Came in for dinner and was greeted by Eleanor, our waitress. She sat us and took our drink order. I wanted to try something different and she made recommendations. Was very pleased with the choice. Ordered a Sloppy Paul and a Lox bagel. Both came looking perfect and were absolutely delicious. Each dish came with a very fresh pickle. Added a fresh compliment to the meal. Got some cheesecake to go and it was excellent. Was a bit slow that night so we were able to chat with Eleanor. Her insight into the restaurant and general overall people skills made our visit very enjoyable. Will return.

We had an entirely great experience at Schmaltz Deli! The clean, bright and warm ambiance, coupled with friendly and helpful employees provided a comfortable and relaxing meal. A wide variety of bagels and assorted cream cheeses were top notch. Don't forget your bialy that's prepared on the weekends only. Assorted smoked fish sandwiches and salads, soups, egg omelets and scrambled, vegetarian offerings, yogurts, cereals, fruit bowls, oatmeal, French toast, deli hash, candied pastrami slices and a huge selection of baked goods all provide something for everybody. The outdoor seating is available for those great weather days. I highly recommend frequenting Schmaltz Deli! Well done to the ownership and staff at Schmaltz Deli! KUDOS!

Delicious Jewish deli offering some of the better deli food that I have had. My favorite thing that I had was ironically the pickle. Don't get me wrong the food was absolutely delicious from the matzah ball to all of the sandwiches. But there is something about a home made pickle that just tasted delicious, and thankfully you get one with every sandwich. The sandwich I had was one that they are known for called a "sloppy Paul" which is basically a Reuben that can use corned beef or pastrami or if you're me, ask for both. Everything just came together so well with the flavors of the meats, dressing, cheese, sauerkraut and the bread. The matzah ball soup was as filling as it was spreading its magical healing powers. It was huge filling up over half of the bowl. Nice and fluffy and warming all the same. They have two ways you can get sandwiches here, half-stuffed or overstuffed. Overstuffed means extra meat, which is never a bad thing. Along with everything they offer, they were especially excited to tell us about their latkes which are supposed to be really good (next time for sure). They also have a deli attached to the restaurant which looks absolutely delicious but the food fills you up quickly. If you're ever near Lisle, check it outParking: They have their own parking lot in front of the restaurant.

Had an absolutely delicious pastrami sandwich. Matzo ball soup was on point, very flavorful. Got some bagels to go and those are perfect as well. Perfectly chewy and very well seasoned. Not sure if it was just the timing I came in but the A/C was on incredibly high to the point where my food was getting cold quick.Overall I highly recommend and I am looking forward to trying again!

We had an amazing meal here at Schmaltz! I brought my entire family here - they have a huge party room that was able to accommodate all 30 of us! The food was incredible and the service was superb. The menu is extensive and has yummy options for all dietary restrictions and preferences, like vegetarian, vegan, and tons of carnivore options! We topped off our delicious, hefty-portioned meals with delicious cheesecake and carrot cake. The ambiance is also fantastic, the music selection is on point, and we loved the modern-industrial atmosphere. We would recommend this establishment to anyone - couples, families, friends, and large get togethers!

What a great place to eat! The food is always fantastic and the staff and owners are always so welcoming!I had the soup of the day, which was cabbage in short rib broth! Absolutely delicious! I also had the Ridiculously Good Chicken Sandwich and cheesecake! The sandwich lived up to its name and the homemade cheesecake was one of the best I have ever had!Do yourself a favor and take the time to sit down and get some amazing food here! If you don’t have time for dine in then get some to go!

Visited Schmaltz while on a recent trip to Lisle, Illinois. The food was outstanding!! We ordered for 6 people and got a wide variety of sandwiches, hot dogs and bagels. Every item was generous and beautifully made. There were no mistakes with the delivery and it was fast. My sandwich was an egg salad which can be good but frequently not based on how it is prepared. Being a vegetarian it’s a risk I have to take sometimes and it’s was perfect. Very tasty. Will visit again.

I went to drive thru and ordered a half stuffed corned beef, jumbo choc. Chip cookie and Pepsi for 21.82. I drove 30-40 min to get there and was so looking forward to a delicious sandwich like the one I had at a catered event but what a DISAPPOINTMENT!!!Nothing but fat. I have pics I hope I can post on here. Couldnt even eat it! Sent an email which was ignored. Never again!

Jim warm and welcoming host. Eleanor attentive and helpful server as well as Chris. Sandwiches not as plentiful and tasty as they use to be at former location I have had much more generous portions before. Considering finding another store for cornbeef or to be fair give Schmaltz two (2) more opportunities the ole three (3) strikes and you are outParking: Ample and close to entranceKid-friendliness: High chairs availableWheelchair accessibility: ADA Compliant throughout parking lot to interior

Fridges coolers and display cases where mostly empty. $3.50 plus tax for a can of soda is robbery. I got the over stuffed sloppy Paul. Seem to be pretty light for an over stuff. Sandwich at $20. The restaurant and layout was awkward. It took an extremely long amount of time to get a sandwich to go when they didn't appear to be highly busy. Not sure I'd go back. The sandwich overall was good but didn't blow my socks off. The meat was paper thin.

Went here for lunch yesterday. Ordered a two scoop egg salad sandwich, a bag of chips, and a large soda.My bill was $20.43 😳Now, the staff was nice, greeted me when I entered and left, and the food was good (not GREAT). But there was nothing at all about my meal that was worth $20 for an egg salad sandwich.I’d go back, if this place had somewhat more reasonable pricing. I know everything is a bit more expensive in today’s world, but $20 was CRAZY.

Food is very good, but the service really needs to step up. I waited in line for almost 10 minutes and there were only 2 people in front of me. Then waited another 15 minutes for my food to be ready. And it wasn’t even a busy time so I’m not sure what took so long. Also, over 20 dollars for a half-stuffed sandwich, chips and a fountain drink seems excessive.

If this were America’s Got Talent, all the chairs would have turned around. My wife and I came in for an omelette and French toast. Then we stayed around for a slice of the cinnamon coffee cake. Kudos to the chef and staff and all they do at Schmaltz Deli. It’s all made & baked in-house too. Definitely a slice of heaven for those who are missing Manhattan.
