My friends in other states always talk about the Piggly Wiggly and I've never actually stepped foot in one. Since I drove past one today naturally I had to go in and check it out. I haven't seen one of those old shopping carts in such a long time it was parked right outside of the building so I went up to it obviously and lifted it and then put it back down again, it reminded me of my childhood! Upon entering the store I noticed the floor first, it was a fun checkered pattern but also a bit outdated. I found the restroom right away and I realized how badly it needed updating. Paint was peeling everywhere, the smell was a bit old and it didn't look like it had been cleaned in a while. However the food that was in the store was all very much fully stocked and we found a nice looking grill brush so we grabbed that. The floral department was really nice and there were a lot of fresh flowers that smelled great. I'm glad that I can now say that I have been inside of a Piggly wiggly.

Very happy with the customer service. Love the bakery staff and the cheese bread that they bake. Chicken from the store is exceptional and great deals on it. The flowers are beautiful and last up to 2 weeks. The flowers are more economical that buying from other florists. I love this store so much. It is very clean and provides other options that other stores do not. If you watch the ads you can purchase some foods at lower prices than at other stores. Tammy is wonderful!!

Wow! Way over priced!! But the lady at customer service was a sweetheart. And the employees all seem very nice whenever I go there, which is rarely because Walmart is right up the road and I prefer to shop in a practical manner.

We don't have one of these at home so I definitely love to come and shop at one when I have the chance. The chocolate chip cookies are good they have a decent selection there's some stuff that is a little expensive but they also have a lot of stuff at good pricing. Clean building with a nice staff.

Piggy Wiggly is the only full grocery store in Galena. Good location 2 miles from Downtown Galena. The staff is so friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend if you are visiting Galena or live here. 😉 They have everything I am looking for. By the way I highly recommend the Chicken. Very tasty. Travel photographer from Chicago.

Your average grocery store. Was there in the morning and they only had 1 aisle open... There was a person with a cart full of stuff. There were 4 people behind that person, including me and we all had only 1 or 2 items each. Basically what should've taken less than 5 minutes took over 20 minutes. I would have given 4 stars but the lack of the company hiring 1 or 2 more people they would rather only pay 1 person.

I agree with others. Very overpriced but what isn't in Galena, Illinois. Probably because it's a small town local business. But still I know what to get at the pig and I know what to get at Walmart and meat is one thing to get at the pig but I'm not going to spend two to $3 extra for the same item I can get at Walmart but I live here and not a visitor. Quite honestly, the owner isn't that friendly but I don't have to deal with her on a daily basis. Depending on the cashier, most are nice but some are kinda crabby and don't take the time to properly baggage items. The young cashier always does. I will continue to shop there but again I know the things to buy there and I know the things not to.

We got a beautiful USDA Prime Rib from here for Thanksgiving!! Excellent customer service and beautiful cut of meat!

Such a well stocked store, variety, exotic and also all the standard expected foods. The meat looked lovely and every store employee that I passed or encountered made sure to at the very least acknowledge my existence. Also they have Piggly wiggly merch and evidently a "slot machine" casino

They have the best chicken in all of the lands, hands down better then any chicken you can get in Iowa!! And the slot room was ripe for the taking walked out with 3k was a great day!!!!!

Friendly employees and great deals! My MIL loves when we bring her hot lunch from the deli! She's also enjoys their selection of cold salads. I love their endless surprises in front of the checkouts! I've found cell phone accessories of great quality, and votive candles with my name spelled out in perfectly placed tiny holes in the ceramic!

I e never had any issues while shopping here. The staff is alright, they don’t go out of their way to help, but that’s okay. The prices are higher here, but they have a lot more than Walmart, the only other grocery store in town. I personally love the old school vibe. This place is not modern or new at all, but that makes it more enjoyable. Even have a flower shop, meat counter, produce, gaming area and outdoor eating area.

What a great & unexpectedly awesome our experience was. Kevin was our cashier and he is phenomenal. We are on a weekend getaway to Galena. Trying to unwind and make fun memories. Never thought a fond memory would be made at Piggly Wiggly. Our daughter (7) saw the horsey ride and asked if she could ride it. Kevin immediately said that YES she could ride it. I asked how much it was and he said a penny. I found a penny and him and my daughter shuttled off onto their journey. He'd pressed the button and my kiddos previously quarantined soul and joy became pure enjoyment! Another staff member had stepped in to ring up customers and our fun wasn't cut short by any means. It was nice to not feel rushed. And when he told us his name was Kevin, our daughter said that's my Bapa's name! Kevin's are good people. Thankful for the simple fun times and memories that are made thanks to people sharing a willingness and carries it through with ambition! Thanks Kevin, you made our day!

Fairly decent selection but pretty high prices considering the volume of traffic. Really could benefit from a few more beer coolers or a cave since beers that demand refrigeration were warm while seltzers & such were cold. Friendly staff 👍

Nicole was so helpful and kind--she offered to help us at the deli counter (although it was closed) after a long day of travel and we so appreciated her assistance! The store is very clean, organized, and has a great selection. Highly recommend!

Bought 'fresh fish' for dinner. Turned out to not be that fresh. 5 min from store to home... into fridge. By the time I was ready to cook just a couple hours later it was not usable... the smell alone almost drove me out of my own home. Very disappointing. (Response to PW... It was the Cod. Appreciate you offering refund but we have already left the area, We were camping nearby.)

Historically 45% more expensive than wal-mart a quarter mile up the road. Food club generics are disgusting, meat is poor quality. Chicken always smells of salmonella. The kitchen and food prep smells rotten and is full of flies I'm the summer.

I absolutely love The Pig and will usually stop in when I'm close by one. This location is really nice. Plan to stop again before we head home. Then it's unfortunately back to Chi-town. 😔
