Had lunch here. Crab stuffed mushrooms were very good. Had a burger and chips as well, the burger was just okay for me. Chips were crispy and had great flavor. Service was good with very friendly staff. The burger just missed a bit for me. The rest of the menu looked very intriguing and I’ll look forward to sampling the next time in in town

My wife and I went to the blue dog steakery this evening for our date. We were greeted as soon as we got through the door with smiles and all of the staff was really nice. We had the "soup flight" with all in house made soups! We had potato, chili, and french onion soup that were in their own individual bread bowls. We also tried the original smash burger with their "in house made chips" and The Western smash burger that was complete with onion straws! Both came loaded with all the fixins and were phenomenal, however The Western smash burger was the talk of the two! It came with barbecue sauce that really set the burger off! We were both very pleased with our visit and highly recommend giving them a try! I know we'll be back!

I have been here a couple of times and its easily my favorite spot in town. The owners are nice and the lady owner can talk to her customers forever. The staff was fast and very attentive and extremely nice. I had the Rueben sandwich it had just the right amount of salt to not be overwhelming but enough that it tasted delicious. I highly recommend this establishment

This was our second time trying it(first time was not great and we thought maybe just an off day so decided to try it again) ordered different food. This is the photo of the potatoes (they are mostly burnt with some large rotten spots) that they charge over $12 for. Our order also had the Rueben and the chicken sandwich the Rueben had soggy bread and tasted terrible. The chicken sandwich had soggy breading with soggy bread too. We spent over $66 on food that was all thrown away. Save your money get food at one of the other local restaurants that take pride in their food

My family met for our Easter meal. I have wanted to try BDS since they opened. I expected 10 of us but we ended up with 8. I had called a few days before to ensure we would have a place for our large group. The room in the back was perfect. It does need some decor (maybe Lincoln pics?).The menu has something for everyone. We started with the Irish Spuds McKenzie (pic- served in a plastic dog bowl! We’re all dog lovers, so this was funny!). The app was great!I had the Bird of Paradise. It was huge and excellent. The sourdough was grilled to perfection. Rave reviews of the burger, french onion soup, spicy quesadilla, wrap & chicken sandwich. The corned beef was dry though. She did take half home.The sandwich portions are generous. Several of us took half home.We had a great time eating and visiting. The staff was great!Wheelchair accessibility: I use a cane. It was a bit tricky for me to get in due to various levels. Nothing huge but enough to cause me to be careful. The building itself is quite narrow. But I think a wheelchair could make it through if they had to go to the back. There is a sloped access to the sidewalk from the street.

New owner. Appears the restaurant has down scaled, had little burger stand tables. Prices have seem to go up. Cheeseburger just wasn’t the same. Sure it cost more. Ordered the wings came out bone dry and cold. When I requested sauce, it must’ve been a problem because I never received it. Just seem they really didn’t care much about Service.

Potato soup perfect!Italian beef wonderfully made with shredded beef. Homemade chips and potato salad very good too. The potatoes in the soup and potato salad were tender firm, not mushy.We will be back again.

Searching the area for a non-chain restaurant for supper and came upon the Blue Dog!Had the 10oz sirloin, it was delicious! Next visit I'll have the XXXL tenderloin but I was in a steak mood. The waitress was incredible and attentive. The owners and cook all came to the table and visited with us. Wonderful experience.Food came out fast. Priced fairly. Even had dessert. All 10's from me! Will definitely be back.

Joined a group of about 20 people for dinner. Some of us traveled between 30-70 miles to meet up here. Place is really nice inside with what appears to be original decor. Even the upper portion of the walls and the ceiling are the old original tin designs. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Orders taken and there was a slight wait for food to start arriving which wasn't really a problem since they also had a really nice bar. Food arrived and was passed around pretty evenly. No body had the wrong order or had to send anything back. Food was good and dessert CUPCAKES & Pie was excellent.

My wife and I did a little downtown shopping in Lincoln. We had a few restaurants to choose from. We both loved the atmosphere and the warm welcome from the employees. Our waiter was great and the food was awesome. I had the Philly steak sandwich with fries. Everything was hot and delicious when it came out, so it made for a great day in Lincoln.

Honestly was a very nice experience, I worried with being new they would still be catching up to speed but my service was great! Lena was very lovely and attentive. She was also so kind helping my fiancé out with accommodating his vegetarian diet. The food was delicious and the salad bar was set with great options, especially for a good price. Definitely will be going back 🙂

Our server was very sweet and helpful. The food was a little bland. My husband had the Philly sandwich and he said that it was dry. I had a soup and salad. The salad was OK, but the soup tasted like Campbell's, salty and meh. The only thing that I thought tasted good was fried.

The food was wonderful and the staff was great! The owners were so friendly and went to every table to make sure everyone was spoken to and asked about their food.Please be patient everyone! They have just opened and are getting themselves settled in. Don’t be cruel and judgmental! Be kind and thankful they are talking a HUGE chance on Lincoln!!! We stopped in this evening on our way home in Normal. The staff greeted us right away and were very friendly. The building is older and interesting. Francesca was our server and she was helpful with an energetic attitude and a warm and friendly smile. We just planned on a light supper and the salad bar seemed like the perfect idea. It’s one of the nicest salad bars we’ve seen since before covid! Plenty of variety, fresh rolls, baked potatoes that were jumbo size, all kinds of toppings, a great chili and also a potato soup rounded out tonights selection. Almost forgot, there was a corn/cabbage salad in the line up that was outstanding!We’re planning to go back and try some of the tempting menu items and their homemade desserts, which according to our server change daily. Try the Blue Dog Steakery, you’ll like it!!

We finally tried this place out today and I was really disappointed. It was so unbelievably cold in the building. My smash burger was extremely salty tasting. Not to mention that I thought it was very overpriced.

First time eating here. Met with a group for lunch.The appetizers (potato skins and cheese curds) were excellent!I ordered a cheeseburger and it too was delicious. Chips were so so (I should have ordered the fries instead). I also had the salad bar which was ok. Ordered the chocolate cake with ice cream and that too was good.We are definitely returning to try the other menu items.Great service. Great atmosphere and plenty of seating.Great

Three of our meals were not fully cooked. Our appetizers showed up right before our main course meal even though we ordered them 15 minutes before we ordered our food, and my wife's salad came after the main dish of a $40 steak. Also their menu's didn't have everything on them, especially their sides and not all were the same price as the other. Fried pickles looked burnt to a crisp but were pretty decent tasting and their fries tasted really good, aside from that it was a very awful experience for a business that just changed ownership and added steaks and other dishes to the menu.

We came in, got seated. We ordered our food & then got up to get our soup & salad. Someone sat an older couple at our table. So we only paid for our soup & salad. We had also ordered 2 Porter House steaks that were medium well done. We never got our food. So we left. Sat there for over an hour. Danielle was our waiter. I did like her. She did a good job. But whoever the person in that was suppose to turn tickets in should've turned in hers for our food. Please have a talk with your employees. You all shouldn't be losing customers!!!!
