A warm and welcoming atmosphere. The food is your standard frozen bar food, so I can't give it much more than 3 stars. The table next to us waited an hour for their food because their order was forgotten. However, our food came in a timely manner, and we had a different waitress. Their systems went down by the time it was time to pay, but the checkout still went smooth. Overall, I would give them another try if I were in the area.

If you are looking for a staple restaurant here in Central Illinois, you have to stop by the Idle Hour and get yourself an amazing gyro!

The food here is 7/10The service is a solid 1/10 (the Owner is super rude)There is nothing decent about this place other than the Gyro. VERY POOR SERVICE.

Absolutely the best gyro we have had in a long time. Went here for dinner while visiting the area, got the Greek gyro and it was amazing. Lots of meat and good tziki dressing, although I could have used more. Service was wonderful, had a drink at their bar following food and everyone was very friendly.

Found on the way to Chicago. It's a little drive off the freeway but if you have time to sit and have a drink and grab a bite to eat it's worth the stop.It's just a couple blocks of the old town square which I still get a kick out of that little town layout. It's located in an old building with not front windows which is a little weird when you are walking up to the door.I set at the bar and ordered a cheeseburger and a cup of broccoli cheese soup.Now, this is a little bar in a small town. So understand that when you go in. The soup was delivered in a styrofoam bowl, but was good soup. Great cheeseburger and good conversation.

From the outside, you'd probably not choose this place. But don't be fooled. The food is very good, the service is great and the prices are excellent! It is a bar/restaurant, and we were there for lunch. Quiet, comfortable and very welcoming.Vegetarian options: There are salads on the menu, but it is mostly bar food.Parking: Parking on the street is free and easy.Kid-friendliness: Kids would enjoy it.

Visited after their reopen, of course everyone was excited to have this restaurant back and was very busy! Food was great and will definitely be back. Love the new look inside and how clean it is now. My only advice to those who have never been there, let them work the kinks out and get their waitstaff trained. I would love it if they opened their drink menu up to more then just the basic well drinks. All and all, I am happy the Idle hour is back!

Stopped in one night to grab a drink and something to eat Togo. The new owners have done a great job with the place plus adding the outside area was great. Food was great. We will be going back here again

Food is good but portions are way smaller compared to old ownership. Service was slow took 70 minutes to get out food on an average night. Waitress never came by to get us refills. As mentions portions are small. We got an apatiezer of cheese balls that came with 8 not even full size and I only got 6 French fries with my meal. Not as satisfied as I was with this place 2 years ago.

We like their gyros and order out now and then. My daughter loves the gyro shoe. Nice little local joint with good selection.
