“This location has the BEST customer service I’ve seen in a long time. I had my sump pump go out late last night. I called the store, and I apologize, but I don’t have the associate's name. I shared my dilemma of needing a sump pump. He immediately checked to ensure he had one in stock. I asked if he would wait for me as I would arrive after closing. Not only did he wait for me after closing, but the team had everything ready at the register. I’m in retail as well, and it’s great to see that businesses still go above and beyond for their customers."

At the time of purchase everyone was nice, however:Return is a nightmare:1. You can return only to one location (I live 40 min away driving)2. Return period on all items is 30 days3. People at checkout are not welcoming returns.4. Some items are overpriced.5. You can not return an open package so if you buy something and if sealed you are stuck with it forever.I will drive 10 min longer and buy at Home Depot next time.

Beware. This store sells items in packaging that, while designed to appease VP's of loss prevention, effectively make Ace Hardware the thieves, as in your money. I have had these guys steal my money twice by having packaging requiring it's destruction to get at an item to test its suitability. Once I chose the wrong product, the next (and last) time I bought something based on their recommendation and both times Ace refused to stand behind their products and accept a return. I can understand my mistake, but not theirs. In order to steal over fifty bucks from me, Ace has chosen to forego ALL my future purchases. Caveat Emptor. Never again.

Archaic return policy (all sales final pretty much), better off shopping on Amazon or Menards unless you're 100% certain it's what you need. Bought a laser measure (ace only had one type in stock) up to 65'. Turns out my basement is longer than that so i had to buy another laser online. Ace refused to help or take the return even though no signs in the store stating their policy. Needless to say I'll just take the extra 5 minutes next time and go to Menards.

Knowledgeable, helpful, friendkt staff that helps you get the job done right the first time. Priced a touch higher than big box stores but they are so much more helpful and able to immediately assist you. I love this place and highly recommend it!

I purchased exterior semi gloss paint and when I painted the right post on my project it was a medium blue, although can says black. Mistakes happen so when I went back to return clerk said we do not return open items and how does he know I used there paint. I explained i am honest bought this yesterday. The owner approached us said the clerk is not questioning my integrity and called me a f..g as....e yes I said oh really thanks that's nice great way to treat you customers question there integrity then call them f....ng as..... Owner is very unprofessional and good luck getting your money back with receipt after buying paint that isn't the color stated on the can unbelievable I hope no one else has to deal with this owner...

Had keys made here and had the best experience. I had three to four different salesman try to help me and the cashier was friendly. While their, they were talking to other customers by name!Nice place.

Have shopped here quite a few times, never had any problems. I make the drive from Bolingbrook every month or so, especially for grilling/smoker necessities. Also have ordered Benjamin Moore paint a few times and that went well.Staff is friendly and pricing is very fair. Keep up the good work!

When arriving at Ace I was greeted by staff and ask if I needed assistance even though I knew what I was going in for and where I was going it was a kind gesture to know that they were there to help with any need that I had everyone in the store was very kind the cashiers operation went very smoothly and I noticed that the gentleman making keys had a very clean booth and was very detailed in his operation I highly suggest this Ace hardware to anyone in need of assistance in any home maintenance or renovation! They had a great selection of everything that you might need for a hardware store and might I add a great selection of nuts and bolts

I have always had wonderful, friendly service at my Lemont Ace Hardware. However, yesterday when I was in the parking lot parking lot trying to jumpstart my car, two of your employees came out to assist me. I didn't get their names, but they went beyond customer service. Nice people, but don't go there for keys to be made, unless you have all day, and a full tank of gas to run back and forth testing bad keys, because out of 12 different keys, only three worked on first try. The others wouldn't even fit in the door locks, as the blanks were totally wrong. Most of those screw-ups were redone at least 3 times. Over two days, four different staff members, none of them could get it right. Later learned from others in town that they have had the same experience with car keys made there as well. Best of all, when I asked for a free duplicate for all my trouble, I was told "NO".

Always have loved Ace! It is not a warehouse store with bins and pallets. It is a store with shelves an hooks. There always seem to be staff to help with questions and support. It is typically easier to find what you need quickly there.

Work sends me to the hardware store and most the time I don't have a clue what I'm picking up. I've received great help every time I've needed it and usually they aren't too crowded so I can get help quickly.

Whenever I visit Ace hardware in Lemont, I am so fortunate to have a Staff Member named Emily there to assist me, other Staff Members there are also helpful and professional, I hope that management holds on to the Staff that they have,and knows that they are Blessed to have Them.

I only use Ace Hardware period, the big box facilitys are too hard to find find a knowledgeable person to share insightful hints, or things you've overlooked.I signed up for Ace Rewards to take advantag of sale items and discounts.My total visit was less than 15 minutes and got 100% of my items to finish my task.Like the commercial used to say"Ace is the place with the helpful hardware man"

I purchased a Weber grill and I asked for free assembly and delivery because Lowes offered this. I was told they will see what can be done, and they would get back to me. I paid for the grill and left. Approximately a week later I received a phone call asking if I could take delivery. I said yes, but no one showed up. Several days later I stopped in the store to get a status update. I was told by the employee that he has to make a phone call. After 15 minutes he came out of the back room and said it can be delivered next Monday. On that Monday, I received a call; and I was told I had to pay $50 for the delivery. While I didn’t care for the charge, I was willing to pay it because I usually try to support Lemont based businesses. So I offered to give them my credit card information over the phone. He refused me and said I could pay cash upon delivery, or I could stop in the store and pay in advance with my credit card. I chose to stop in the store, cancel my order and get full credit. Upon returning home I made a PHONE call to Lowes and used my credit card to order the grill for the same price Ace wanted, and I received free assembly and delivery. My issue is not the fifty bucks. It is the complete lack of customer care. It took me approximately 5 minutes to accomplish with Lowes what Ace could not, or would not, do in over two weeks.
