This location has major issues with stocking rancid meat. When picking out steaks, you usually have a choice between oxidized (best case) or downright spoiled (worst case). I purchased the least brown-ish filet I could find on 2/9/24 (evidently packed on 02/09 as well) and it was completely rotten after only 12 hours in the fridge. I went back to the store on the 11th, and all of the same rancid steak packed on 2/9 was still stocked, now even more brown and nasty than on the 9th. The meat department of the store also often has an overwhelming sour smell to it. They're doing something way wrong here.

Came by to ask about allocated bottles. i come by every tuesday and thursday which is supposedly whenever there shipment comes in. Approched alcohol manager and asked about how to retrieve allocated drops when they come in he completely ignored me after i asked and walked away to the back. A 2nd person stocking the shelves told me i have to be a regular to get any according to his manager which is completely unacceptable behavior on the managers part.

A few weeks ago they had standing sewage in the produce section during the day. Today (5 pm on a Sunday), there was a mouse running around the isles close to the check out. Absolutely not acceptable.

Pretty normal jewel store. Little smaller but still has a decent selection. Staff is friendly and polite. Store is impeccably clean. It was busy when I was there but they had sufficient checkout lanes open and the wait was not long. No real complaints. Just stop by for a couple quick items which they had in stock. Store was stocked well and Isles were clear of any clutter and clean. Cashier was professional friendly and fast. Well I usually do not shop Jewel because they tend to be a bit pricey this is a nice location and had a few decent specials. Produce and meat were fresh, Deli counter was fresh and stocked

I mistakenly rated this place one star, stating it had "Painfully slow service"After the manager replied to my comments I realized my mistake.I thought I was rating the Jewel in Chicago, on Foster and Harlem.This Jewel in Lake Forest is one of the best managed Jewel stores I have been to. The service is outstanding and the store it is much classier than the Chicago locations.

TERRIBLE STAFF!!! Unfriendly staff who could care less about customers. No smiles, no hello, and evening hours the staff are all talking to each other and seem bothered when you want to check out. I wouldn’t buy seafood from them its old and smelly. Store makeover made the store out of date. The bathrooms are disgusting. The bags they use are the worst. Depressing and dirty. I only go for pet food.

This store is always either out of the simplest produce items, or what’s left on the shelves is rotted and limp. This is not a supply chain issue. They should always have basic items. Oranges, parsley, cucumbers, green beans, etc.They have dragon fruit. Who eats Dragon Fruit?Whoever does the ordering needs some guidance. It so frustrating to have to go to Fresh Market to subsidize the lack of basic items.

Deli area is always nice, however, I do think they need to continue their training for customer service. Went in for sushi and the sushi guy was not there, I was looking for a different sauce and I asked the lady that was in the area to help me. She was very rude and did not want to help me with what I was looking for. She was very short and told me all they available was there and to look there. I wish I knew her name.If you work in customer service, just do your share, and be nice to people!

This is a nice Jewel, with a vast selection. They are open late, which for certain work schedules is handy. Its clean and well stocked. Friendly. My only suggestion would be for management to plant some trees out in their giant vast parking lot. Its unnatural to go that many square feet without some greenery.

Decent food at the deli, but they only use the gloves to keep their hands clean not to maintain hygiene. It's the same way at the meat counter. They will put them on, work around the area, then package food, really gross. Also, the older girl in deli seems to only want to set up her next date. I waited 20 minutes while she continued to flirt with one customer. Finally, I just walked away. Once again, I went to the food store a block away. It's more expensive, but much better. Where is the manager at Jewel, do they have one?

Terrible produce department. They are always out of something. Went in for some broccoli today and looked at the nasty soft yellow crowns and left. The store isn't clean and usually a real mess. Can't wait for the new Mariano's! #worst jewel ever!

Review for pharmacy. I had a very refreshing experience with the people in the pharmacy: fast, knowledgeable, pleasant; helped me with a complicated problem that required a script transfer from Walgreens, all done with the greatest of ease. I recommend them highly!

Excellent coupons! Great selection in the bakery and deli!! They have a strawberry torte!!! Better than any wedding, birthday cake that you can get at a so called bakery. Try it!

I shopped at Jewels in Lake Forest when I moved to Lake Forest over 20 years ago, but it didn't take too long before I saw an employee at the Bakery Dept handling a loaf of bread without gloves. What's worse? She was wiping counter with a dirty rag with her hands. When I asked her to slice the loaf, she took it with her bare hands without gloves. I let her know that I wasn't going to buy the bread because she handled it without washing her hands and wearing gloves. She began to scream at me and said her hands were fine. I immediately put her in her place; went straight to the customer service and reported her behavior. After that, I stopped buying anything at that bakery. However, I saw other employees handling bread the same way for customers, with their bare hands after they scrathed their heads, touched their nose and hair, and handled dirty rags. I have reported their behaviors several times to the customer service and Assistant Manager. They didn't care. I stopped shopping at Jewel. There are other stores to shop. They lost my business.

Jewel Osco is a family friendly supermarket that has everything you need. They always change decor and products to match holidays, trends, and special events. I definitely recommend. Also, if you go up to the bakers, kids can get a free cookie.

Except:- Pay twice as much- Get the same crappy serviceHave fun!Oh yeah, if you come in at 9:45PM (they close at 10:00PM) except to be harassed and berated until you leave. At one point I actually had this moron follow me around the store until I turned around and said, "I KNOW! The store closes in 10 minutes"Seriously, this store has some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. If you really want to push it, go to self-checkout and don't expect to be greeted. When you enter a coupon, except some moron to practically push you aside as he makes sure you aren't defrauding the system.... I can't wait until Fresh Market opens up.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FRESH FROM THIS LOCATION. Went to buy fish, found mold growing in the package, checked the whole row, mold in every package. Got an employee, showed them the mold. They took the packages into the back and said nothing to me. They do not check the packages of fresh meat again after putting them on the shelf for the first time.
