At 2:40, on 4/11/24, I was at the paint counter for about 5 mins. That is no problem as I work in retail. The whole time I was there the young lady with the long brown ponytail was at the back counter with no customers. Then a young man with a beard and glasses walk up that same aisle. A customer walked up behind me and the worker helped him first. The lady at the register called for help. The same young lady came to mix paint for me. She said we dont have this brand while handing my swatch back. I asked if she had colormatch? If I knew nothing about paint i would have left. She ran it through the machine. The color produced was charcoal gray. My swatch is dove wings. Very light tan. She said itll look a little darker. I told thats a whole different color and walked out. Normally I got great service. Its ashame those 2 dont NEED a job.

Had a license plate that lost its screw, and Ace replaced the the one there and added another 3 new ones so it's not going anywhere anytime soon!! Appreciated that they fixed it for me!!!

I came in today looking for a specific part for my spreader so I could start laying seed, weed and feed and all the fun things to care for my lawn. Ryan, immediately jumped in to help me. He knew what I needed but unfortunately they didn’t have it. So he came up with a additional solution and said bring in the spreader let’s drill a hole and add a part. He was quick with the decision-making and the creativity. As you can see from the pictures below, it needed a that would hold onto the bar. I would recommend working with Ryan, if you visit Mahomet Ace Hardware.

As stated in previous reviews, this is a very good hardware store with a knowledgeable staff. Great if you don't want to drive to a big box store.

Staff are always super helpful! This time it was my endless questions about outdoor lighting options for a small fenced in area for our dog. Was able to sort out exactly what I needed.

Ace is always there and close by when I need something for my projects, and more often than not always have exactly what I need! I also appreciate they're extending their hours coming up soon, so I can work on my projects even later!

It's a nice clean organized store, the employees seem knowledgeable and friendly. When I frequent I usually find what I am looking for. My only issue is competitive pricing on common merchandise.Sometimes they have better pricing on uncommon things, Or personal preference selection. But then they have more expensive pricing on common use items.I try to frequent it as much as possible just to support the business.Because the employees are knowledgeable friendly it's organized and clean and I appreciate it.Honestly sometimes more expensive is worth avoiding North Prospect area just being honest.

Very disappointed! Went to buy chalkboard paint and was sold tintable chalkboard paint!! I wanted black! He didn't tell me I had to tint it!! Which the normal dhalkboard paint is black, . Now it's 3pm on Sunday and of course they're CLOED for the day!! So.much for that project!!I am very thankful and appreciative after posting, the manager called and opened the store and made it right. Thank you Ace that is going above and beyond. Well done. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Great for quick trips when I dont want to leave town. Service is always helpful, but not always knowledgeable in the paint department. If you know what you need, and want a local trip for your supplies, this will generally suit your needs. I'm willing to pay the slightly higher prices to stay local.

I always buy my loose nuts, bolts, and screws here. Why buy 100, when all you need is 30? Staff is very friendly and always willing to help with what you need. And it's clean, which always makes for a better shopping experience.

The employees that are out on the floor are always welcoming and very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. Wish I could say the same about the rude older women that are at the checkout counter... sorry but WOW!

Ace is always stocked and clean when we need to grab a few supplies, which is nice. We usually only need the supplies they offer when it's a last minute or emergency type situation, and it's great that we don't have to order online or even drive into Champaign because it's locally available here in Mahomet. I was wearing a backpack and they thought I was stealing something because I didn't need help and I went down a Laine they didn't like us going down! Yeah this place just assumed that we were stealing and didn't give us time to explain that we were looking around.

Decent selection if you're in a pinch, but the prices on some things are double what they'd be at Menards or Home Depot. Some of the products are dusty and look like they've been on the shelf for a decade, which for most tools is probably fine, but for anything that has a limited shelf life could be an issue.
