These people are great and really love the animals! They go out of their way to help and we had an amazing experience with them! Facility is nice and clean, animals get regular attention and cuddles, no kill shelter.

If you can go somewhere else to adopt I would. This place is ridiculous! The older woman, I believe her name is Lynette, is very rude like someone else previously commented. Between the lying and paperwork you’d be better off going somewhere else! As my husband put it, nothing humane about them.

Words cannot explain how my little boy is feeling today.We never leave reviews but today I feel as though it is beyond necessary.The lady who does the adoptions here is so rude it just threw me back.We have several animals so we are well aware of the adoption process, but thislady denied me to even fill out an application because we did not have a fenced in yard. Didn't even ask if we would consider putting up a fence, without asking if we live in the country or in town. I was just blown away and speechless!Her demeanor and her rudeness is just unacceptable! I understand the importance of findinggood homes for animals and making sure it is a good fit! I understand that you may be deniedfrom adopting a pet and that is not at all the problem! I just want to express my frustrations with this lady and that she needs to realize how rude she is and the next time a family comes in especially with children how about beingnicer and asking more questions about us and our environment instead of you already personally making up your mind that we were a no! Because that is absolutely how she came off!I would never tell anyone not to go here because again it is all about the animals and finding them a loving home but this lady needs to work on her customer service skills and I sure hope she doesn'ttreat the animals this way. Perhaps she should find another line of work! No-excuse for her behavior!

What a wonderful facility! My husband and I had been looking for a dog for a while when we saw the pics of Rebel (now Cash) and knew he was meant to be ours. Lynette was easy to work with and clearly cared about the animals in her care. Cash was a healthy 6 month old (giant) puppy who is now a loved member of the family. We wouldn't hesitate to adopt from this shelter again or to support it with our donations.

I called several times to get the answer of user busy! It took me about 30 minutes to get ahold of the facility and when I did, the lady was so rude and disrespectful. I sent my grandmother to the facility to look for a kitten for her. Little did I know, the lady treated my grandmother like an animal with no rights. She was extremely rude with her sarcastic communication. The kitten that we found, she never told us anything about her and said that we might not get her. I understand about the application process, but the fact that she demanded a DL, mail to prove the address, and asked if we had our own carrier. We don’t at the time, but we will get one and she said that’s not optional. She told my grandma that they won’t be open until Tuesday next week and possibly won’t here back about the kitten for a couple weeks. Never did she mention that we would ever get a call back if we did get chosen for the kitten. If this is how she treats customers, I wonder how she treats the animals there!!

I wanted to share this true, but unusual story. So I called several shelters within a 50 mile radius of Mason City looking for ha ermit crab for my classroom. All shelters gave me the same answer, "we never get them in". When I called the Logan county shelter the yourg lady said in four years, they have never receive any. I didn't want to give up so I shared my name and phone number with them. The manager came to work the next morning and guess what was sitting on the bench outside, yep four cuties😊The manager went through all of the recycled paper looking for my phone number. She called me and I picked them up tonight.I want to thank the person who magically left them for me. I am a special education teacher and my students will love them.Thank you, they will have a good home!

I am on a fixed income and I have one furbaby. Cooki, my cat, is the only family that I have. I get paid on the first of the month, I buy cat food and litter. Usually lasts all month, not this month however. Cooki has food but ran out of litter. I called the hs and left messages that I needed help, no one called me back. I don't drive either I have to find someone to pick it up, but no one called me back!

I volunteer here all the time. Almost all the animals are very friendly, and the staff is great. They're open Tuesday thru Saturday. They close at 4:30, so try to get there before 3-ish if you can. It can take a while to close up
