Absolutely phenomenal! We booked ours through Airbnb and it was right on the lake. The tiny homes are quite spacious for a tiny home. The kitchens are beautiful and well stocked with everything you need. We loved that there’s an oven too. Couch was comfy as well as the bed. Bathroom was super clean and had everything we needed too. We especially loved the fire pit and covered porch with table and chairs. It’s the perfect spot to sit and relax. It feels so off the beaten path and yet it’s close to town so it’s perfect.

Beautiful, well maintained little cabin. We stayed 5 nights in the Teal Door. Nice view of the pond and great for a swim. It was great having coffee in the morning sun on the front porch and a view of sunset on the back deck. Nice to have the ability to sit by a fire in the evening. All the amenities of home. All the appliances worked perfectly. Close to Lake Egypt to go boating. Large TV for late night viewing. We would definitely consider renting again!

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful week last week at the Dam Near Lake of Egypt Cabins. We were in the Teal Door Micro Cabin which sleeps four and we were very comfortable. The full kitchen and bathroom were much appreciated. The surroundings were beautiful and very quiet. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. It was easy to book this cabin and Allison sent all the necessary information and was available to answer any questions. I would highly recommend these cabins for anyone looking for a pleasant stay in the area.

This beautiful little cabin met our needs perfectly. It was clean and bright. Each cabin was set far enough away from the next to provide privacy. The cabin owner Allison was very courteous and responded to any text or email quickly. It was the perfect place to come back and relax after our biking adventures.

We were searching for a mid-week getaway in Southern Illinois. Luckily, we found the purple door cabin in Marion near Lake of Egypt area. It was perfect for our needs; pet friendly, beautifully maintained and close to local attractions. Allison, one of the owners along with her family, has an incredible eye for design. The cabin is so charming and decorated beautifully. There is a modern farmhouse vibe that you will love! The attention to detail is clearly realized, everything and anything you might need is available. There is a lovely deck in the back where we spent many of our evenings relaxing and listening to music with wine glass in hand. The site is fun as well. There is a swimming pond directly in front of the cabin which offers Stand up paddle boards, kayak, beach chairs and a small sandy beach. Our dog had a blast swimming in the pond and exploring the grounds. The properties include two other small cabins but there is plenty of privacy. You are very close to many of the outdoor hiking trails offered in the Shawnee National Forest and surrounding areas. Plus, the cabins are basically on the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail which is a huge plus! We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time at the Purple door cabin! The amenities and recommendations provided by the owners were incredible. We were about 15 minutes away from Ferne Clyffe state park and close to Giant City. We loved hiking these spots then coming back to the cabin for quiet bonfires and dinner. The space felt so luxurious- with updated appliances, bathroom and bed. We were so cozy! I would definitely recommend to anyone traveling in the area. We especially enjoyed that we could bring our dog!

Really great spot to stay near Lake of Egypt. Cabin info is accurate, communications are helpful, location is very quiet. Cabin had everything you need in the kitchen, and AC worked great to keep it cool inside. Wi-Fi was easy to connect and worked well during our week-long visit. Cabin was clean and ready for us when we arrived. Easy self-checkin and checkout. Extensive info on local attractions and activities. Would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at Dam Near Lake of Egypt Cabins by SIVR many, many times and we are very loyal to SIVR. Our cabins have been clean, stocked with items that we needed, check in made easy as was check out. Contact with SIVR has been easy, professional and we will definitely be back. We can't say enough good things about the facilities and also all the good fishing, hunting, boating, water sports that are available in southern Illinois and SIVR has the places for you to stay.

I stayed here for two nights with my dog to do some hiking in the area while my son attended an event at Camp Ondessonk . The cabin was clean and well stocked. Beautiful little place and close to so many places to explore. Will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful time at the yellow door cabin. The cabin was very clean. We loved the private beach and the paddle boards. We hiked by day and sat by the fire pit at night. We tend to use a lot of firewood and they supply more wood than you can burn! Allison and Mike were great owners and always there for any questions or needs. The dogs came by every day to greet us and get their daily petting. Definitely a nice place to go to and relax.

Great place to stay!! It was our nice little retreat after a day of hiking. The decor is nice and modern, and the loft bed is great for kids! The water temp and pressure were perfect! The cabin is very clean and neat. We loved listening to the frogs at night by the small swimming lake out back. We highly recommend staying here, the owners do a phenomenal job! We booked our stay on a whim when we were looking to get away for the long Labor Day weekend and am so glad to have found the Dam Near Lake of Egypt Cabins! For those looking to explore the east and west areas of Shawnee National Forest, this is a great location that's central to everything. Since the cabins offer a full kitchen and grill, we packed up our food for the weekend and hit the road. We booked the yellow door cabin, which was extremely clean and easy to locate on the property. We also loved the morning greetings from Rocco and Ariel (the resident pups)! We can't wait to visit the cabins again for a weekend getaway and highly recommend them to couples or families looking to do the same!

My husband and I recently stayed in the Yellow Door Cabin for a quick Anniversary get away. We were blown away by this property! It is a hidden gem near so many points of interest. We hit the Shawnee Wine Trail two separate days and then hiked Giant City State Park. We also had lunch at the iconic Waltz pizza in Marion.The property exceeded our expectations and it was Lovely in every way! The taste in decor was stunning yet simple and romantic. We very much enjoyed ourselves and we would highly recommend!

Allison is great. The cabin was absolutely perfect. It was so clean. Rocco is such a sweet heart. My kids fell in love. We wanted a getaway from our hometown and decided a private cabin would be the perfect destination (considering Covid) and we knew it was sanitized and clean. I could not say enough great things about the Yellow Door cabin. We absolutely will be back and look forward to it!!!

Let me start this review by saying we have absolutely zero complaints whatsoever. From the moment I found the cabins through an online search, to my first of many messages with Allison our experience from beginning to end was superb. The Teal Door cabin not only met but exceeded our expectations. Location in relation to the Wine Trail and good places to eat was perfect. Had the opportunity to meet Allison, Michael and the kids several times…a wonderful family that was very attentive to anything we needed. The dogs were very friendly as we are also dog people and Rocco even joined me on the last morning for coffee on the deck. My wife and I were simply looking for the perfect 3 day getaway and we knocked it out of the park with Dam Near Cabins. Thank you Allison and Michael. As a bonus, we got to watch the ground breaking of what will become the new pond and Beach. See you next time!

My family and I stayed at the yellow door cabin last weekend. The cabin was awesome! So cute and plenty of room for the four of us and our two dogs. The cabin was very close to Ferne Clyffe State Park. The owners were on site and very friendly! Being close and having access to the beach was a huge perk! We would definitely stay here again, everyone had a great time!

We loved our stay at the Yellow Door Cabin so much we are hoping to make it an annual tradition. The cabin was beautiful and the perfect mix of escape into the wilderness, while also remaining comfortable. Everything in the cabin is modern (also it has a lot of the same modern stuff we designed our own home with!), nice firepit, grill, etc.We stayed in the Yellow Door with 2 kids and a dog and had enough room - my kids are young (3 and 6). Anyway, was a great place to stay and we would like to be back. The icing on the cake is Allison makes everything very easy and very clear and was 100% accessible even during the Holiday weekend for us. We got a flat tire and had to ask her for advice on what to do! Don't worry we got it fixed no problem.Finally, I will just say we came from North of Chicago and it was super easy drive. 294S to 57S... that really is it.Loved it!!!

Her communication was excellent with the website providing all details to enjoy your stay in the area. We have visited the Shawnee area many times for camping and hiking however based on her suggestions we discovered several new enjoyable trails. We would definitely stay here again!

We just had a wonderful getaway at the Dam Near Lake of Egypt! These are tiny homes that have been beautifully finished and are stylish, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and is fully stocked with basics like spices, oil, even syrup. Bed is cozy and comfortable and the loft space adds great usable space for sleeping. We loved watching the morning light move through the many windows while we cooked breakfast and although the other cabin had guests, we had both quiet and privacy.Allison is a lovely host and graciously helped us with a bad car battery at check out. We were very impressed with both the facilty and the service!We enjoyed the Shawnee Hills Wine Trail and hiking in beautiful Fern Clyffe Park during our stay and love how many things there are to do in this slice of Southern Illinois.We will look for reasons to return!!! Highly recommended.

I loved the micro cabins! They are so chic and modern and comfortable. I am from Marion originally, but now I only want to stay at Dam Near Lake of Egypt Cabins! It is much better than a hotel. Everything is provided for you to make your stay extra "homey".Southern Illinois is so beautiful. With the Shawnee National Forest readily available, there is so much to do and these cabins are super convenient to all of the action.

Had a great stay. Was perfect for my remote working retreat. Was great for teaching remotely during the day, spending the afternoons hiking and exploring the lake area and National Forest, and then enjoying a nice quiet night of reading and writing for grad school. Cabin is incredibly nice and cozy. Because of it's positioning on the property, I would highly recommend the the TEAL DOOR cabin (if it's available); however, either cabin choice will not disappoint.

We had a wonderful quiet few days relaxing with my parents and sister's family. These cabins are very modern and have everything you need to relax. The cabins are located near several activities including Lake of Egypt. Allison will take great care of you and if you need anything she answers very quickly. The owners are veterans and they were very excited to meet our 91 year old father who served in the Korean War Era. Thanks to Allison for a great few days. We would encourage anyone to stay at these cabins.

We had a wonderful stay! From the moment the dogs greeted us hello until we headed home. A well thought out cabin with every comfort of home as well as a gorgeous property to enjoy. There is a plethora of state parks to hike and many wineries to visit. We had a bonfire each night and even enjoyed a nap in the oh so comfy bed one afternoon. We've already booked our next stay in May of 2020!! Cant wait!!

In mid October 2019 we stayed 4 nights in the Teal Door Cabin of Dam Near Lake of Egypt. Rain brought us in and followed us back out but our 4 days were sunny and mild and our 4 nights were quiet and the weather crisp.The cabin was very clean and perfectly decorated. Our first day I immediately emailed photos to a few friends who could be prospective renters because I was so impressed. This is what I tell everyone, “Once you stay in a tiny house or cabin or similar rental, you will never choose to go back to hotel/motel for an overnight stay away from home.” Our stay was very quiet and relaxing. The location was central to various places we were interested in visiting and eating. The scenery, landscape and décor was beautiful.

I thought the photos were awesome but even better in person! The place was very clean and the setting was wonderful for sitting around the campfire in the evenings and overlooking the meadow. Firewood is provided for your evening/morning fires and Coffee is provided for the mornings! It's location is great for touring/hiking/wineries in the southern Illinois area. And being pet friendly guarantees our return! I highly recommend staying here.
