How have I lived mere blocks away for 10 years and not realized this gem was in my backyard?Awesome toy store, hobby shop. Very nice selection of curated toys, puzzles, trains, Legos, models, you name it.This is the kind of toy store I live to shop at, with unique and quality items. The woman there asked me my kids ages and interests and helped me find several items they would enjoy.Highly recommend stopping in here and finding some treasures!

I ordered 2 paper trimmers from this company, delivered to Canada. The price in Canadian dollars was $372.51. When the trimmers arrived, the box was crushed and torn apart. The contents were destroyed. The courier taped the box back together. Their first response was what do you want us to do? I wanted the courier to pay for the damage. They said they had insurance, and they asked for pictures. I provided them with pictures, so they could claim insurance.After giving them the pictures, I repeatedly contacted Oakridge about my refund. They didn’t answer my emails. After writing a bad review, my refund was finally processed - it took them close to 2 months to give me a refund. Be careful ordering online from this business.

One heck of a fast delivery. The packaging was outstanding. There was no way the spray bottle would have ruptured the way it was insulated. Talk about a fast delivery. The package came sooner than expected. Thank you for such sterling service.

I am visited by a large colony of orioles each spring that stay until fall, so I buy Birdberry Jelly by the case, sometimes going through 2 cases! Oakridge Hobbies has the best price and the shipping is really fast. I highly recommend!

It was our first time at the store today and we loved it! The store is so cute and the owner Sue is amazing. We found two Tonies for our daughters Toni boxes for Easter. They have a great selection of toys, trucks, legos, Pokémon, collectibles and more. She said they even fix kids bikes. We will for sure be back, check them out next time you’re in town.

So Oakridge was the ONLY place I could find what I wanted with the right price (everywhere else had the price jacked way up) I had never heard of them before but my fiancée told me to give them a try. I had never heard of them because I’m from AL but the shipping was surprisingly fast and they kept me updated on everything throughout the process. The item was also very well protected and arrived in great condition.

There is an amazing selection of model kits available online from Oakridge.The item I was interested in was in back stock in their other warehouse, so I plan to order online for pickup.Both members of the staff who I interacted with were friendly and helpful. My BFFs husband is currently in a motorized wheel chair, though using a front wheel walker to strengthen his legs following back surgery. We purchased a similar item for my Mom's wheeled walker and she got a great kick out of it. In searching the internet to purchase this as a Christmas gift, I came across Oakridge Hobbies and just the item that would fit perfectly on both his wheel chair and walker. It makes a variety of noises and from I'm hearing, has been a hit over the holidays. Although, my BFF might have to take the batteries out if he gets too carried away. Placing the order was easy, price was reasonable and shipping was fast- arriving well before Christmas despite my late ordering.

A very large black bear came into my yard late last winter and knocked down and crushed several of my bird feeders. So I bought six tree hooks that allowed me use a broom handle to place the feeders much higher in the trees so they are no longer easy targets.

Brilliant people and amazing deals on their site!!! I totally encourage those looking for Lawn Fawn items to check this place out - it's not often you see more than 20% off brand new Lawn Fawn stamps and dies. And their clearance items? Blew my mind - only regret is not picking up the Simply Celebrate Winter stamps and cute Little Flower dies... which means return haul! Their shipping is on par but I found they're willing to work with you, even if it's your own fault for forgetting to include an item. Susan readily assisted me in such a way that not only would I not have to pay for a separate shipment but the shipping cost didn't jump up either! I *LOVE* that kind of service and more so because it's rare to find well mannered, competent and proficient professionals these days.Another mention is Chris, who patiently answered all my questions on two different occasions. During our first call, he did not rush me off the phone and spent 15-20 minutes explaining their shipping methods, how a computer algorithm dictates the price and that I was welcome to call him, after I made my purchase, to receive back any excess shipping costs (my items are flat, relatively small and light enough to be stuffed into one envelope).<3 How is *that* for CUSTOMER service! <3 For our second call, Chris reassured me that my "dropped" item made it into my shipment before it left Oak Ridge Hobbies, even though the computer said otherwise. He's always polite and gracious enough to share his knowledge on various companies and/or subject matter pertaining to Oak Ridges operations.They have other major players in the papercrafting and hobby industry like Tim Holtz, Sizzix, Hero Arts, etc. so check them out! They're truly there for their customers and should be lauded for doing right, not nitpicked by some misanthropes.

The Hobby Shop is pretty cool. It is tucked away and looks like an old house. Staff was very friendly. I packed up the kiddos and stopped in because their website said they were an authorized Traxxas service center. After waiting in line and making it to the counter, the RC car dude said he did not want to service Traxxas cars any longer and recommended I go somewhere else. Recommend calling first if you need anything specific so you are not disappointed.

Happened a few years ago but still valid. Since this happened, I've purchased several more cars, and countless parts, bodies and batteries for them; none of which came from Oakridge.I live very close to Oakridge Hobbies. An RC truck was on one of my kids' christmas lists this year. I'd prefer to support a local business, so I called Oakridge to check price and availability. They said that they didn't have it in stock but they would be getting a shipment the following Wednesday, and the price was the same as I was finding on the internet. They said they would call me as soon as they got the shipment and I could come pick it up.On Friday (after the wednesday that the shipment was supposed to have arrived) I was driving by and thought I would stop in and see if I could pick up the truck. The people at the desk seemed confused that I was in their store, trying to spend a couple hundred dollars with them. They said that "the truck may have come in. The shipment is here but nobody has unpacked it yet". So obviously they weren't interested is making the sale that day. They again said to leave my info and they would contact me once they had gone through the shipment, "probably later that afternoon or Monday at the latest".That afternoon and Monday came and went, As did Tuesday and Wednesday with no call from Oakridge. On Wednesday I ordered the same truck online from a hobby shop in Minnesota, and it was delivered in 2 days.Had I relied on the promises of my local shop, I would have been empty handed come Christmas morning. So now if I need parts I will gladly drive 15 minutes to Hobbytown USA in Orland Park (great shop, helpful staff and convenient hours), or order online and wait a few days for delivery. Anything to avoid Oakridge!

This is a top notch hobby store! There is something for everyone. I like to support family owned businesses like this one because of the personal service that you receive. Very nice people at this store, very helpful.
