Had many varieties of freshwater fish. Saltwater fish as well they also have ferrets and birds etc They have more exotic pets and accessories and choices than other companies. Even though their prices are a bit high on some items and pets the animals are rare

Very friendly and helpful! I bought some fish for my little patio fountain pond. They could have sold me more expensive fish that would have not survived well out grown too big but steered me to the $1 a piece pond goldfish. I highly recommend them!

Friendly employees. That's the only good thing. My daughter absolutely loves fish, especially bettas. We went to browse so we could add another to our family (separate tank of course). She left CRYING. MULTIPLE dead fish in cups, many more slowly dying. We will NEVER return.
