The customer service experience at this dog grooming business was quite disappointing. The representative I spoke with on the phone seemed frustrated and unwilling to help schedule an appointment in a timely manner. The interaction lacked warmth and left me with the impression that customer satisfaction is not a top priority here. Businesses that want repeat customers and positive word-of-mouth would be wise to train their staff on providing polite, solution-oriented service every time.

The cashiers are awful. Didn’t say hi once and just continued their conversation with each other, made fun of not present coworkers, and so uninterested in doing their job and being friendly to me. Horrible experience, and even I have low expectations knowing what customer service is like. This lady didn’t even try

The fish are dead. I dont know if someones on vacation, but these tanks were nasty, and there were even dead fish floating around and dead fish in the tank above this one. It was disgusting and honestly sad just because fish cant do tricks and stuff like dogs and cats doesn't mean they should be left to die. The other fish were eating the dead fish which made me think "it only takes 3 seconds to sprinkle some fish food it can't be that hard.." Fish are animals too and should never be treated like that especially from a million dollar company that can afford the supplies and $6 fish food (it might be cheaper).I know I said lot about fish but something else that should be brought up is the dumpster animals. Thousands of people have found live animals in dumpsters such as birds, hamsters, beta fish, and geckos, when brought up petco says nothing, you can't run away from your problems forever and they will just look worse if they keep ignoring it instead of taking action. Im not sure if its just the fish that are being mistreated but i know its not. Also buying the animals isnt saving them its supporting the company and the mills.

Great place for crickets for our bearded dragon. Everyone helpful. They even showed us a very inexpensive 75 gallon terrarium online at petco that we ordered.

There should be zero stars for this location instead of trying to help me and take my dogs in. They just kept on coming up with excuses they just turn people away. Never going to this location or any Petco. it’s bad enough your cashiers are rude and no one greets you but to even have the groomers are. I’m happy that I found out over the phone not in person before wasting my time. My services will be a pet supplies plus that give me no problems whatsoever. And they actually greet people when they walk in no matter how many people are at the front they will stop talking and gossiping with each other to smile and greet people, and unlike you guys, your facility should be closed with the amount of rudeness you have going on with your staff

Went to Lake Zurich location to access flyer sale. Was charged full price - associate did NOT bag anything (I even brought bag my own bag and stated that canned foods fit great in these bags.) associate DID NOT bag any of my items and instead; commented on the 2 Danes and engaged “regular” customers who walked in.Based upon this experience - I am hesitant to use PetCo again. Apparently one had to either bring in their OVERSIZED DOG-pet or spend $$$ to be treated as a VIP.To add insult or injury, I phoned the location to share awareness and es retold I would have to physically return my items and receipt for them to correct their error?!?NOT HAPPY!!!ZERO customer care (other than those with 2 Great Danes or are their “preferred” clients)

Twice now I have seen the fish in horrible conditions. The first time there were literally multiple tanks where every single fish was dead. Clearly something had gone wrong, probably some equipment broke, which might not be their fault.The 2nd time was actually worse, even though there were fewer dead fish, they didn’t have the broken equipment excuse. It was just plain neglect. I told the cashier and they said “oh we’ll clean that up, we just haven’t gotten to it yet.” So you have a dozen fish dying every day and your concern is just to clean them up??Your concern should be the fish dying left and right. So it wasn’t just the neglected fish but the attitude that they’re just some trash to throw out instead of living creatures that they care about that disgusts me

Terrible customer service, the clerk was super rude when I tried to return brand new item after 30 days buying it. Not even store credit was offered. I go there all the time and would never expect to be treated that way. Never again shopping there.

I couldn't find what I was looking for. I went to buy a few other things, and the cashier was extremely rude. He had been complaining about a coworker to another worker where everyone could see and here. He didn't say hello, how are you, did you find everything ok, thank you, have a nice day, or anything. I asked for a bag because my stuff was just strewn on the counter top and I was holding my dog's leash, and he lashed out that I could have one this time but it's 10 cents a bag. I said it would have been nice to know that before checking out, and he pointed to where it is written below the pin pad machine, almost out of sight, and said it's been like this since February. I rarely go into Petco, so I wouldn't have known, and I wasn't looking under the pin pad for anything. In Chicago it has been 7 cents a bag for years at all stores, and they still say, "would you like a bag? it is 7 cents each." It's about being courteous. I'll be returning what I bought because it didn't work out and I don't want to buy from a business that treats its customers like that.

Rude and unprofessional cashier. Looked to be a manager. On a personal call while I was waiting to be checked out then yelled "come on let's go!" Also, when the bags are not free they should let customers know this in case they would like to purchase one before they say "it's too late the transaction's done." Will be going down the street in extra 10 minutes to PetSmart next time just to avoid this ignorance.

I went to get crickets and they were all dead. There were containers on the shelf near the meal worms and other live things. But they were literally all dead in their containers.

This store used to welcome walk-ins. A couple of days ago, I took my dog in for a grooming service. There was no one at the grooming service desk. I waited for about 10 min when eventually, an employee walked by and informed in a condescending manner that they no longer accept walk-ins suit to staffing shortage. I should've known about the internal policy change, I guess.

Clean and well stocked location. Was able to find the cat food I was looking for. If they could also stock some more varieties of royal canin prescription cat foods then this will be a go to place for sure.

Older male cashier kept yelling at me and my dad. It was reading racism honestly. Because he was pleasant to the people before us and when we got there he was extremely rude, basically almost left his station when it was our turn to be rung up. And then proceeded to be condescending to his co cashier when I asked him for a bag.

ELIZABETH M is the worst Human being I ever talk to , I called to let them know I was going to be 5 mins late for my 9:00am appointment, since it was road construction. She advise me not to show up if I was going to be 5 mins late cause she could not take me . After I explain to her I drove 20 mins away to get to the store and wasn’t expecting construction and I didn’t understand, she responded to me as if I was stupid asking me How I didn’t understand appointments and she has nothing to do with road construction, I need to learn how to be on time and my dog will not be seen, and the. She hung up in my face , I will never bring my dog up here ever again , worst customer service ever .

I always like PetCo but recently their staff manning the fish department turned sour. Customers like myself are left waiting 20 minutes after requesting help. The staff treat customers like they’re inconveniencing their time. I understand the importance of caring for an animal but they fail at treating customers with respect and taking the time to communicate. If it’s ethics of animals you want Support your local pet store (who spent more effort caring for the animals ) and don’t waste your time with these big box stores.

Was in there for 25 minutes looking for some toys for my 2 month old kitten, couldn't find them and although I pasted up numerous employees none of them were willing to help me. They made me feel as if I was in their way.... this Place is absolutely terrible!!!!

Petco groomers are the best, they listen to the customers concerns and offer helpful suggestions. The pets are not stressed out or anxious entering or leaving and that says a great deal about the care they receive. With the rewards system a really great value too.

This review is about the grooming side. It says they accept walk-ins, but I've been turned away for a quick walk-in for a simple nail trim on more than one occasion because they are constantly understaffed. I recommend you take your business elsewhere or make an appointment a few weeks in advance and I wish these people would take 'walk-ins accepted' off of their website, since that is FALSE advertisement, from my experience.

So Clean, so organized!!Excellent Experience.If your dog was hurt and injured as I read on the review you clearly you need to go in in person to file a formal complaint. Not wait for a manager to call you back. I adore animals. My pet means everything to me. I was sorry to read that but why would you not make a formal complaint?I would certainly be at the store with the vet exam and be very vocal. It is serious if this is that is the case!! If the Grooming shop has issues you people need to be much more persistant or nothing changes!!That is not right to sit back. Go in person and be the voice.

I placed an online order at ~5:20PM CST Monday 11/8/2021. I received no updates or messages as to when my order would be ready. I went to the store after 7PM to pick up my order and I was told my order was not ready. I was told that any online orders placed after 5PM would not be picked until the following day. Odd, as I never received a message stating when my order would be filled or a message stating that it would not be filled until the next day. I went with an employee to pick my order off the shelf as there was no one in the store and a few employees standing around. The employee were nice but why would an order placed a few hours earlier not be ready? I can place an order for food and receive it within an hour, but placing bagged dog food in a cart is a challenge? This store has always been challenged with stocking food and preparing online order in a timely manner. I may switch to Amazon or PetSmart

Read the other reviews, huge issue with customer service at this location. Went in to get vaccine services through Vetco - their staff was helpful, friendly and quick to serve, whereas the Petco (I'm assuming store manager, it was a dark haired guy) was quite rude and snotty toward me. I had my dogs in the car after their vaccine appointment and was waiting to check out. Both registers were occupied with patrons so I patiently waited twice to pay my bill and the woman in front of me was trying to do a no-receipt exchange on an item. She apparently had issues with verifying her phone number for the Petco Pals Rewards or something, so she asked to run to her car to get whatever else she needed. Okay - no big deal I thought - maybe it's okay for me to sneak in between transactions and check out really quick because I had to only pay for my dogs' vaccines. I politely asked the cashier if it was okay for me to check out ahead of the woman who ran to her can and apparently the male manager (or employee, I'm not sure) heard my question and without even looking at me or in my direction said "well we're down one person on the registers because they're on a break... you can get behind this guy with the dog food to check out after I'm finished with him." I didn't even catch that he was saying that TO ME, because the male cashier had such a snarky tone that I assumed something was going on at his register. I wasn't being pushy, just asked a genuine question to my cashier (and mine could have said "no, that's not possible") and I would've been totally fine with that but no - the male cashier had to go out of his way to make it seem like I was being completely unreasonable?I actually caught up with the guy who was buying dog food in the parking lot and asked him after that weird encounter if he thought the male cashier was talking to me considering there was no one behind him, and the patron even commented that the comment was rude and uncalled for, totally ridiculous.I can't say I've ever quite experienced such a poor excuse for customer service. I know employees are overworked, understaffed and underpaid - but that gives no one a right to speak to you like that, period. All I did was ask a question with the expectation that I could be told "no," but this guy took it too far.Can't say I've been a loyal patron of Petco in my life, really - but this incident today confirms that Customer Service is not Petco's strength at all. I'll continue giving my business to other companies who are there to provide great quality care to pet lovers - not a place that makes it seem like being a paying customer is a nuisance.

A Petco employee was defensive about selling me a single guppie. She's never seen my tank, yet decided she wasn't going to sell one fish to me simply because --- as a busy mom, I didn't clean the tank out immediately after a fish died. It's not like I wasn't going to or that I don't take care of my fish. But the behavior goes against treating PetCo customers with respect. Meanwhile, they had dead betta fish sitting on a shelf in their tiny cups they were more than willing to sell. Made no sense. Aside from their own dead fish, they sell turtles in an undersized aquarium. Maybe worry about your own fish before you make accusations towards a customer. I have no doubt their biggest customer base are young pet owners and families centered around their pets. The fish in my home live a better life than what you see at these box stores like Petco. I invest alot in my pets. After my experience with Petco employees, I simply drove to a smaller local pet shop and gave them my money. I will continue to do so in the future.
