The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and passionate about their work and the aquariums. They have the most diverse and interesting aquarium plant selection I have ever encountered. I appreciated that they had a great selection of fish as well. And they seem to be well staffed(Less waiting).

Awesome place for your fish.We have a pond, stocked by the wonderful people here. Also have a larger 125 tank and Bala sharks almost 12 inches now bought here.

“It was nice seeing all the different types of fish. They are a bit overpriced but I guess if you’re looking for certain ones it’s worth it! They have a large variety of fish. If you’re in the area or looking to get fish this is a great place to go if you don’t mind spending a bit more.”-Chloe

I felt the need to write this review after reading some of the previous reviews on this store. I used to visit this store with my father as a kid and grew up in the fish hobby. Seeing how the owner responds to unsatisfied customers is a little concerning and shocking as a potential continuous customer. There is no need if you are an owner in a business to use caps or wording that demeans or harasses the customer. There is room to explain yourself or why you chose to do certain things- but it is never okay to shame people for mental health or make mentally unwell people look like evil people. It really is disappointing seeing the lack of care towards customers through their replies because I wanted to purchase some things for my freshwater tank here. I guess I will have to look elsewhere and I hope others do too until the owner can provide a better handling on store reviews.

I had a very similar experience to Kat, and it sucks I've been shopping here for years dame situation I bought a 50 fish dies the next day nitrate were high when they tested I get it fair enough. But I didn't like was how it was handled it felt very blow offish I spend north of 100 bucks within a couple days there not looking for freebies but a little consideration would've been nice. But overall it's a great store with a lot to offer and Kenzie is pretty cool. I'm not bashing but it would be nice to know about the warranty before spending 50 bucks on a fish I appreciate tye testing of my water which I thought was fine considering the fish I have in there are alive and well including the ones I added over a week ago. So if u didn't get my review maybe you'll get this one

My favorite fish store. Purchased a Red empress from here, beautiful fish, the empress didn't fit in with my other fish. I told them about the situation, and they told me I can return it, I came in, they didn't have any that may work at the time, told me to come back when new shipments come in, which I did, and found a beautiful Peacock Cichlid, which has been doing well fitting in with my other cichlids, which I also purchased from here! Very knowledgeable staff!

First time visiting. Staff was friendly, knowledgeable and readily available to help. Unique selection of fish. Looks like they got new tanks for the freshwater plant displays. If you're looking for something specific, they will let you know if it's available or when it's coming in. Would definitely recommend checking it out. They also sell used tanks which I haven't seen at any other pet store.

Wonderful staff and some unique stuff. The owner has a good background in Pond stuffs and was very polite and resourceful in helping me sort out Pond related greviences . Apart from regular stock of both freshwater and saltwater fishes, having decent stock of other pet resources like feeder mice and rats, hamster/ gerbil/rabbit feeds bearded dragon supplies adds to the profound importance of this shop closer to the Northwest Suburbs .I am already sold . The owner has international contacts to source the exotic carts like Showa, Kohaku, Ogons etc.

Love this place! I'm a freshwater enthusiast and have only ever had one batch of bad fish from them (my fault and was out of maybe 6 other purchases). Rule of thumb is just don't buy fish that are in tanks with dead fish or obvious signs of disease! They always sell good sized fish which I find super respectable. Take this review from the perspective that I'm a freshwater hobbyist.

Here a few weeks ago, customer service is amazing, staff is very knowledgeable and was able to help me with stocking my 10 gallon a little better with fish and snails to accommodate my needs. Beautiful healthy little critters that are now thriving with their new tank mates. (A+++ because some stores have no clue about community compatability)Was very happy with everything, well kept store and huge selection with everything well organized and labeled. I will be back, 10 gallon is at capacity but once I spare more room for a larger tank I promise this store will be my place for everything!

I was recommended this place by some shoppers and employees at Petco. The staff was sooo friendly and knowledgeable. Without hesitation, a worker helped me pick out a variety of plants for my betta fish tank. Thank you! My tank looks great and he loves hanging out in his new plant.

Love this place. Selection, quality, affordability. It is the “unicorn” of pet stores. Friendly staff too. Aquarium adventure is so terrible. They mark up prices before a sale lol. Rude to customers, fish in poor health…. Don’t go there.

The lack of customer service these days just amazes me. I came on 2/25/23, buying 2 fish the same day, and by 2/27/23 one of my fish died. I had to wait 2/28 to call because they were closed. I was advised by the manager to bring a water sample and the fish so they could test my water levels. Now mind you I have had my fish tanks for five years so this is not a new hobby for me. I do weekly water changes and level checks. She tells me that my nitrate level was extremely high, but I showed her pictures from my test kit that showed the levels were great. I got told sorry that automatically voids the warranty & that is the risk with these types of fish…. and now I’m out $50.I just find it funny how all my other fish are fine, including the other one that I bought the same day . I have probably spent close to $250 here in the last month and a half on new fishes. Needless to say, I will never be coming back to this place.

The staff are so helpful at this store. I'm starting up my first small planted and small community 10 gallon tank. I've researched a lot, used to work a pet store in the pet care department, but I'm so nervous since it's my first larger tank.The guys there have talked me through which plants are good for beginners, what to watch out for when planting them, and have set me up with starter fish as I get the tank established.

I have been an avid aquarist for over 25 years. This is truly the only place I'll purchase fish outside of an aquatics fish swap. They sell quality, healthy fish. They take care of their tanks and animals and respect their product. Purchasing from Aquarium Adventure wiped out a 15+ year tank I had from ich. Trop-Aquatics supporter for life. Every staff member also knows what they're doing and are also aquarists!

MITE ALERT!!!! DO NOT PURCHASE LIVE RODENTS HERE!!!Went in with my own critter totes.put in my own bedding. The employee put in cedar & pine bedding on top of mine as we all know this can harm are snakes. She told me she did it because of mites? Told her I didn't want it like that that's why I used my own bedding Why would they be selling rodents with mites? Anyway, went home was preparing to feed my snakes and all the live rats & mice were ABSOLUTELY!! Crawling with MITES!! No joke the totes were practically crawling away. Most of my collection eats frozen thawed but, I do have my stubborn ones that only take live. That's why I support local but guess what, not anymore. I called to let them know about my discusting findings. And the young lady said "I told you" WHAT! You told me?! Absolutely horrible! Treated me with the absolute most disrespect! Us snake collectors & breeders understand fully how damaging a MITE infestation can be these rodents were the epitome of infested! Never witnessed anything like it in all my years in the hobby. And to Reiterate again on the disrespect I received from the young lady on the phone was absolutely horrible i will never spend one red cent in this place again.MITE ALERT !

I am so impressed with this place. All of the animals look very healthy and all the tanks are very well tended to. I came here just to get crickets for my gecko and spent a decent amount of time just looking at their wonderful fish selection. As for the crickets, they were very cheap and looked very healthy. It was about $2.30 for two dozen large crickets and they definitely gave me extra. They look like a different species of cricket than I usually get, but that was totally fine. I noticed that they chirp and sing a lot more than the ones that I get elsewhere. 5 stars, will go again!

Business owner is negligent and in employees are just as bad, terrible service that has you waiting for 30 minutes just to get a dozen ghost shrimp and be careful using cash as you will be told you can't get change back in return.Also just found out some new info about their water for those who have aquatic tanks, DO NOT USE THEIR WATER when putting any new aquatic life in your tanks.

Not a lot of things baffle me in today’s society but the service I received from the young lady working at this store on 12/5/22 left me beyond confused. She literally let this store miss out on a $200 sale over misinformation told by my girlfriend. I have a 160 gallon fish tank (installed in my wall) and 55 gallon in my bedroom. I was told no to purchasing 3 (sun) catfish?! She expressed concerns of me not having the “proper sized” tank for the fish while naming fish that I might be interested in. I just listened in utter disbelief and respectful declined the offers. My family has purchased a lot of expensive fish from this store but unfortunately this will be our last visit to this location. The guest service from the rep was insulting and ridiculous.
