Can’t stay up late here. Make any kind of noise after 9 they are visiting your site. We are not a loud group. Just us and 3 younger kids. We had two camp sites to have our older kids visit the next day so they were already paid for if under 18, but the owners wife charged them when they came in because “they looked old” didn’t bother to ID them. The owner wouldn’t offer to refund any other way besides us driving all the way back down there (as I didn’t find out until I was told they were charged until later). Owners are very buddy buddy with the people who rent the rvs so it seems they aren’t as friendly to those coming for a weekend camp. We can often and we won’t coming back.

This is a campground with LOADS of things to do from swimming in the lake and climbing on an "iceberg" climbing wall, water trampoline, kids water slide and more. There is a pool as well, putt-,putt golf, pedal go carts you can rent for hr kids to ride around the campground, a general store, you can order food there, two playgrounds and very friendly people. We loved it so much we became permanent campers here now.

Great place to go camping with kids. Campsites are close together but that doesn’t bother me. They have bathrooms with showers. Lots of fun activities to keep kids entertained. They have a large sanded pond with inflatables, inground pool, pedal cars, mini golf, small playground, small walking trail, volley ball net, and more. They have a little shop and prices are decent. They also do a glow stick dance party some nights. I’ve been taking my kids there for three years and I’ll probably take them next year. They do allow alcohol. My only complaint is sometimes a few of their showers are out of order.

Rented the Deluxe Cabin. Don't be fooled. Nothing deluxe about this. It's basically a Home Depot shed with a porch on the outside and two lofts. When we booked, it was explained that there was a wall separating the beds. It is basically glorified bunk beds. It would only take a couple hundred bucks and some elbow grease to make the cabin more welcoming. Bathrooms were OK, could have been better, could have been worse. Short walk away from cabin, but too far to let women and children go alone at night. Did not use the coin operated shower.Great playgrounds for kids but again - for a hundred bucks, slap some rustoleum outdoor spray paint on the 1950s playground equipment.

Campsite was full of trash when we checked in. We had to clean up ourselves. Our friends came out with their campers and they had to clean up their site before they parked their rig for the weekend. They let the public in to swim in the lake which is fine but they let way too many non campers in. All campsites are too close together, they really pack the grounds full. We've been coming here on and off for nearly 30 years and will not return after this trip is complete.

We love visiting here as a family. The days goes by so quickly with all the activities, swimming and lake fun. The beach is nice and the slide is endless laughter. Bring a tub! They have air to fill up any inflatables!Nearby activities: Fun bikes to rent, mini golf, volleyball and bags available on sightWalkability: Easy to get around the campground. Mostly rocky roads but some paved pathsFood & drinks: Food and Drinks available at the office and gift shop. Yummy hand scooped ice-cream and hot foods out the kitchen.

This was our first year here and we really loved it! Staff was friendly and helpful. Gift shop prices were super reasonable when the kids wanted ice cream or candy. Pool was clean. Kids loved the big water slide and the Gaga pit. The glow stick dance party was awesome!!

People were super nice. We went Father’s Day weekend. I have never seen so many campers the place was packed. It was overwhelming and very cramped. We camped through Monday so after everyone left on Sunday it was very nice. But they never cleaned up the bathrooms they were disgusting!!!

This is such a fun place! The customer service is great too. I had reserved the small shelter a few weeks in advance. We ended up with more people that we originally thought. They were super awesome and let us up grade to the larger shelter last minute since is was not already booked. There was plenty for the older kids and the younger kids. We plan on getting the whole family together out there to camp!

I’ve taken my kids here twice this week! We’re going to buy a pass, neither time we’ve gone it was crowded or anything. The option to use the pool is awesome! Everything is super clean, and I love all the options they have! The owner and all the staff have been super nice also. I really appreciate how they enforce the rules also. They expect you to watch your children and follow the rules that you signed too which makes it great for young kids IMO. The megaphone guy is funny waking around and actually talking with people. It’s not that hard to follow simple rules. The store inside is great with all the available options of treats and toys. The bathrooms were open to use and had showers too that you can use when you swim! There also was an air hose to blow up all the floaters, which was awesome. Well he going back as much as possible!

It was so overly crowded. There were dirty diapers around site. Our campfire had so trash in it. We had so much trash in the fire. We had to clean it up ourselves. Not worth the amount of money you pay for it. Greedy owners. Terrible.

My son went swimming with his friends a couple days ago.. he has been in and out of hospital since fighting off a bacterial infection. Be warned and if you have taken your children here to swim please keep an eye out for temps or anything unusual with you or your children.

Hi Tide is a hidden gem! Hi tide is so much fun for the whole family. Today we visited the beach. They have added a new slide and log runner toy since the last time we visited and it was a huge hit with our kids. They have quite a few blow up inflatable water toys to enjoy as well. The beach has plenty of shade and picnic tables to enjoy while you visit. You can also use the pool if you choose for $1 extra. The beach area is clean as well as the facilities. We have not had a chance to camp here yet so we can not speak about the campsites. We as a family really enjoy spending the day here and can't wait to come back .

Where do I start? This place is not good for larger RV's the sites are extremely small. We had no table or firepit. Even if we had them we wouldn't have room for it. Your lucky you could have your car there on site. The lake has leeches and is filthy. They open up the lake and pool to the public so it gets crazy with people. When I asked why they do that on holiday weekends and they said " for the money ".They are so unorganized behind the front desk. Ordering ice cream was even an issue.During bingo they had music playing so you couldn't hear the numbers being called.Plus no miniature golf. They say it was under construction but from the look of it it hasn't been worked on for a long time. The DJ was good and the store was nice. The pool was clean. We had a 26 ft Grand Design RV

I love this place! We've been coming here for years, and the new owners are soo very friendly! 😊 I know they have some renovations to do, and I'm sure it's a lot of work, but the oneeee thing I pray they fix/upgrade very soon is the showers. They were re-tiled in recent years, but more definitely needs to be done. The shower floors are absolutely disgusting 🤢🤮. Seriously gross. Like, even wearing flip flops I felt disgusting (kinda the opposite feeling you're supposed to have while getting clean). They need to not only be SCRUBBED clean, but painted or re-tiled or something!Second gripe about the showers: the curtains need to be replaced. The inner shower curtain was disgusting and not wide enough. The outer curtain that is supposed to provide privacy is slightly transparent. While a DOOR with a lock would be ideal, the outer curtain should at least have some velcro on the wall or something to provide at least a little peace of mind that the kids that are playing at the play ground 10 feet away won't come in and just throw back the curtains (it's happened).Third gripe: While there is a hook in the area between the two curtains there also needsss to be a bench or shelf or something in there!! I can hang up my towel and the clean clothes I'm about to wear, but where am I supposed to set my dirty clothes? On the dirty wet floor? Yes, that's exactly what I had to do 🤢. Or where am I supposed to set my travel bag with toiletries that I don't want to get wet? The only option is outside of the shower on the one bench that anyone can access. The showers are also coin-operated, which I do not mind one bit, it saves water and keeps the kids from leaving them running all night, that being said, they are inconsistent with their timing. Will I get 3 minutes from one quarter or 10? Who knows. 🤷♀️I hope the showers are upgraded during this winter season and will definitely update my review if any improvements have been made! 😊

We just stayed one night, thank goodness! We have a 32 ft fifth wheel and it’s a challenge to get into the sites. It’s doable, but a pain due to how close the sites are from across the road. I would say 3/4 of the RV’s here are full time living in the park or seasonal. The sites are extremely close together and they don’t allow you to put a carpet down, which is terrible because most of our site was dirt. There is only one exit and the dump station is right where everyone has to exit and you can’t get by the other side. So one has to wait quite a while to exit and we didn’t need to use the dump station, because we had full hookups. This is a huge inconvenience not to mention pore planning/ design of this park. It was fine for one night.

We just spent the weekend and really enjoyed ourselves. Sites, facilities and amenities were clean. Rules are clearly posted and enforced. Really seemed to keep everything safe. Our kids had a blast, there is a ton for them to do. If you're looking to have a private dance party at your site after quiet hours this is not your place. Very family friendly, we would recommend it and plan on returning.

It does have obstacles for kids to play on in the pond. My friend and I waited until everyone was out of the swimming area of the the pond. He brought his RC boat out and we where booted immediately. Another friend of mine rented a cabin and it was still infested with bed bugs. They got there money back but they still had to bag there clothes up and either burn or take a chance with the wash machine. This was all the same weekend. I say use at your own risk.

What was initially intended to be a two day (relaxing, therapeutic) birthday getaway, I ended up staying an entire week!!Great place to get away with friends or significant other. Really nice, personable staff that seemingly work around the clock to ensure a memorable experience for campers. Owners, Chris and his wife, Virginia, are absolutely amazing with respect to hospitality. There's a nice hiking trail, creek and lake for fishing, and plenty of things to do if you're visiting with children. Totally recommend. If you're camping, I'd suggest booking 70, 71, 72, or 73 because it has a wonderful view of the creek and bridge that lead to peaceful 1/2 mile trails. They have ice, fire wood, and other essentials for sale; clean latrines / showers; water faucet and electrical outlet near campsites are helpful options — especially for us city folks who can't seem to escape our handheld electronics. In any event, I will definitely return with friends in the coming weeks; at which point, I'll finally take advantage of... well, everything else they have to offer!! 😊

An honest review of Hi-Tide:My friends and I came and reserved two sites. One of us had a tent and the other had a pop up camper and visited the weekend of July 9th. I would say the campground was 90% occupied.Pros:- The amount of activities! This campground is super family friendly. Lake, pool, pedal carts, mini golf, fishing, arcade and then the activities that they do on the weekends means that you won't be bored.- Staff is very friendly and accommodating, especially considering how busy they are. Met the owner (they took ownership in March) and was very helpful.- Prices in the shop and concessions were very reasonable.- Cleanliness of bathrooms/showers/laundry mat. Keep in mind this is largely based on the people who stay here, but I will say that it was pretty clean, especially considering it was a muddy mess outside when we visited due to rain.- Spacing of sites. I can only speak to the sites I went to, which were very nice. Sites 72 and 73 had great shade, spacing, and had a nice view of the creek.Areas of improvement:- Repair of arcade games. About half of the games were inoperable.- Repair of showers and/or add more showers. This wasn't a huge deal but if you tried to take a shower during the busy times, you were guaranteed to wait if you were a woman.- Provide wall mounted hair dryers.Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and are already planning to come back next month!

It was ridicoulous how many outside people they let in the campground. The maintence man said they let 1500 outside daily people in on Sat. that paide $13 beach. Couldnt swim in the pool CLOSED because so dirty. The pool was even closed on Monday. The lake was black from being stirred up!! Grandkids have bad ear infection from the lake. Parking the campers was a nightmare with the small dead in road! Never will we go back with all the money we paid. Charged for everything little thing. Very Disappointing!!!!!! All they want to do is make $$$$$$

Fun family weekend. Lots of activities on Saturday. Beach and water inflatables are amazing. Great place to go camping. At the moment, the 1/2 mile trail is unkempt and not walkable. Try the forest preserve nearby for a trail.

This may be the best campground I've ever seen. Only went swimming for the day with a group of friends but would love to stay for a week! There is a lot of fun stuff to do there. What a cool place!Update: Avoid weekends! My goodness we couldn’t get on any of the floats it’s just a waiting game when there is large crowds. People just sit on the trampolines without actually using them & never get off. There is an understandable limit to the amount of people on them so it’s hard to get a turn when the same people are just hanging out. Definitely only going during the week or getting a campsite so we can swim & actually have a good time when the majority goes home at 6:00.

Great family venue! Clean bathrooms and lots of entertainment for all ages! We brought our 2 & 4 year old and they had a BLAST! Clean pool and lake/pond. The lake had lots to have fun with! Everything from a huge floating climbing wall to a little baby or toddle slide. Little (okay tiny) mini golf is also an option. Can't say enough good things, we'll be back. FYI parking in the parking lot is limited but there is lots of street parking available :)

Fantastic is all I need to say!!! My husband and I camped here last year for a weekend. Our stay impressed us so much we came back this year for 3 months. We are on the end of our 2nd month. The owners are definitely what makes this campground what it is!!! While guests are all tucked in at night they are still working, making sure guests have everything they need. Bright and early they are cleaning bathrooms, showers, pool and anything else that needs to be done to start a new day. I would recommend coming to stay here. It is a family friendly place. We will definitely be coming back next summer for at least 3 months. Happy Camping!!!

I have been going there for 4 years now with my wife and son. The owners and staff are great and have always tended to any needs that people come across. Being a smaller self owned campground, I believe the owner and staff can focus more on the customers and not on a corporate guideline. From the many campgrounds we have attended over the years I don't think this place is overpriced at all. We're else are you going to go with full hookup and have a full weekend of kids activities, pool, AND a lake filled with water toys for under $100. We love Hi Tide and will come back for years!
