We have been going to Animal Medical Center of Macomb for about 20 years now. We live about an hour away but it is well worth the drive when staff and the doctors are so incredible. After this many years they feel like family. They love our furry babies as if they were theirs. We even had 2 emergencies with our English Bulldog who went into cluster seizures and they got us right in to save our furry baby. I simply can't imagine a better, more caring group of people to care for our pets. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Thank you Dr. Lotz, Dr. Loop and the entire amazing staff for loving our pets the way we do.

Highly recommend this vet! I drive over an hour away to use them for ofas for my golden retrievers. Everyone is always so friendly and very knowledgeable. With having multiple bad experiences at vets that had no knowledge on ofas and how to properly position, I couldn’t be anymore happy to have found this vet!

They've always taken excellent care of our 2 dogs! As well, we had an emergency with our cat and rushed him to Dr Lotz and he took him in for surgery immediately. Definitely recommend!

I’ve been a customer for about a year. I’ve been bringing my 2 cats in and each time I am less and less satisfied with the care. One cat has unknown stomach issues and they are not trying to figure out what’s wrong. The other cat has bladder issues, but the test given was easy enough so they did find the cause. All my cats are getting is antibiotics and hospitalization when it gets serious enough. There is little to no diagnostic unless I keep asking for it. And now they are refusing to give me the full chart of my animals. I’ve only received a list of what care they got, there was no documentation of why I brought them in such as symptoms, there is no charting at all. All I’ve received is their shot records and a receipt of everything they’ve been given. Not the full chart. This is incredibly sketchy. I will be taking them somewhere else the second I receive their FULL records

The staff is always friendly and treats my dogs respectfully. My Belgian didn’t even realize she was getting her vaccines! That’s talent.I also board her here when we are out of town and they always accommodate us and take good care of her.

The staff and Veteranarian are nice. The place is very clean. The prices seem comparable with other Veteranarians. It took a couple of appointments and a visit from me to pick up medication before my cat got any relief. His symptoms seemed to be a mystery to everyone involved. Hopefully he is on the mend now...I hope!

This review is long overdue. December 2021, I found I could not take care of my two dogs due to COVID. It was only a few days before Christmas and that is the worst time to find boarding because everyone is booked solid. I called Animal Medical and Kerri said that they would make it happen, even though they were full. My dogs were there until the end of January and February and were well taken care of. Thank you for being there!

Brought a Senior dog in two times, this last time I took him In the Older Veterinarian started cleaning his ears and gave him some medicine without confirming with me what it was or what the price would be, at the end of my visit I was upset with the extra $91 for the ear treatment. I took him in to get skin irritation looked at as well as get a cone. Never got the cone, but walked out with a $350 bill. Hopefully In the future they will be more transparent with me when it comes to what they are going to do and what the prices are. Scam artists is what I'm starting to see them as.

I love Magics vet. The girls are awesome the doctors are awesome. You can see the grooming area. It's always very clean and they have little candy dishes for us Hu-mans. 😂 love ya guys!!!!

I’ve never written a review before but I feel like this should be documented. I took my puppy to this place for a check up right after I got him. I remember thinking the vet seemed like he just didn’t want to be there and nobody mentioned that I should put him on monthly worm meds. I brought him back a few months later because he was losing hair. I thought they were going to say he had allergies, but no after looking at him for a few seconds the vet decided that it was ring worm. There was no testing done, and they gave me homemade medication. I had never had a pet before so I went along with it. Now that I live in a different city I took him to another vet for a second opinion. I told them my story and they were visibly upset with this vets behavior. After my new vet tested his spots for ring worm, all tests were negative. So I spent hundreds of extra dollars on bad treatment at this vet and then having to go to another vet to figure out what was wrong. Please don’t bring your pet here, and take the bad reviews into consideration.

We recently had to have a pet put to sleep. The vet and vet assistant were very sympathetic, informative, and helped make our boy's transition a calming experience. We are very appreciative of both of them, and the rest of the staff we interacted with.Thank you to the staff, and we look forward to working with them again.

Dr. Lotz suggested unnecessary teeth cleaning while my cat was dying. Had a 500 dollar blood test and did not tell me what was wrong with my cat . I had to call and ask. I will never be back. I do not recommend this vet.

From the time we arrived for our appointment until the time we left, the staff at the Animal Medical Center was outstanding. They were kind and compassionate towards our little Miss Ang (she is an older shih tzu). Dr. Lotz was very thorough with his examination of our fur baby, took the time to educate us about what was going on with her health, and his table-side manner with her was warm and friendly. I would highly recommend this veterinarian clinic to anyone looking for healthcare for their animals.

I have taken my dog to this vet since I got her 3 years ago. I had no complaints until yesterday. I boarded my dog with them for the weekend like I had done many times before. When I went to pick her up I noticed she was bleeding from somewhere near her whiskers. I brought it up to the boy they had working who had no clue what he was doing he couldn’t even figure out how to charge my account for the boarding. He looked at her and said well she’s a dog. I made him call the vet who also acted like this was no big deal. I left my dog in perfect health and when I returned she was not in the same condition as when I left her. The vet was more worried about getting back to some friends that had come in from out of town than the fact that my dog was able to hurt herself either in the kennel or the run outside.They did not seem to understand that there should not be a place for her to cut her face in the kennel or run. I will never take my dog back here. Completely unprofessional and uncaring about the fact that my dog cut her face in their care and still thought that I was going to pay them for the boarding.

We just said our goodbyes to our boy Flash! The staff was caring, professional and simply the best pet loving people I've come to know. Dr. Lotz is always compassionate and kind and listens when you have questions about different things to maybe try to keep your fur baby around a little longer. He talks to you when you know it's time to say goodbye and has true empathy. I truly believe he cared for our Flash like one of his own!

I did like them until my cat went in for a teeth cleaning and came back with his whiskers cut. I called to ask what had happened and they denied all responsibility and even tried to blame me. A teeth cleaning should not end with my cats whiskers being cut.

We've had great experiences bringing our puppy here for vet services, but I'm disappointed with the grooming services. We brought our puppy in for his first grooming, and no one other bothered to call us when he was done. Who knows how many hours he sat alone in the crate there. When my wife asked how he did with the grooming, no one could even answer, because his groomer had already gone home for the day. A very disappointing experience, and we'll be looking elsewhere for future grooming visits.

I love the new facility! Very happy with the way they care for my furry family. My older dog is about 11 but she had a very rough beginning part of her life and has a lot of anxiety still. They take such good care of her and make her feel very comfortable! They took the time to soothe and calm her while trimming her nails for me. I've had her for almost 7 years and I've only ever been able to do it myself, and even then it was a struggle. It's a bigger deal than it might sound like to some.

This was my first time there. I had high hope from reading all of the reviews so that is why I chose this place. We got in there, they did our paperwork and then I gave it back. It took about 20 minutes to even be seen, no one told me what was going on just let me sit around. Finally got my dog seen for her knee that may be torn. The Dr put her up on the plastic board to lower and raise her. He then took her legs with no notice and really man handled her on that hard board multiple times. I was supposed to get x-rays done for her. He said that he wasn't going to do them because she should go to an orthopedic vet in Peoria. He said that he was going to give them a call and let them know what was going on and give me their number. That never happened. I called the orthopedic place and they never received any paperwork or information regarding my dog. I will not go back here, not very pleased with the service.

I have had several horrible experiences with Animal Medical Center and have unfortunately been forced to take the matter public since I sent in a complaint via e-mail, and no response was returned (not even an apology). If you are a college student or young in general, make sure you know exactly what you are paying for before you swipe your card at AMC. It is your right to know exactly what you are charged for. Receipts there do not have exactly what you are charged for on them and if you aren’t careful they will charge you for something you don’t owe without hesitation. Be prepared for the snarky remarks that come from a lot of the employees. If your pet is staying overnight for a surgery, they will smell like pee coming home or have a lot of dried blood on the surgical site (even if you pick them up really early on). They have a hard time checking animals before handing them to their owner. Ive given this place several opportunities to show how excellent everyone says they are, but its all a façade. I promise. Take your loved animals somewhere else and save yourself the money and hassle. I know i did and all of my school mates and community friends are too.

They were SO caring and gentle with my cat when they had to put her to sleep. They even put her in a cardboard casket so I could bury her. She looked so peaceful and like she was just asleep. They were so kind to me as I grieved. Now a week later they are making sure her sister is ok since Snickers died of heredity issues. Dr. Lotz is patient and knowledgeable as are his staff. Their new facility is so beautiful and inviting. Even with this covid stuff I don't worry while I am there.

I was able to get an appt. for the morning after I called. My cat had to stay overnight to get a urine sample for a UTI. She's an older very sheltered indoor cat so it was stressful for both of us to have to leave her. Staff was friendly and helpful. Went above and beyond to answer all my questions both on the phone and in person. Offered me different options for treatment. My cat is all better now. Thanks to Drs. Loop and Lotz.

Even though my kitten didn’t make it (due to genetic issues), they were so kind & compassionate & understanding. they made my process & grief easier to deal with. I can’t thank them enough for everything they did during a heartbreaking time.

I honestly used to love going here but after my last appointment I was disappointed. The vet talks in a way where you think you need a certain shot then you get the bill and it is 150 dollars more. The receptionist (Caisey) was flat out rude. Rolling her eyes, huffing, & walking away to talk to other coworkers. I could read her lips. As my dog has to have surgery I will be going to a different vet out of town.

Called them because my cat was throwing up and having diarrhea for a few days. They said to drop him off and they would call me at the end of the day to pick him up as well as tell me what was wrong with him. Background about my cat, he was abandoned by his previous owner and this has abandonment issues and anxiety. So after dropping him off at 9am, I have to wait a full 24 hours to even hear back from them. I don’t even know if they have looked at him or not.
