PERFECT place to have amazing food and a fair price and incredibly friendly service. We felt so very much at home with how well we were taken care of and how fresh our food was prepared to perfection. There was a large party already seating, and we were warned that there could be a wait. Despite that, we hardly waited at all yet appreciated the heads up!

Such a cute place! I was visiting family in Illinois and we stopped to here to eat at least 2 different times to eat dinner & breakfast!The food was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere of this place was homey. Literally, feels like someone's home. The kids got legos to play at the table while we waited for food & everyone was so friendly. Customer service was top notch! Would highly recommend anyone to come and check them out. You won't be disappointed!

LJ's has the most delicious food and fast, friendly service. Can highly recommend the chicken wrap, BLT, pork tenderloin sandwich, sweet potato fries, and fish specials on Fridays. If you like pie, they have the best around! Prices are excellent and serving sizes are ample.Parking: Ample parking out front.

Great little family run restaurant. Home cooking at its best. Everyone seems to know everyone the walks in & they make you feel right at home. Extremely friendly staff. The food is fantastic and very down home good. Very homey inside decorated for the season, home style country kitchen tables. Just can't say enough about how great this little place is. Recommend it to anyone wanting a good home style meal and to relax for awhile.

Yummy homemade food. Awesome soup/salad bar. Small seating area 8 tables, I think. When they are busy you may be asked to sit with another table, you can decline the offer. Just may need to wait longer. Worth the wait. Try a slice of homemade pie!

I had breakfast at LJ’s on Wednesday morning with about 16 other golfers from Pekin.I impressed by the excellent service provided to such a large group.But the food was outstanding! Possibly one of the breakfasts I’ve had in years.Thanks to the owner, thanks to the waitress and thanks to the cook.

This used to be one of our "go to" places. I've noticed there has been quite a price increase and the last time I visited we were informed drink refills are now limited. We visited today despite the aforementioned. The regular waitress is out of town. Her replacement today was terrible. After pointing out a minor mix-up with one of the orders, the waitress began arguing that she brought what was ordered. She then looked back at the written order and announced "well that's what I wrote down so somebody said it". Even IF she had been correct (which she wasn't), her response to the situation was inappropriate in my opinion. She then took it a step further and made rude comments about my friend to other people in the restaurant which we could clearly hear. She tried to make a joke of it when she realized we heard her. Her behavior was completely inappropriate and uncalled for. Despite the good food, good service is just as important. It is unfortunate she made a nice lunch extremely uncomfortable. I won't be returning and I doubt the other six people with me will either.

Heard from locals this is the place to get pie. They were so accurate! We were having a girls weekend getaway, and so we purchased 2 slices of each flavor that day. Took the pie back to the cabin, and we all argued about which ones were the best! Chocolate turtle, coconut cream, gooseberry and lemon meringue all took first place. Highly recommend you give them a try.

Great food and fabulous pie.Another trip over to LJ's and equally fabulous food. LJs was serving turtle which was to die for, with any kind of potato, a veggie for 15 bucks.Cheap meal, plates were heaped.Pie was equally as good and Peggy is the best waitress I think I've ever had.We ate inside social distancing in place, tables 6 ft apart, If there was not enough spaces Peggy sent them upstairs to eat. To go's were going out the door left and right and the place was packed the entire time I was there. This is from a month or so ago evidently I forgot to post it.

Love this place! 0wner and staff are friendly and service is great. Good food and large portions, with home made soups and pies. During the Spring and Summer the garden is open to buy bedding plants, hanging baskets and great garden art.

Felt like I had walked into my Momma's kitchen! With an assortment of kitchen tables, cute little knick knacks, and good smells.The food was incredible, huge portions of home-made goodness that you can't feel bad about. Prices will remind you of when gas was 99¢ a gallon.Pie to die for! 6 or so rotating flavors, take one home! Or take a pie of every slice if you can't decide.Love!
