I had an absolutely terrible experience at this Berkots location! I purchased some sushi for lunch, and ended up getting very sick. I found multiple pieces of hair in my food! This place is ran by inconsiderate a-holes!

I was in the store last night 1/24/24. I went to the deli while I was asking for what I needed the guy working behind the counter got angry and yelled at me. My daughter was with me and witnessed the anger this guy had. This was at about 7:30 pm. I simply asked for a pound of turkey and got yelled at.

Absolutely terrible place to shop overpriced on almost everything and there website says they close later so i thought I’d go get food and turns out they were closed as an employee walked out unbelievable

Nice fresh vegetables, etc. Very tasty tacos for a great lunch. Easy parking. Available restrooms close by ... lacking cashiers today and often, only counter open today was Customer Service counter. 6 people in line, one cashier. Customers were complaining. I saw 2 employees roaming in the aisles, appearing to be not very busy. Maybe management should think about 'cross training'... ha, ha. Convenient but not an enjoyable shopping experience...

Some hard workers here but this place could do much better with their store management. Unfortunately this place seems to be the last stop for the produce truck. I do like their home made salsas but other than that, not a good store for fresh veggies and fruit. New Lenox seems much better.

I was impressed with the store. Only stopped for a couple of things. Their fruit and produce were the best I've gotten in a while. If it wasn't so far from home I'd shop there all the time.

If you're from a small community and you want a good store with all of the basics, this is a great chain. There's very little reason to drive all the way to a big chain store. They have the major brands, and they have a good store brand. Prices are good and the stores look nice. At peak times they even have more lanes open than they do at the big discount stores. The produce is fresh and the meat looks good. They have good sales and if you belong to their rewards club you can save even more. On occasion, there will be some items you simply won't find, either because they don't carry the item or because they have run out, but for your regular shopping trips this is a nice place to shop.

Employees very helpful & friendly. Excellent deli for hard to find meats & cheeses. The deli also has Fresh Cooked Meals. Awesome. Daily made Sushi on site. I tried the Seaweed Salad, for the very first time, was excellent & something different for the adventurous @ heart. Good job Berkot's.

It's still a bit over priced and the meat they mark down should have been thrown out. I found a hot dog package clearly had hole in it . Gave it to an employee and later I find it back in a cooler so a customer can pick it up. So not returning to the Manhattan illinois berkots

I shop here frequently and love the convenience. Nice to have a fried chicken place nearby. We like most of the deli and bakery items (no one likes everything). They have good sale prices and a fairly good selection for a small town store.

So glad the cashier was more worried about his music on his phone instead of helping the customers. Why would you even be able to have headphones on when you are checking people out

Great to have in Manhattan. Staff always friendly, Shopping experience has always been consistently positive. Store layout, putting frozen foods and refrigerated foods near the checkout helpful for keeping your food frozen/ cold for the ride home. The meat department is also very helpful with special requests.

I really kind of love our little Berkot's, but I can't give it five stars. It just isn't big enough to have as wide a selection as I'd like, and I get a little bothered by the huge variability in non-alcoholic beverage prices, like soda. When it's on sale, it's usually alright and sometimes (not often) even good, but when it's not, it's just not even buyable. I don't know, it's nice and convenient for most of our needs, but if we need to do a particularly big shop, I find myself going to Jewel usually. They just tend to have better prices overall, and a much wider selection.

Nice local grocery store but the staff need to do a better job at removing items on the shelf past their "sell by" date. Numerous times have I've been in there and found perishables a week (or more) past their date. My wife unknowingly bought a bag of their house brand shredded cheese that had mold in it and the sell by date was Dec. 31st. Come on Berkots, you can do better than this. I hate to say it by I'll drive out of my way to shop at Jewel from now on.

Nice small grocery store, well kept with a decent selection. Like everywhere else they have supply issues as of lately but not terrible. I wish they had a bit more selection in the frozen section but that's not a big deal.

I love that they have the little mini grocery carts for my kids. kids love it too. Plus the staff are so nice. They also give the kiddos suckers. Super sweet.

Pleasant little store. Produce is usually decent, good meat sales, and there is sufficient variety for most of my trips. I do watch expiration dates. (Some packages sit a bit too long on the shelves.)

This grocery store is okay for the general Essentials but I really don't trust it for Deli Foods as they seem to be sitting around a while as well as baked Bakery Goods as they have not lasted long and went stale too quick. Otherwise the store is clean and generally has most things in stock. I am not crazy about there butcher Department I think there are better options with Jewel or CP meat market in New Lenox

I go shop here quite frequently.That selection is great and the prices are decent, too.I was able to find a few rare items when no-one else had them and the bakery makes a wonderful lemon cake!

Berkot's Super Foods is a really lovely, clean, peaceful, organized grocery with tons of variety from fresh foods to meat to bakery & a huge area of refrigerated items. Many little pockets of items on reduced price. I wish I lived here.

When asked if I have a rewards card I said no and that I needed to sign up for one and the cashier/service desk just rang me up at full price and did not acknowledge or educate me on how to do so. This is after I heard they did the same thing to a woman in her 70s as well.

After living in Manhattan for 6 years with my wife who has been here for over 30 years, we are left praying to all of the gods, all of the time, to help us because of how rotten and disgraceful this place is. They have no competition in town and it really really shows. The management staff is always changing and the only things that never change: the rotten smell and the employees who literally duck and run away when you are obviously frantically looking for an item. Lord help these people.

OK, I admit it. I shop at Berkot's. This is one of the larger stores they have. I don't know how many they have but I shop at three of their stores depending on what route I am driving. This location is on my way to or from Joliet Illinois so I frequently shop here. A very nice grocery store and I recommend it.
